The failure of the State's Attorney to prosecute the Chicago Police Officers for the murders, brutality and harassment of African American citizens.

The US Congress has abused and misused the super majority vote by using filibustering and obstructing important bills. This "super majority" is being abused and needs to be abolished. A real majority vote must be restored to Congress to move our country forward.

In November, 2009, my mother was killed as she crossed the street. The man who killed her was 82 years old and he was not arrested and his license was not revoked. This tragedy might have been avoided if this man had been tested to see if he was still able to drive and had full hearing, sight and the ability to turn his head to see, but since no law existed that would require this, no such test was performed.

Limit the amount and frequency of money donations from other than registered voters.

The whole nation has been affected by the pig-headed determination of Republican Representatives & Senators to block President Obama's effort to pull the country out of the mess created by President Bush & his colleagues.

Current campaign finance law is the injection point Wall St uses to poison OUR democracy. In 2000 85% of the US electorate favored major campaign $ reform. Today that could be 95%. It's one crucial issue that could coalesce over 200 million Americans. If 120 million were to sign-on AND donate an average of $50, we'd have $6 billion to defeat the 10 worstof our reps. Campaign law like that in this petition would mean each of us would be equal to the Koch bros. More importantly, it would mean each of us would be equal to Exxon/Mobil etc, for if we could limit ourselves, we would thereby limit our "corporate selves". Certainly corporate personhood should be revisited, but this would eliminate 99% of the advantage it gives. Poll after poll show that what we have now is not the will of the people; It's Wall St. Most Americans are kind and still believe in freedom, democracy, justice and the possibility of a good life for all. This would be reflected in the policies WE choose after gaining control of our government through this simple demand.

The nation has been impacted by partial judges ruling in favor of their party platforms: i.e., abortion, voting laws, Citizens United.

I would like to have a federal law regarding term limits for Congress. There are term limits for president and there should be the same for Congress so that new, progressive thinking could keep up with the times and the people.

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling: "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. Congressional Reform Act of 2011 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The founding fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Don't forget Jack Abramoff--right from the horse's mouth. After doing time in a federal penitentiary, former corrupt big time lobbyist Jack Abramoff has come clean to offer a solution to the corruption in our nations capitol. Kick the lobbyists out. Make it illegal and a conflict of interest to accept huge salaries or any amount of compensation in any form during or after the completion of their terms in our nations Senate or House of Representatives from companies who have benefited directly from their time in office. Currently, it is legal to offer fat paying jobs to Senators and Congressmen upon completion of their elected terms, to do the bidding of corporations and Wall Street while an active senator or congressman. Let's make this blatant conflict of interest illegal! Also, stop the revolving door of corruption and make it illegal to hold a public office when it calls into question a conflict of interest. For example, if a publicly held office has the potential to benefit a company that a senator or congressman or any government official has worked for in the past, or has held or currently holds financial interest in or will in the future in the form of a job when their term is up. Like many in the FDA and EPA who have in the past worked for Monsanto for example.

"Let's keep our right to vote as the party member we are and not be forced to vote as a member of another party just to vote in the County Sheriff's race" Camden County with less than 100,000 populations should have non-partisan constitutional seats. This allows everyone to vote for a candidate without choosing a party. This allows for equal voter representation throughout the County. Due to the polarization of the national election it is difficult to have local voters focus on the constitutional officers as a single race. Many voters are required to choice a different party than their own to vote in these races. This disenfranchises every voter and decreases voter participation solely because of the partisan political requirement.

We Americans have all been held hostage by Congressmen who have sworn loyalty to a "pledge" to NEVER raise a tax. They swore this in deference to a Congressional pledge to work for the best interests of the American people. They didn't quite, but may still drive our country over the cliff if the necessary revenue isn't restored to support our country in defense, education and citizens' health needs.
