This petition voices support for the freedom and legal right of terminally ill individuals to take control over the circumstances by which they experience the dying process. The bill includes evidence based practices in the implementation of a Death With Dignity option and tough safeguards against abuse. The choices that HB2102 provides to the terminally ill have been proven beneficial to patients and families; safe and effective in providing peace of mind and restoring control to the terminally ill. Vote No on SB 161! Protect Patient Rights! This bill is an attack on patient rights; giving the authority over patient treatment to the insurance company instead of the injured party or healthcare practicioner . NEVER does this bill promise to reduce rates on behalf of citizens but simply limits their benefits. General Practice isn't Enough!General medical practice that only covers minor emergencies on campus is not enough for residents of the University. The institution should provide specialized care or discounted rates to off-campus clinics for their registered full-time students.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Aspen Smith

Advocate for OT in HomecarePlease join the occupational therapy student-led group "Advocate For OT in Homecare" from Bay Path Unversity in supporting the Medicare Home Health Flexibility Act (S.977 and H.R. 3820) The Medicare Home Health Flexibility Act would specifically allow occupational therapists to open home health therapy cases and conduct the required comprehensive assessments. Occupational therapists are qualified to perform the initial and first comprehensive rehabilitation assessments based on their unique training and perspective, which focus on a person’s functional capabilities. Not allowing occupational therapists to open health therapy cases, causes unneeded barriers to providing patients with effective, timely, and appropriate therapy services. We hope you will join Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD), Dean Heller (R-NV) as well as the National Association of Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and support the Medicare Home Health Flexibility Act.36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Advocate For OT in Homecare

Awaken And Enlighten, Government, Legislators, And Media, To Chronic Pain Reality!I have been a chronic pain sufferer for over 13 plus years! 13+ years struggling to be understood and acknowledged! We chronic pain sufferers a vast majority of us have to on a daily basis face judgments, comments reflective of who they, family, friends, society, and government think we are! Not reflective of who we really are! Awareness, of what we face/challenges, in addition, to our oh so painful debilitating illness! We get barraged with negative labels such as a drug seeker, attention seeker, exaggerating our pain... I'd like to introduce this petition to educate and enlighten, bringing attention to chronic pain and the debilitating, heartbreaking, road of judgments and inaccurate bias judgmental statements that we endure by not only our family members, friends, the medical community, but society as a whole! It is next to impossible to be able to articulate with any kind of Justice how living day in and day out, 24/7, 365 days a year with torturous never-ending chronic pain is; the intensity and toll it takes on your body, your mind, your spirit, your psyche, and self-esteem! I would like to introduce the ability to educate and inform media, legislators, family members, society as a whole to the correct terminology and challenges we face! Start opening and changing the narrative, educating and enlightening those who do not know the gravity, impact, and seriousness of this issue! Many are dying due to suicide because the essential tools, the only thing that gave them any sense of relief, functionality and or quality of life is being or has been taken from them( their medications opioids)! The collateral damage that plays out in their lives and all those that surround them! And the ultimate toll and damage this action of tapering and or removal of opioids will do to the family unit, social dynamics that will become explosive & reputably damaged that could potentially be irreversible! Thank you so much Cathy Kean XOXO534 of 600 SignaturesCreated by CATHY KEAN

Increase treatment options for addictsPresident Tump seems more interested in getting a death penalty option for drug dealers than providing funds to treat those most affected by this national health crisis. My family and millions of others need greater access to treatment for our children , parents, friends, and neighbors. Let’s let Congress and the administration know what is truly needed.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joanne Giannino

Missouri Lawmakers: Save DMH Regional Center Services for Our ChildrenMy family will be personally impacted by this change in qualifying for DMH Regional Center case management and services. Our case manager has been with us for 20 years and knows my son's needs extremely well. Like many Missouri families, we are in danger of losing our case manager and the services that my son currently has because we will not qualify for Medicaid (which is a new requirement this year). I advocate for many families in Missouri and they are very concerned about losing this valuable resource. Some families only have their Regional case manager to advocate for their child. Now, they will be with no one. Case managers will only be allowed to work with Medicaid families and anyone else will be stripped of their case management and redirected to a "referral" phone contact that won't know their child and can only provide contact information for outside resources. The personal interaction between case managers and families will be gone. And Regional Center funding for these services will be gone as well.35 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cate Hall

Become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act (H.R. 676)The United States spends more per person on health care than any other industrialized country, yet we have some of the worst outcomes. With tens of millions uninsured, we have the highest infant mortality rate and the lowest life expectancy out of any wealthy country in the world. Money isn’t making its way to patients like it should because our existing system is centered around profits for insurance and pharmaceutical companies, not people. But more and more Americans are rising up, asking tough questions, and demanding change -- and they’re getting it. For the first time ever, a majority of House Democrats support Medicare for All, and 15 new co-sponsors have added their names in the Senate. Now we're asking you to join us. Please help us continue building momentum and add your name as a Citizen Co-Sponsor of the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act (H.R. 676) today.39,588 of 40,000 SignaturesCreated by Keith Ellison

Cary Kennedy -support Universal Health Care for ColoradoOur Health Care in the U.S. is broken and Colorado can lead, as we have before, in attaining Universal Health Care. A single payer system with out the Insurance companies. It looks like Cary Kennedy may be our next Governor of Colorado. Her platform is progressive except Health Care. Let’s change that and demand Health Care for ALL. The Colorado Foundation for Universal Health Care has the answer.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lori Boydston

Labor and Delivery MUST be included in our new hospital! We come before you asking that you stand with us, Birth Local and make your voice heard! The plans for our new hospital in Front Royal, VA. do not include a labor and delivery unit. Studies show that this could have devastating consequences, not just for our mothers and babies, but for the economy of our town. Our community deserves equal access to healthcare.764 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Birth Local

Gov. Cuomo: Preserve Medicaid Funding for Primary Care in NYIndependent medical practices are an essential part of the healthcare system. They provide personalized, culturally sensitive care to adults and children in their local neighborhoods, connecting with families in ways that large, corporatized health care providers cannot. This month, elected officials in Albany are hammering out details of the State's budget. Changes to Medicaid funding that could be devastating to the survival of independent practices are being considered. Physicians who participate in the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program, the advanced primary care program through which Medicaid participants receive highly coordinated care, could see a proposed 73.33% reduction in payments for May and June, followed by a permanent reduction of 20% to 33.33% starting in July. The economics are straightforward: Independent medical practices simply cannot survive when they are being asked to do more while being paid less. Tell our elected officials that cutting funding to the doctors who care for our economically disadvantaged neighbors is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Single Payer Health CareMoney we are paying for health care is going to insurance companies that do not provide health care. Single Payer saves us lots of money by using our government (Not making a profit) to insure our access to health care.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alexander Farrell
