• Half Way House Next Door
If you read the title, to a homeowner, I don't think there is anything to explain. If your not a homeowner then you are a renter. Do you think your landlord is entitled to the same amount for rent for your residence, if there is a half way house next door. I think, we should all donate a dollar, and, open a half way house ,with government grants ,next to every public official. Maybe, it is time for a better zoning system. The government wants to take away my right to defend myself ,yet, helps fund the formation of a halfway house next door. Say no to destroying neighborhoods and family values. Tell them this is "your" land.

  • Answers Not Slogans
The GOP, Romney and Ryan have steadfastly refused to reveal their plans for Social Security, Medicare and taxes for the middle class. Their silence is deafening. When they do speak on those issues, it's mostly sloganeering and generalities. We need answers before the elections, not after. The Democratic party needs to force the issue by challenging Romney et al. for answers to those pressing questions.

  • Reform Congressional Term limits
Congress has done nothing for the people they represent. I believe that stricter term limits (4, 4 year terms) should be enforced. The do nothing legislators are driving the country over an economic cliff

  • Cut Defense
The House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday backed construction of a missile defense site on the East Coast, rejecting Pentagon arguments that the facility is unnecessary and Democratic complaints that the nearly $5 billion project amounts to wasteful spending in a time of tight budgets. • The "CHANGE THE RULES" Pledge
Introduced by The "Democratic-Republican" Party in NJ, the "Change the Rules" Pledge offers an elegant and unimpeachable solution to campaign finance reform, recently emasculated by the "Citizens United" decision. Senate Candidate Eugene M. LaVergne Congressional Candidates Frederick John LaVergne (NJ District 3) and Len Marshall (NJ District 4), and County Freeholder Candidates Scott Neuman and Tracy M Caprioni of Ocean County and Donald E Letton and Kim Johnson of Burlington County all signed the pledge at a Rally for the "Article the First" lawsuit, "LaVergne v Bryson" et al, on September 15th in front of Independence Hall. Read the pledge, and forward it to YOUR elected officials. We've already sent it, but it is far better that you do. Please also sign the petition here. To support the Article the First suit, another petition will be circulated. Thank you in advance for your support.

  • Postal Service Hopes to Increase Junk Mail
Due to the shrinking amount of first-class mail, Patrick R. Donahoe, the postmaster general, has made the appalling decision to bolster their bottom line by cutting deals with companies and marketing firms to increase their junk mail. City governments are left holding the bill for the disposal of all this additional junk mail.

  • Public Land Preservation
Public lands are being taken over and monopolized by the elite 1% who profit by the below cost programs for their exclusive benefit. These profiteers are often foreign corporations. I live in an in holding surrounded by National Forest Land. I have suffered continual abuse by hunters that consider my property part of their hunting grounds and trespass as a heritage right. I have observed that the Forest Service does not abide by their own rules and is more interested in marketing and destroying our forests than protecting them. Further the USFS is more responsive to hunting and pro gun factions than the majority of other forest users or respecting private property.

  • Stop Expensive Privatization!
Please stop privatizing the work of the US Government and Our State Governments. The Post Office, jails and public schools need to be properly funded, and not made into profit making businesses that cost the tax payers much more. Privatization is much more costly, and inefficient. Also, Somehow private companies will cut too many corners and their administrators are the only ones who get the benefits.

  • End partisan log jam in Washington
In discussions with my friends and relatives, including Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, I have found a nearly universal agreement on one basic theme: Our elected officials are consistently playing partisan politics, rather than working together to solve the economic crisis. The reality of the political environment, however, is sufficiently balanced that neither party can impose its solutions without negotiation with the opposing party. That is, real progress on solving our economic problems will require cooperation and compromise. I am therefor asking the candidates for President and Vice President of both parties to begin now to lead their parties away from the counter-productive, contentious partisan politics of the recent past into a period of cooperative political leadership necessary to address the serious risks to our country’s and our individual well-being during the present world-wide economic turmoil.
