Presidential Candidate Five Year Tax HistoryI believe any serious candidate for the highest office in the country should be a proponent of "Full Disclosure" as it relates to Federal Taxes.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Young

Run off elections for all major offices.I believe that with today's fractured parties it is time to require a candidate to get a majority of votes cast to win an election. There are too many cases where a spoiler candidate allows a candidate to win an election where they would have been second even a distant second if the spoiler candidate was not in the race.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carl Simmons

Switching Political PartiesA politician shouldn't be allowed to switch parties or be an independent until the next election cycle when that person runs again so we know exactly what that person stands for. I don't want to support someone who goes with the trend to help themselves and not the people who supported that person.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gertrude Reed

Federal Elected Representatives BenefitsOur Federally elected representatives have provided themselves the best benefit package for themselves. They have NO accountability in regards to paying themselves more, or improving any of their benefits. Eliminate the Pension and go to a 401k.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kurt Gottschalk

Elect President by Popular VoteWhy is it that we can count each person's vote when voting for Senators and Representatives but not for the President? Yes, I know the Electoral College is part of the Constitution, but times have changed and so should parts of documents that become outdated. I would very much like to see a constitutional amendment, eliminating the Electoral College and declaring that the President be elected by popular vote. No more red and blue states. That's ridiculous and gives a few states too much say in the election.344 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Christine Queen

Washington Food Stamp ChallengeThere is far too much ignorance about hunger today. Too much demonization of the poor who are on SNAP and too much disinformation by those who know little about what being on Food Stamps is really like.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Waldorf

Make Candidates Accountable for Their Ads"Some" candidates ads have no regard for the truth, in their efforts to win at ANY cost. This attitude undermines democracy and serves the interests of dishonest people, at the expense of "the 99%" of the American Public. Before the next presidential election, we need to handle this situation. The League of Women Voters sponsors presidential "debates". Let's petition them to sponsor a "Responsible for Your Ads" event in which the candidates address EACH of their opponents' ads -- and defend their ads -- with fact-checkers present. "I approved this message," is not enough. An "accountable for your ads" event will compel political campaigns to clean up their act and so help clean up politics.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lawrence Gold

Have Senator Jon Kyl explain his vote against veterans! Many of us in Arizona are outraged that Senator Jon Kyl voted to block a billion-dollar veteran jobs program. We want him to explain why he abandoned our veterans despite their high rate of unemployment and homelessness.5,293 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Irene Kitzman

Vote None of the AboveWhats the definition of insanity? If we continue to elect career politicians then we will continue to get the same results. Vote none of the above until we see a candidate worth voting for51 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kirk

Campaign Finance ReformBig Money is drowning out the real issues that need to be considered in choosing the best representatives in the election season. Public financing of all campaigns from the city councilor to the president of the US is the only way to keep money out of politics. Candidates should be only receiving the public funds and any private funds should disqualify the candidate.35 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Louis Perretta

Petition for the Creation of a Public Assembly in Arcata, CAThis Petition is for the Creation of a Democratic Deliberative Assembly in Arcata, CA that will meet regularly, be open to public participation, and will create Resolutions with the force of Democratic Law. The first signers of this Petition should take great pride in putting their names on this document. They have become a part of American History in doing so. Our great-grandchildren will read these names and recognize them as the Founders of a new form of Government. They will give thanks to us for securing Liberty, Justice, and Democracy for future generations.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gabriel McMillan
