• Overturn Citizens United the Correct Way, Now with HJR 48!
Our government and political process have been captured by corrupt powerful corporate special interests. The system is now rigged and will continue to spawn more Trumps, hate, divisiveness, income inequality, privatization, austerity, climate chaos, death and destruction, and a shared feeling of powerlessness and despair. HJR 48 is the only amendment bill in Congress that ends both Corporate person-hood AND money as speech, allowing for the proper regulation of money in politics (bribes). It is rapidly gaining bipartisan support in the House with 53 co-sponsors, and MUST now be introduced in the Senate; call and/or write your senator weekly in addition to signing this petition. HJR 48 can and will restore OUR constitution and OUR rights and powers ONLY to us, We the People! With your help, we will over-rule the court and legalize democracy, and then kick the pirates and weasels out of OUR government, in time to save our dying planet!!! Big money in "pay to play" politics is at the root of our social and environmental problems. This is consistently cited as the most important issue by moveon.org members. • Remove Jared Kushner's Access to Classified Info
I fear that with our National Security at risk, with all the lies, fabrications and missing information by Jared Kushner, it would be in our best interest to block him from sensitive information. We already know he was looking to establish a "back door" to Russia, and we know the Kremlin's Gremlins have assisted every step of the way. Just the fact that Russia WANTED Trump in the White House, and meddled, which says they would only spend 1.2 million a month hacking, 60 million to the NRA to benefit Trump if it will BENEFIT THEM. Ask yourself, what was in it for Russia?

  • Tell Congress we are watching!
Memo to Politician and Candidates: Thanks for taking a few minutes to consume these words. I am not writing to yell at you about guns. I am not writing to yell at you about healthcare. I am not going to yell at all. What I ~am~ going to do is point out some facts relevant to your continued potential for government service. Ladies and gentlemen, your constituency is pissed off. You have to take a few moments and consider your own survival. America is no longer going to tolerate a lack of healthcare. We will not tolerate a regimen of spending cuts that devastates our schools and their ability to teach, guide, and keep safe our children. We will not tolerate theft from Social Security. (Spolier alert: Cutting it is theft. We all paid into it. It is our money. Cutting it is theft.) We will not tolerate a fake infrastructure plan that burdens our working citizens with 1.2 trillion in gas taxes and other obscene gestures. Ladies and Gentlemen. We are going to eliminate via elections anyone who takes money from the NRA, who thinks a lawn ornament along the Mexico border will do anything, who answers only to the swamp. You need to change your ways or start writing your post retirement novel. You have been weighed. You have been measured. Do not be found wanting.

  • Make the Medical Marijuana Program Affordable, Legalize Flower and Home Grow for Patients
We were promised an affordable program for Medical Marijuana in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our state failed us. Many of the patients are low or on a fixed income. With prices averaging a cost of $1000.00 a month, this is not affordable for most of the patients.

  • Tell Senate to Support Secure Elections Act S.2261
In 2016 Russia meddled in the Presidential election. Our intelligence agencies unanimously warn that Russia will meddle again in our midterm elections this November 6th, 2018. As many as 50 million people (25% of registered American voters) currently vote on electronic voting machines (DREs) that do not produce paper backups. DRE’s are still in use in 15 states, including the swing states of Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virginia, despite well documented concerns by cyber experts that these machines are vulnerable to hacking, malicious software, and glitches that could result in incorrectly recorded votes. And because they are paperless, there’s no way to check the accuracy of reported election results. All computer voting is subject to tampering, and although many voting machines do have paper ballots that could be audited, audits are expensive for states, difficult to secure, and therefore rarely used. How will we ever know that our votes are honestly counted? Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) introduced The Secure Elections Act (S.2261) on December 21st. It has bipartisan support and is co-sponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Susan Collins (R-ME), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM). This Bill helps us to trust our election counts by requiring automatic spot audits. Additionally: It eliminates paperless voting by returning to paper ballot back ups AND requires spot audits of machines to improve accountability and transparency in elections It requires the federal government to cover cost of recounts and audits to eliminate financial strain on local governments AND provides federal grant funds to modernize voting systems. It establishes "Bug bounties": lets federally contracted hackers in to election networks to search for vulnerabilities and offer cyber-security advice about where to focus limited resources It requires the federal government to build a catalog of cyber-security services that they can provide to state agencies. It calls for states, contractors, and vendors to notify the federal government and election agencies when their election systems are hacked or compromised. Mitch McConnell and the Senate leadership are ignoring this Bill. In fact, most Senators aren’t even familiar with its provisions or the importance of safeguarding elections at the local precinct and tallying level. Action Demand that Mitch McConnell and the Senate pass this bill (S.2261) and demand that we move toward more secure, verifiable elections now before midterm elections.

  • Recreational Marijuana in Ohio
There have been millions of people who have been to ERs or doctor's appointments and have received a prescription for narcotics or other drugs that are supposed to help the pain or whatever the case may be. But than you have side affects and massive liver damage. I am a frequent marijuana user and they help from headaches to back pain to being sick from flu to having anxiety issues. We need recreation for Ohio because I live in a small county called Brown County and I find that this would solve the pain pill epidemic and the heroin and methamphetamine issues. Even if we don't have dry herbs, the liquid and the edibles and oils will significantly make a difference.

  • Audio book lovers unite to save RB Digital in Lexington
I listen to audio books every day because my poor vision makes reading regular books challenging. Our library is making the wrong decision to end the RB digital audiobook service in favor of the Overdrive audiobook service. The RB digital service has over 6,252 titles to choose from whereas this new service has only 393 titles. I know that many audiobook lovers such as myself will be negatively affected by this change and the library needs to reverse its decision.

  • Don't Risk Another Financial Crisis
    S. 2155, which is moving quickly in the Senate, takes aim at Dodd-Frank protections for consumers, and guts regulators' ability to monitor big banks in order to prevent another financial meltdown. S. 2155 also puts consumers at greater risk of predatory lending and weakens other important safeguards passed since the last crisis. It would cut risk management requirements for 25 of the biggest banks in the country -- banks that took tens of billions in bailout funds during the 2008 financial meltdown, including banks like Suntrust and BB&T. The banking industry is showing record levels of revenues and profits. Congress should be focused on addressing real problems that ordinary Americans have with medical debt, student debt, and data security, not boosting bank profits further.

  • Release the House Democratic Intelligence Committee Rebuttal Memo
The truth about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election needs to be known, and Robert Mueller needs to be able to continue his investigation. Donald Trump cannot be allowed to further obstruct justice and the investigation, as he has already done and continues to attempt to on a frequent basis. The public needs to know the truth and cannot only be allowed to see the clearly partisan Nunes Memo, and should be shown the Democratic rebuttal and allowed to judge the information for themselves. Furthermore, Rod Rosenstein’s position as Deputy AG (and overseer of the Mueller investigation) should not be placed in jeopardy due to partisan lies, misinformation and things taken out of context, as set forth in the Nunes Memo.
