The Nebraska legislature is proposing a review of a new route through Nebraska for the Keystone XL Pipeline. Last fall we citizens fought to have the Pipeline out of the Sandhills. Now they want to put it through possibly north central Nebraska.

The Keystone XL pipleline is projected to run through 71 historically and/or spiritual archaeological sites important to the cultures of many First Nation people. 22 structures are threatened. Yet the voice of these people has been largely ignored, despite the many cases of cancer- even rare forms of cancer- which have been the result of tar sand mines in Canada. Numerous other ecological concerns have been raised, yet President Obama recently announced his support for the construction. This pipeline is something which threatens the remaining pieces of the heritage of America's original inhabitants, people whose ancestors lived here long before the Founding Fathers. Not only that, it threatens the integrity of our rapidly shrinking natural environment, including the 'spirit bears'- black bears born with white fur- and many other ecological factors.

Suncor Refinery in Denver has been leaking black goo into the confluence of the Platte River & Sand Creek at 480 to 2,000 ppb [5ppb = acceptable for drinking water] at least since 2011. Instead of repairing the broken underground pipes all they are doing is blowing bubbles into the water to disperse the contaminants into the air to be inhaled by humans and wildlife instead of fixing the problem.

It has just come to my attention that the US has signed but never consented to agree to abide by the1994 UNCLOS Treaty, along with Libya, North Korea, and some landlocked states in Asia and Alaska! UNCLOS stands for the Law of the Seas Treaty. It has been signed and agreed to however by 161 other countries plus the EU! This Treaty is a "constitution for the ocean" - It provides a legal framework within which all legal ocean activities must operate to protect from the real perils of over fishing and pollution. This petition is to insist that the US take on the responsibility of being a world leader in saving our oceans from dying.

During the past year, the City of Memphis is requiring all vehicles with the exception of a few exempted vehicles to complete an On-Board Diagnostic Test. While this Diagnostic Test is important to our environment, I believe it is unfair to the citizens of Memphis since surrounding counties are not required to participate in the inspection process. It is my hope that all of the citizens of Tennessee will sign this petition as a beacon for our concerns over this tedious process.

Did you know that over the past decade, the big five oil companies – BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and Shell – have earned more than $1 trillion in profits? At the same time, these oil companies also enjoy billions in special tax breaks. Meanwhile, Big Oil’s congressional allies continue to push ‘oil above all’ energy policies – from advancing the toxic Keystone XL tar sands pipeline to expanding dangerous drilling off our coasts. It’s time to fight back. The Senate may soon vote on legislation to end billions of dollars in annual giveaways that the Big Oil companies receive. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) has introduced the ‘Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act’ (S. 2204), which would cut billions of dollars in unnecessary oil subsidies. Additionally, the senator’s bill would use those savings to invest in clean, renewable energy sources that would create new jobs, make America more energy independent and reduce harmful pollution. It makes absolutely no sense that ExxonMobil, which reported annual profits of $41 billion in 2011, continues to benefit from massive taxpayer-funded government handouts. But this upcoming Senate vote represents an opportunity to put every senator on the record. As President Obama said recently, “They can either stand up for oil companies, or they can stand up for the American people.”

FEMA-HURRICANE KATRINA trailers are loaded with mold and formaldahyde. These toxins are carcinogenic to humans. People are sick and have died from living in them. Sellers are selling the trailers without giving the information of health risks. Families are being left in despair!

Close all DEQ Vehicle Station's. DEQ has out lived it's, purpose. Catalytic Converters are now on all cars and therefore DEQ is an outdated fuction to keep clean Air from dirty vehicles. DEQ is an unfair requirement of the people of Oregon.
