  • Demand Dignity at Our Borders, End Operation Lonestar!
BREAKING: This week it was revealed that Texas Troopers severely violated the human rights of migrants seeking safety in the U.S. by denying them drinking water & literally pushing them back into the Rio Grande. This inhumane treatment was ordered by TX. Governor Abbot as a continuation of his administration’s anti-immigrant project Operation Lonestar by working closely with ICE & CBP to detain, abuse, and deport immigrants. In addition to his stunts of bussing of migrants out to other states, his administration has now installed razor wire barriers in the water of the Rio Grande that injure and make crossing much more dangerous. People including children, pregnant women, and babies have suffered serious injury & death as a result of these cruel tactics employed by Gov. Abbot’s administration. President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas must act now to stop these human rights violations and provide relief to those who have suffered under TX Gov. Abbot’s abuse! They must investigate this and put an end to this abuse NOW! ADD YOUR NAME to demand President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas investigate and correct the treatment of migrants at our borders and offer relief to those who have suffered from Governor Abbott's actions!

  • Fight for Rights
Others should join our fight for rights! Prisoners in Missouri were given the right to an attorney. If they cannot afford one, one is appointed to them. So why is this right not given to the ones under guardianship? A psychiatric evaluation after a year in a locked facility will show the progress of one's health. Placing them in front of a Judge will get the courts more involved with their cases. When placed in a 24 hour 7 days a week locked down facility you are not given any amount of time that you will be in this facility. It could be a year it could be 12+ years. Prisoners are given an out date, but the non-criminal mentally ill are not given this right.

  • Abuse victims rights
What if it were their mother daughter sister niece aunt uncle brother nephew father? Abuse happens to everyone and everyone deserves justice. Women children and YES even MEN are stuck in abusive relationships/situations. They all deserve the same help and protection from those harming them. If one signature can help save at least can help make the change then that's what is needed. Victims should've live the life of a victim they should live their lives as a survivor. They should be able to live without fear that their abuser can still hurt them. Restraining orders need to be more than just a piece of paper.

  • HELP SAFEGUARD OUR LOCAL RENT CONTROL AND TENANT PROTECTION ORDINANCES
Amending the Rent Control and Tenant Protection Ordinance in favor of the Meadows owners, will create displacement of families, families with children in CCUSD, senior citizens, retirees, those with disabilities, residents who work in Culver City, while increasing the 43% of Culver City Renters who are rent burdened. Instead of serving the 48% of Culver City Residents who are renters, it will cause an exodus, and challenge those who are displaced. They will most likely be unable to relocate in Culver City or find affordable housing in neighboring communities. We are especially sensitive to displaced senior citizens and children who are pulled out of school before graduating as seniors from Culver City High School.

  • Injunction changes to prevent more deaths!
Domestic violence victims and children of contentious divorced should have additional protection from their abusers. Additional professionals that are knowledgeable about mental health should be involved in such a major decision such as injunctions and whether they should be lifted or permanent. If a thorough psychological evaluation is conducted on an abuser, this may help in seeing there are underlying disorders of concern.

  • Connetquot School District: Reverse The Pride Flag Ban
LGBTQIA+ students face elevated risks of suicide, depression, and more. Connetquot Schools has had repeated issues with racism and homophobia, and LGBTQIA+ students report discrimination and hostile environements. When a teacher tries to rectify this, they should be comended. Instead, a teacher hanging a Progress Pride flag was met by rage from Board of Education President Jacky Napolitano-Furno, and a demand to take the flag down. Unfortunately, the school district gave in to her demands, not only forcing the teacher to take her flag down, but banning all Pride flags district-wide in classrooms. Connetquot needs to lift the ban on Pride flags, and allow the Progress Pride flag to hang once again. Please also email: Board of Education: [email protected] Superintendent: [email protected]

  • NO Pardon For Trump
As a result of the Trump administration, our country has become more divided and divisive; we have lost integrity around the world; the right to vote has been restricted; free and fair elections are being challenged without evidence and our institutions are being infiltrated by those who fabricate conspiracy theories. These are only a few risks before us and they cannot be condoned if we want to save our Democracy. Failure to prosecute, convict and impose the strictest sentence under the law will compromise our democracy, promote increased corruption in our politics and send a clear message that we no longer have separate branches of government. As recently stated by Senator Cheney, "We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation."
