Secretary Geithner: Tell the IRS to enforce the lawGroups like Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS and the Koch brothers' Americans for Prosperity have escaped disclosing their donors by disguising their democracy-damaging groups as so-called "social welfare" organizations–meaning they can keep their donors completely secret. A group of Democratic senators asked the IRS to step up enforcement on these groups, and the tea party and extreme right wing are not happy. We all need to take a stand with our fellow progressives to build public support now. Sign our petition to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner to direct the IRS to rigorously enforce the law regarding political groups masquerading as "social welfare" organizations.9,576 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Russ Feingold

LET THE PEOPLE VOTEI keep hearing stories from friends across the country about how difficult it has become to vote for our elected officials. What if voting was made so easy that we had a national holiday so that we can all go to the polls to vote in November? What if you brought your kids with you to the voting polls and there were games for them geared to learning about our political system? Let's pass this onward as part of our duty as Citizens!37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kabeer Minhas

Stop Freight Brokers GreedI am a Truck Driver a small business owner. The major issue I and many other Independent Drivers are concerned about is Government regulation on Capitol Hill in the Transportation Industry we need Broker Reform with the rising fuel prices, toll road prices and greedy freight brokers it’s an strain on the small self-employed Trucker. Freight Brokers have no cap on the amount of revenue they earn for just setting up a load. They offer insulting low rates for hauling our Country products. The Rates are so low that you would be practically hauling the load for free. I would like to get the attention of the Senators and other legislators who directly impact this industry. This multi-billion dollar industry has been unregulated since the early 80's and the big corporations and brokerages has been having their way for too long please let’s take action. Thank You79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Smith

Support PolitaxPOLITAX–A 100% tax on all political advertising. This way those buying our politicians can pay for the rest of us too. The tax (of matching funds) would be used to pay off the national debt. After that, the surplus could be used for education and health care for years to come.774 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Lansford Johnson

Preserve ALL Medical History for Military FamiliesBecause hospitals, health practitioners, doctors/facilities, only keep patient files for 8 - 10 years they are gone for good after that time. The military, on many occasions, after concluding they were in part responsible for some illnesses to the veteran and family, wish to compensate for damages. Example: Atomic Vet - military who participated in occupation of Japan right after bomb was dropped. V-Vet - military exposed to Agent Orange, et al, in Viet Nam. The Veterans Administration asks the families for medical proof when filing a claim. By the time a claim is filed, records have been destroyed. My father in law was an A-Vet who passed in 1990, did not go to VA Hosp since he had no reason to say his cancer was caused from his participation in Japan in 45-46. The military did not release this information until 1996. My father, a V-Vet, fought in Korean War as well as Viet Nam, passed in 1973, 4 year after a 20 year career. He was subjected to Agent Orange and also spent 5 years in Japan. Because it is always after the fact, and years later, I believe the medical records for the Vet as well as their families since exposure may be passed to future generations, should be preserved.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Linda Linehhan

Stop outside political donationsI am now aware of the fact that many campaine donations come from outside the United States. Donators have influence over the candidate they support and there fore should not be able to influence our government. No wonder companies allowed unless they are tax payers. Rather individual, business or conglomerate only those within the US should be have offices outside of the US. If those companies could not contribute to campaines they would have a reason to have their offices inside the US and pay their taxes here.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Susan Nice
