Health Care affects us all and I am sick of Congress voting on things that don't affect them. If it did affect them, they might care more about us all and the inequality of health care, and less about politics and insurance companies, making them real Public Servants.

I am creating this petition to create a federal regulation on bill proposals. As someone covered by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), I am not comfortable with 13 Senators hiding from me and trying to take away MY HEALTHCARE!!!!!!!!

The Senate is trying to push through a healthcare agenda that no state in the nation wants because it will be detrimental to most Americans.

I have the genetic connective tissue disorder Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. As of 2017, PriorityHealth refuses to pay for Euflexxa injections for my progressive and painful joint deterioration. It expects me to use steroids, which will only destroy what little knee cartilage I have left. Steroids are forbidden for those of us with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This is a violation of our CIVIL RIGHTS. Please sign this petition for those of us with EDS who want to maintain our mobility. If forced to rely on steroid injections, people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome will face knee replacement surgery, which doesn't always work because of our severe structural disorder. Euflexxa injections are far cheaper than pushing people in great pain into unnecessary and premature joint replacement surgery.

House Republicans already greased the wheels for their own healthcare bill -- granting themselves a special waiver from House rules requiring the text of legislation to be posted online for 72 hours before a vote. They were in such a hurry to vote that they didn’t even wait for the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office score to find out how many people would lose healthcare under the bill -- a nearly unprecedented step for major legislation like this. Congressional Republicans criticized the process by which the Affordable Care Act was passed in 2009, claiming it was rammed through without a fair hearing. Now, they’re doubling down on what they claimed to oppose, rushing a bill that could leave millions of Americans without health insurance. When wealthy special interests set the healthcare policy agenda instead of the American people, we all pay the price with higher premiums and less coverage. And when politicians draft bills in secret and reject common sense transparency, we all pay the price with rigged rules that benefit big donors and wealthy special interests instead of everyday people. The American people deserve transparency from our elected officials, and a fair chance to scrutinize and debate such consequential legislation. Without any publicly-available bill and public hearings, we can’t allow a vote on a bill that would affect millions of Americans. 91 people a day die from opioids in this country. We can do something to stop this epidemic if we ensure that medical cannabis is part of a comprehensive pain management strategy. The Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis must include expanding access to medical cannabis in their recommendations.

Millions of Americans will be devastated by GOP proposals to repeal large portions of the Affordable Care Act, which has provided life-saving coverage and protections for so many. Our political leaders should be putting patients over politics as they shape the future of health care in our nation.

With the onslaught of objectionable actions occurring in Washington it is easy to become reactive while the Republicans drive the agenda. We need to acknowledge that the odds are against saving the ACA and think one move ahead.

I am a young father of a beautiful little girl. I have several preexisting conditions that directly affect me and my daughter. I will no longer stand for this. We are to resist as one.

Medical cannabis patients in Fresno have suffered for years because the city and county both prohibit the cultivation and retail sales of medical cannabis. Now the city is proposing to ban "recreational" sales without even bothering to consider Proposition 215 patients or tough new state laws. FRESNO DESERVES BETTER.
