Require insurances to cover infertilityThe inability to have children is not a choice, it's an issue affecting 1 in 8 couples in the United States. Insurances do not cover any of these costs, which can be very expensive Infertility is a disease or condition of the reproductive system, which should be covered by insurances in South Carolina. Other states do require insurances to assist in the cost of infertility treatments, which allow their residents to begin a family. Infertility is a life crisis -- it has a rippling effect on all areas of your life. It is normal to feel a sense of failure that can affect your self-esteem and self-image. The unfortunate 1 in 8 usually remain silent, and there is no one to speak for them through the costs and pain. If you are fortunate enough to have your own children, chances are you know someone dealing with infertility, or your own children may experience this one day. The average cost is 12,000 dollars excluding meds, which may be up to 5,000 dollars. It's time the state of South Carolina require some form of fertility assistance for those covered under insurances. After all, this is a disease, not a choice.191 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Robert Thompson

"Anthony's Act - Providing Those Suffering With Addiction a Real Chance at Recovery."I am starting this petition because we have 2 children affected by the disease of addiction. Once they are adults and not covered by our insurance any longer, it is next to impossible to get effective treatment for them. In essence, it is a death sentence.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deb Branson
