Eliminate Sale Of Water Rights to Frackers in Disaster Drought Conditions: Boost Local EconomyAs a business owner in Steamboat Springs, I understand that our city's economy (and much of CO economy) is dependent on 2 things: Tourism and Ranching. After one of the worst snow years in almost a century, I was shocked to learn ranchers that would typically buy water rights were out bid by companies that will use the water for fracking. Until now ranchers were able to purchase water to maintain their land and heard which provides an economic benefit directly to the community and helps drive tourism by keeping the water above ground to cycle back through the environment. We're asking for the state to put the economy first by immediately enacting a bill that will stop the sale of water rights for fracking during drought disaster conditions.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Royer

Angelique GettleI have worked with the Navy and feel strongly against using high frequency sonar that could injure or kill marine mammals. It is the Navy's job to see to it that they work with the ocean rather than destroy it.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Angelique Gettle

Coal Hurts - Transition to RenewablesPublic Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) is the largest electric monopoly utility in New Mexico and supplies 60% of its energy needs by the combustion of coal, with adverse affects to our economy, environment and health. Its coal-fired plant releases more than 8.5 million tons of CO2 into the air annually. Commissioned in 1973, this 1800 mega-watt coal plant is one of the dirtiest coal plants in the west and is responsible for smog at 22 national parks and wilderness areas in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah. It is one of America’s largest single sources of nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxides, particulate matter, and other toxins. Now is the time to switch from coal to renewables.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mariel Nanasi

Stop Global WarmingWe need to face up to the fact that we are destroying the world we are living in and start living sustainable lifestyles. When my daughter asks me what the world will look like in 50 years, I have to explain that there will be catastrophic problems unless things change soon. We cannot continue building cars that use gas or electric power plants that use coal, for example. Solar, wind and water need to become our primary sources.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bob Breckenridge

Action needed now to stop Global WarmingEvidence continues to mount that the earth is warming: oceans are rising, icecaps and glaciers are melting, and severe weather related conditions continue. All these things are happening at a rate more quickly than most scientists had expected. Nature is warning us we cannot continue to delay action.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lou

Wolf extermination in IdahoIdaho just passed a rule to allow hunting of wolves every day of the year. There were about 1,000 wolves in the state. The hunt that ended Sunday took 379 wolves. That leaves less than 625 wolves. With the new rule the new season began Monday. Hunters can kill up to 5 wolves. This is NOT hunting it is extermination of a species not based on any science.455 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Tisman
