• TAXES
Why don't we just let the Bush Tax cuts expire and save SS and Medicare and bring down our debt. Shouldn't every American pay a little more to save the middle class and poor?

  • Unseal the Warren Commission Report
Everyone involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is dead by now. But many of us affected by that terrible day in Dallas are still alive and wondering. WE WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH! OUR LIVES WERE CHANGED, OUR HISTORY WAS CHANGED! We just want to know the the results of the commission investigation before we die too.

  • We want Honest Washington politicians.
No corporate lobbyist, no campaign contributions larger than $1000.00 per business or individuals. Exile from the US for anyone caught offending this constitutional law. No illegal bribes to Judges, police officials or any elected local, county, state and federal politicians what so-ever.

  • Pledge for Legislators
Almost all Republican legislators are coerced to sign a pledge to vote no on any tax legislation. Our tax code needs to be fluid so it can meet changing needs of our country, and legislators need to work together so that it is fair. Any financial crisis needs to be solved with a combination of refined strategies for revenue AND reduced spending. Most republicans know are fully aware of this but cannot vote intelligently because of the pledge they signed for Grover Norquist. It is crippling our governments ability to function intelligently on behalf of society. See 60 Minutes' piece on Grover Norquist. It's appalling.

  • Stop Continuous Election Cycle
Elections in the United States should be limited to five (5) months total. Three (3) months in the Spring and two (2) months in the Fall (September, October). This will allow politicians to concentrate on their job and not on the constant need to fund raise. It will also stop the incessant political noise.

  • Cap on Congress' Term/Benefits
I would like to propose something that isn't a new idea regarding term limits for all congress and senate elected officials. I would like them to be capped at two terms. With that I would also like to see the government employees be invested in 401k accounts and have them have the same opportunities as those of us they represent to seek healthcare insurance at the end of their term, either voted out or term has expired. Their retirement/401k would function the same as the private sector. With the savings we would realize, I would propose that money go directly to fund healthcare benefits for our veterans. I would work in more details, but would love if we could have a serious action on this issue. I believe we americans are tired of this congress/senate reaping benefits that last too long and for really no achieved results.

  • congressional elections - a 4 year cycle
from a review of the last 25 years of off year elections it is not difficult to conclude that the turnout in these elections are not representative of the society as a whole. the house of representatives ends up being elected by a "rump" of the electorate.

  • It's time for Garden Grove to adopt the Mills Act
The city of Garden Grove has no program in place to ensure the last remaining historic properties are not bulldozed. The City Council refuses to acknowledge or respect our last remaining historic properties. My home was built in 1888 and has called the most beautiful home in the city by many people. Unfortunately, it is not protected from redevelopment. The city had long ago deemed it worthy of being placed on the National Register of Historic Places with a Grade A status. I have asked the council many times for their support in registering my home, the Gem Theater as well as the Stanley-Ware Ranch and Lake Home on Euclid, but they have ignored the issue for years now. Please tell them that preservation matters to you and you want to Garden Grove to adopt the Mills Act.

  • Release The Records
The Republican legislature here in Utah has refused to release the redisticting records citing as their reason that it is not in the public's interest. The Democratic party has already paid the initial amount requested by the Republican led legislature in order to release them. After accepting the payment, they turned around and said that they would need an additional $9,000.00 and that no one but the Democrats would be interested in these papers. In the name of transparency, I urge the Republicans to make these records available to everyone.

  • American Citizen's Voter's Day it's our right
With all the talk about voter repression, states limiting extra voting hours at the polls, more voter's having to come up with more ID's our poor and senior's, and the disabled. I feel it's time to stop this. It is every American's right to vote for who they want. Lets give American's a free day like our other holiday's and make it easier for everyone to get to the polls to vote. There's no excuse, voter fraud is less than .00004% in this country. Let's give the elections back to the people where it belongs..

  • Have fact checkers at the presidential and vice-presidential debates
Voters must know what is true before they can make decisions that are in their own best interest and that of our country. It would be best if the fact checking is done during the commercials and then before the next round of debates, the fact-checkers' findings could be read without comment. This would be much more powerful than reading about it in the newspapers the next day.

  • Presidential Candidate Tax Return Policy
As we have seen this election year, certain candidates do not feel they should have to share their IRS income tax return with the nation when they run for office. I believe the policy needs to be changed as the President helps set the budget and choose where the tax money is spent.
