Pass the Frack ActOur environment is under assault on many fronts, but one of the worst is Fracking, a process where tons of harmful chemicals and water (some unknown and proprietary) are pumped under extreme pressure several thousand feet under the Earth into the gas rich shale. There are practically no studies on the effects of this process on our drinking water aquifers. Think about this, of all the drinking water on Earth, only a fraction of a percent, out of 99%, is potable water. The gas industry is run by former Bush allies. People in Pennsylvania are being lied into giving the rights to their land to the gas industry by zealous lawyers who use deceit to convince these folks into signing complex legal papers, therefore, giving the gas industry the rights for up to 50 years. To put this all into perspective, the gas wells produce a lot of gas for about a year, and then it slowly leaks out of the shale for up to 50 years. It is only enough for America's gas needs for 3 and a half years. In the wake of this process, the gas producers leave huge pools of this toxic sludge in retaining pools, which they claim they will remove all of it. Nobody can remove it all without some being left in the environment. People in Pennsylvania cite creeks that move like Jellow under their feet, and in other states, people's drinking water is ignitable out of the tap. Local town officials have used electronic gas detectors that show a visual readout of the gases leaking from stations that pump the gas to its ultimate destination. Thereby adding more greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. Most of this gas is sent to other countries, and it is never used in America. I urge you to sign this petition.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Scott Finnell

No more styrofoam cups at Dunkin' DonutsWe know Styrofoam does not biodegrade, is dirtier to produce, and is polluting our oceans and harming marine life. We should eliminate its use wherever and whenever possible. The egg industry caved to pressure years ago and went back to the use of cardboard. By signing this petition, we can make a difference again. If you visit Dunkin' Donuts, please demand they serve your coffee in a cardboard cup instead of Styrofoam.2,604 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Margaret dePasquale

Solar initiativeFor states to mandate that electric providers offer a monetary return on solar energy produced. Take a page from Germany's play book. Offer a dual metering system one for consumption and one for production. This will create jobs, clean energy and kick start the economy.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert J Pickrell

We, the People of Ohio, Ban Fracking and Toxic Disposal Injection Wells in our State. Our Governor, Senators, and Representatives have passed Fracking, Injection Well, and Water Withdrawal laws that deny the People of Ohio, our political and human rights. The Gas and Oil Industry now holds legal precedence over our land, our water, our air, our homes, our health, our children's health, our ecosystem, and our freedom for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We, the People of Ohio, Choose to Ban Fracking and Toxic Disposal Injection Wells Now!2,278 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Carolyn Harding

STOP GOP GOAL FOR OFFSHORE DRILLINGThe U. S. House of Representatives 248-163 to expand oil drilling offshore and on Federal lands and shelve new environmental rules for refineries. Bill "Birther" Posey who allegedly represents the Space and Treasure Coast in Florida voted for this assault on the fragile Florida ecology. He must be made accountable for his actions against his own community. Every citizen in Florida should be working for his defeat in his re-election bid in November10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patricia Lavins

Stop the Nuclear Waste Dump in TexasTexas may approve billionaire Harold Simmons to build the largest nuclear waste sight in Texas above ground water that needed by four states. The site would accept nuclear waste from all around the country. Geologists say the dump will inevitably leak nuclear waste into the aquifers. Harold Simmons has donated $ millions to Republican causes and gave $1.2 million to Rick Perry for his Presidential campagne. He was disowned by his daughter for making campaign contributions in her name.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rick Frankfeldt

Governor Brown: Stop wind turbine projects from being built on main migratory paths by major corp...I live in Weldon, California. The North Sky River /Jawbone Wind Energy Project has started construction, though it was fast tracked through the EIR process. The project is being built on a main migratory path that goes through Kelso Valley on the way to the Audubon Preserve at the end of the road, a critical stopping point for migratory birds. This will be remembered as an environmental catastrophe if allowed to continue.240 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Bimmy Keene

Stop Belo Monte dam, save rainforestBrazil's President, Dilma Rousseff, is launching construction of the world's third-largest dam in Belo Monte in the Amazon Rainforest, and plans for 59 more. This hydro-electric power station steals and destroys native lands, renders 40,000 people homeless, and threatens our global climate as well as extinction of rainforest animals.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shannon Rizzo

Say " No " to the Tar Sands Pipeline in VermontThe proposal to build the Tar Sands Pipeline through Vermont From Canada is not in the best interest of Vermont. It will cause much destruction of natural areas with the potential of so much more, as well as affecting our drinking water. How can we even consider this project based on the reasons that we, Vermont, just banned fracking in our state. To a great degree this proposed project will affect us in the same way. We are promoting the practice in other countries / states if we agree to this project. So we ban fracking in our state and then we allow them to pipe what is being fracked in other states / countries through our state?14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cindy Provost

Stop Shale FrackingWe need to protect our subteranium structure and our farm environment from the chemical polution needed to produce this kind of energy. The November election needs to be about green energy, not jobs. There will be no jobs if we destroy our countries' resources. Stop running TV ads making false claims about shale fracking.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Muriel G. Ward

Reporting of Non-Disclosure AgreementsGas drilling companies require lease holders to sign said agreements which force landowners to agree to silence where drilling errors are made. The penalty for breaking these agreements is a lawsuit initiated against the leaseholder by the gas company.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Glenn Williams

Greening our Interstate Highway BermsOffset rain forest loss by minimum mowing of our Interstate highway system shoulders and middles. We'll use less fuel, reduce pollution from burning that fuel. Let nature reseed the road middles and shoulders with oxygen creating trees, shrubs and wild flowers. Lovely greenery, beautiful flowers, better air quality, fewer dollars spent. What's not to like?58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tom Evans and Barbara Farrrar
