• Ban Assault Weapons Now
El Paso. Las Vegas. Dallas. Orlando. Sandy Hook. Aurora. San Bernardino. What do these horrific shootings have in common? Assault weapons. Assault weapons were used to murder five people in Dallas, 49 people in Orlando, 26 people in Sandy Hook, 12 people in Aurora, and 14 people in San Bernardino. Right now, these military-grade weapons are available for purchase online, at trade shows, and through gun brokers across our nation. They have become the weapon of choice for mass shooters. Assault weapons have no place in our cities and towns. They have no place on our streets. We need to ban all assault weapons now, while moving quickly to enact commonsense gun reform.

  • United Gun Group: Shut Down George Zimmerman's Hateful Auction
Our state and the entire nation was shocked when George Zimmerman was exonerated for the murder of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin nearly three years ago. Since the acquittal, Zimmerman has had multiple brushes with the law, including allegations of domestic violence. He has been recorded using racially charged and insensitive language and he has been recorded bragging about "getting away with it." But his most recent actions take the cake. George Zimmerman is auctioning the gun that took Trayvon Martin away from his mother, his father, his family and his future. He is attempting to cash in on injustice. We can't allow this to happen. The Martin family has suffered enough, they should not be reminded of the worst day of their collective lives while a murderer profits off of their loss. United Gun Group must do the right thing and SHUT THIS AUCTION DOWN. Please sign our petition demanding United Gun Group stop profiteering off of injustice and murder.

  • UnitedGunGroup.com: Don't sell the gun that killed Trayvon
George Zimmerman just posted the pistol he used to kill 17-year-old Trayvon Martin for sale on a firearms auction site called UnitedGunGroup.com. That's right: This man is trying his most desperate—and darkest—plan yet to profit from the time he murdered an unarmed teenager in cold blood and got away with it. Trayvon Martin was unarmed, and his death sparked a national movement demanding racial justice and police accountability. It was Zimmerman's acquittal that led to the first widespread use of #BlackLivesMatter on Twitter. Now, this unconvicted murderer is promising to use the funds from the sale of this gun to attack the Black Lives Matter movement. It's sickening that this man is trying to profit from the taking of an innocent person's life—and it's shameful that any site would help him do it. Demand that UnitedGunGroup.com remove this auction immediately.

  • No Gun Range in Sprague
The proposed gun range would bring significant noise pollution, crush property values and destroy our quality of life. There would be no meaningful economic benefit from having a shooting range in Town.

  • Philipstown Board: Pass Firearm Safe Storage Law
Accidental gun deaths and gun suicides are viewed as a crisis by health care professionals, including the Putnam County Suicide Prevention Task Force. More than half of all suicides are committed with a gun, and more than 75% of those guns used to commit suicide come from the homes of the victim, a relative or a friend. If guns are not in use, they should be locked up for safekeeping. This will keep our community members, especially our children, safer. With the U.S. suicide rate at a 30 year high, there is no time to waste!

  • Golden Corral Buffet/Restaurant: Say No To Guns in Your Restarants
On April 9, 2016 my husband and I had lunch at Golden Corral and during our meal, I noticed a man sitting at the opposite table in front of us had a gun holstered in his belt. I beckoned for our server and asked him if Golden Corral allows weapons inside their restaurant. He said yes, as long as it's "in the open" but not if "it's concealed." Being that his answer wasn't adequate, my husband asked to speak to the manager. He arrived at our table and I asked him the same question. He affirmed that Golden Corral allows guns inside their restaurant since "Ohio is open carry." I said we wouldn't be back and he said that was fine; in fact, "he felt safe with someone open carrying inside Golden Corral." Guns have their place but not in public restaurants.

  • Stop Dangerous Permitless Carry in Louisiana!
As a Louisiana native, I support the Second Amendment. But I also support my communities. If you agree with members of law enforcement, local governments, and tourism experts from around the state that allowing dangerous people to carry loaded, hidden guns with no safety training is not the future Louisiana deserves, please sign on! And if you're from out of state, please leave a comment and let us know how armed, dangerous people would affect your travel plans to our state!
