  • Reform US Senate Filibuster Rules
The US Senate rules need to be changed to encourage bipartisan debate in order to conduct the people's business. All Americans have suffered from the inability of Congress to reach consensus in a timely manner on important issues. Part of the problem is time wasted in the Senate by increased rigidity on procedural questions and escalation of the use of the filibuster as a way of impeding legislative progress. There is still a window of opportunity, but only a few days left, for the Senate to change the rules for the new congressional term.

  • Who sponsors add-ons?
As a liberal Democrat, I am just as concerned about the games our politicians play as rabid right-wingers are. The add-ons to the Fiscal Cliff bill and the Sandy Relief bill infuriate me. I believe we should demand to know who the sponsors are for any earmarks to any legislation.

  • Congress Pay for Performance
America's middle class earns a paycheck based on the work we do. If we don't get our job done then we don't get paid or we take a pay cut. Let's give our elected Senators and Representatives in Congress a 20% pay cut. They are failing to do their jobs.

  • Compromise
Republicans and Democrats must attempt to compromise for the good of the most. We will get nowhere as long as each side refuses to budge.

  • Suspend All Legislative and Executive Compensation
As a Veteran, I am personally disgusted by every single member of the US House, Senate and Presidential administration's inability to pass a satisfactory budget in a timely fashion. If our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen aren't getting the compensation they were guaranteed (vis a vis: 3 square meals a day), and our veterans are unable to secure work and/or the contractually guaranteed benefits they are entitled to, then the officers of government whose jobs only exists due to the continued sacrifice of volunteer warriors should cease to draw payment and benefits immediately.

  • Cut Pentagon Budget
All Americans have paid for the bloat and theft and overcharging in the U.S Pentagon budget; we pay for this theft on a daily basis. Our Pentagon budget is larger than the combined military budgets of all the nations in the world!

  • Reducing deficets
Billions are spent on lifetime, fullpay pensions for politians in Washington, even if they only work two years. They want to reduce our SS, but they should also contribute. We have paid for our SS, they have not. Should they give up their free, fullpay, lifetime pensions?

  • Congress to play by the same Rules
Congress wants to balance the budget and in part seems to blame Social Security. Therefore, they should be bound by the same rules of qualification. If deeper cuts are thought to be needed to Social Security, then perhaps Social Security as well as any other public/government retirement benefits should not be afforded to Congress. They need to be part of the sufferage of the mess they put us into.

  • Say NO to taxpayers funding ALEC
Rick Combs, director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau, has requested $775,000 to pay dues to such organizations as the National Conferences of State Legislatures, the Council of State Governments, and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Nevada taxpayer money should not be used to fund "corporate lobbying" by ALEC organizations.
