• Audio book lovers unite to save RB Digital in Lexington
I listen to audio books every day because my poor vision makes reading regular books challenging. Our library is making the wrong decision to end the RB digital audiobook service in favor of the Overdrive audiobook service. The RB digital service has over 6,252 titles to choose from whereas this new service has only 393 titles. I know that many audiobook lovers such as myself will be negatively affected by this change and the library needs to reverse its decision.

  • Don't Risk Another Financial Crisis
    S. 2155, which is moving quickly in the Senate, takes aim at Dodd-Frank protections for consumers, and guts regulators' ability to monitor big banks in order to prevent another financial meltdown. S. 2155 also puts consumers at greater risk of predatory lending and weakens other important safeguards passed since the last crisis. It would cut risk management requirements for 25 of the biggest banks in the country -- banks that took tens of billions in bailout funds during the 2008 financial meltdown, including banks like Suntrust and BB&T. The banking industry is showing record levels of revenues and profits. Congress should be focused on addressing real problems that ordinary Americans have with medical debt, student debt, and data security, not boosting bank profits further.

  • Send Beans To The White House!
Because Trump wants to make poor people eat beans, canned meat and fruit, and shelf-stable milk while he and his family eat fresh food, caviar, etc.

  • Release the House Democratic Intelligence Committee Rebuttal Memo
The truth about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election needs to be known, and Robert Mueller needs to be able to continue his investigation. Donald Trump cannot be allowed to further obstruct justice and the investigation, as he has already done and continues to attempt to on a frequent basis. The public needs to know the truth and cannot only be allowed to see the clearly partisan Nunes Memo, and should be shown the Democratic rebuttal and allowed to judge the information for themselves. Furthermore, Rod Rosenstein’s position as Deputy AG (and overseer of the Mueller investigation) should not be placed in jeopardy due to partisan lies, misinformation and things taken out of context, as set forth in the Nunes Memo.

  • Rep Rodgers: Show up to candidate forums
Rep. Rodgers continues to avoid open public forums. Now that she is up for election she has declined to attend any of the candidate forums. Her constituents deserve to know where she stands on important issues and how she compares to the candidate running against her.

  • Nationwide Suspension of Medicaid Benefits for Prisoners
Currently not all of the states in our great union use the suspension policy, and we would like to push for this policy to be adopted on a federal level, preserving the welfare of all citizens. • Release the Democratic memo
In a clearly partisan move that reeks of double standards, President Donald Trump announced that he would block the release of the Democratic rebuttal to the “Nunes memo” that tried to smear the investigation into Russian interference in our elections. The House Intelligence Committee’s unanimous vote in support of releasing the Democratic memo makes it clear that there are many facts that have not been shared with the public. And the President’s rationale for blocking it apparently didn’t apply when he decided to release its GOP counterpart. We can’t afford to let the Russia investigation become a partisan political football, but that’s exactly what Trump and his defenders in Congress want. The American people deserve real transparency, and to be able to trust our civic institutions. That’s why it’s so important we demand that the Democratic memo be released. Trump had no issue releasing the Nunes memo, which was an obvious partisan hack job, meant to derail Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign. His strategy failed. His decision to halt the release of the Democratic memo is an obvious attempt to hide the truth behind Russia’s attack on our democracy and we cannot let him continue to try to obstruct the Russia investigation. Americans deserve the truth, not a cover-up. Demand that the minority memo be released.

  • Sign the petition: Stop the Republican War on Voting. Fix Pennsylvania's gerrymander.
Pennsylvania's congressional district map is one of the most shameless gerrymanders in the country, and is a big reason why Republicans have a majority in Congress. The Pennsylvania state Supreme Court found it unconstitutional and has ordered the state legislature to submit a new map before the 2018 elections. But Pennsylvania Republicans are refusing to listen. After the U.S. Supreme Court denied their appeal, they are now talking about impeaching the state Supreme Court. Impeaching the state's Supreme Court justices would require a supermajority of the state Senate, which Pennsylvania Republicans unfortunately have because … gerrymandering. Sign the petition: Stop partisan Republican attacks voting rights. End Pennsylvania's gerrymander.

  • Say No To Repealing No-Fault Auto Insurance In Michigan!
I am starting this petition because this is at least the 3rd time in my 10-year anniversary of our family's car accident that greedy politicians have tried to change, cap, or just plainly ELIMINATE Michigan's No-Fault auto insurance program. I have lost my job, mobility, and the income that could have been possible because my husband retired early to help take care of me. Those are the realities of a traumatic injury caused by a car accident. Watch TV for a couple of hours and count all the commercials for insurance companies. I think these agencies are making money regardless of the survivor's claims. Thanks for your support.
