• Tell the USDA to Stop Chemical Warfare on Our Food!
The U.S. Military notoriously used Agent Orange in the Vietnam War to defoliate forested and rural land to deprive combatants of tree cover and plant food sources. The Military's application of this highly toxic chemical had devastating effects on the environment and on human life. Now, one of the makers of Agent Orange, Dow Chemicals, seeks approval of corn and other crops that are resistant to 2, 4-D, a chemical in Agent Orange. If these crops are approved, farmers who plant them will be required to use herbicides containing 2, 4-D to manage weed growth.

  • Ban Fracking
Because fracking has been linked to various cancers-including ovarian and testicular, spontaneous abortion, and air and water pollution, we must ban the practice. Like nuclear power, it is not viable without massive government subsidies. The clean-up bills should not be left to taxpayers!

  • Transition from Coal to Renewables
Everyday, tons upon tons of carbon pollution, ozone, nitrous oxides, sulfur dioxides, particulate matter and mercury – all from coal - exact a staggering price. Coal is the primary driver of man-made climate change – the defining moral and ethical environmental challenge of our age. The production cycle of coal is a cycle of death - especially for the people living in the toxic shadows of coal plants: breast cancers, stomach cancers, heart and lung disease and asthma.

  • Natural Gas Can Power Our Fleet
By removing the barriers to conversion of vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) we can reduce oil imports and burn a cleaner fuel to help the environment. Lower gas prices will ensue. We have natural gas in abundance.

  • STOP THE BUILDING OF ALL NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS
Considering the ongoing, widespread danger that is being radiated by Japan's destroyed (but still leaking dangerous levels of poisonous radiation) power plant, there should duly be WORLDWIDE BAN on the building of these overly dangerous facilities.

  • Glass instead of plastic
Rid America of Plastic containers. I burn papers in a barrel. Plastic smells, I don't burn it. I have MS so can't work, can't afford anything extra. Garbage is an unnecessary expense, I live in a rural area of New York state, there is a small swamp behind my home were I dispose of unused food. Bones. Feeds the fish and wildlife. Plastic is made with Oil. Glass is RECYCLABLE and is a perfect product for containers. Let wake up and look at the whole pictures.

  • Stop spraying our e--ways with chemicals
This petition is about the DOT spraying our e-ways with chemicals. They are specifclly targeting what they coin noxious weeds. Yes, these weeds can block drivers views which can be a hazzard, but so is spraying with the chemicals. Why not have out of work Michiganders harvest these weeds, or put some of the MI prisoners to work harvesting these weeds to start a broom factory in MI?

  • Water resource limitation
Limiting water grabs by private individuals in Florida. At present, the water management boards, appointed by the governor, rule on permit applications to withdraw water from the aquifer. Free water... just resell it and you are rich! The springs are drying up, surprise. lakes and wells are dry. A rich Canadian named Frank Stronach has a ranch called Adena Springs here, and he has an application to pump 13 million gallons per day, the same amount as Ocala. He probably has good intentions, and seems like a nice guy, but we will see if he modifies his application after hearing our protest.
