Please vote "NO" on the Senate Bill 844 - 6Please vote "NO" on the Senate Bill 844 "Dash 6" Amendments because thousands of sick and disabled patients will lose safe access to medicine, hurting their quality of life. Limiting patient gardens and placing unnecessary rules, inspections, fees and reporting requirements on growers will force many out of the medical system and potentially into the black market.130 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ryan

Use Racketeering/RICO/Conspiracy Laws to Stop Police Misconduct and KillingsAcross this country, police seem to be out-of-control, killing with impunity unarmed defenseless citizens. The government needs to do something to protect citizens from the police.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Edgar Lynk

Legalize Medical MarijuanaI saw the result of my 14-year-old son's suicide 13 years ago. My first reaction was to run to him and pick him up. A twenty six minute hell ensued and the result was crushed vertebrae in my neck that hurt from morning to night. Now, I am American Strong so I built a swimming business because being in the pool helps but I am only one little story and there are a million of them more than mine. If it is a Medical Doctor, why would you not allow them to prescribe a natural plant that works equal to many pain and PTSD drugs, just to name a few?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Laura

DC City Council: Stop "jump outs!""Jump outs" are racially biased, needlessly confrontational, physically aggressive, and they're often initiated without legal justification. They erode public trust in law enforcement and diminish public safety. In light of the police abuse happening nationwide, it is our moral responsibility to put an end to this horrendous tactic and make sure black communities are protected against police violence. SIGN THE PETITION! Tell the DC City Council to put an end to "jump outs!"54 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Dinkin, Working Families

Remove Condoleeza Rice from the NCAA playoff selection football committeeSince our government lacks the required morality and integrity to take these war criminals out of circulation within the confines of a civilized society that operates under the rule of law and hold them accountable for their crimes, we the undersigned feel it is our civic duty to do so.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joyce Siegel

The U.S. needs to track police killings nationallyThe Bureau of Justice Statistics keeps detailed records about crime throughout the country, providing an invaluable resource to track trends and to help legislators and law enforcement agencies determine how to allocate resources. However, they do not currently track the number of police killings across the United States, or any details about those encounters or the victims. The lack of comprehensive statistics about police shootings feels like willful ignorance on the part of the federal government. And this record is crucial for establishing the patterns of violence and creating the solutions we need to ensure all communities are safe and secure. Police forces around the country receive federal support. It's time for the federal government to mandate that police departments provide detailed information about police killings as a requirement to receive federal funds. And the BJS needs to make this information available in a transparent and timely fashion.28,863 of 30,000 SignaturesCreated by Rashad Robinson

Stop Incarcerating Parents for Victimless Marijuana CrimesAs described in a new cover story in the SonomaIndependent.org, the taxpaying voters of Sonoma County have voted overwhelmingly for both medical marijuana and full legalization. Yet Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch and Probation Director Robert Ochs are asking a sentencing judge to tear my husband Yarrow Kubrin from our four and seven year old children and incarcerate him for up to five years. Yarrow has never been charged with harming or threatening anyone. He registered and legally created a medical marijuana collective, with a bank account, but was arrested, and pled guilty, to legal technicalities (like depositing cash) under the State of California’s arcane marijuana laws. There are many peaceful men and women like my husband Yarrow behind bars in Sonoma County today for legal technicalities related to marijuana. Yarrow has worked hard and successfully as a real estate broker since his marijuana bust four years ago, providing as a productive member of our community, and helping me, as a non-working mother, to raise our daughter and four year old challenged son. What possible benefit could there be to removing Yarrow from our family, forcing us into poverty, and incarcerating him at a cost to taxpayers of $50,000 per year? District Attorney Jill Ravitch campaigned on a slogan of “Keeping You Safe.” Tearing parents from their families and incarcerating them for years for victim-less crimes like growing marijuana makes our families, and community, less safe! Why, then, did Ravitch withdraw a plea bargain agreement that would have avoided jail time and place him on probation for two years? And why is Probation Director Robert Ochs, who has publicly expressed support for alternatives to incarceration, recommending a prison term of four and a half years for Yarrow, whose actions have never harmed anyone? There has been an outpouring of support for Yarrow, with nearly 100 Sonoma County citizens writing letters requesting leniency, and overfilling the hall outside his courtroom. On May 5, Superior Court Judge Rene Chouteau will sentence Yarrow. We ask that D.A. Ravitch and Probation Director Ochs reconsider their recommendations for jail time, and allow Yarrow, and parents like him, to remain with their families for victim-less crimes related to marijuana. It’s time to stop the insanity of Sonoma County’s secret, unsupported, multi-million dollar war on marijuana.1,319 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Heather Kubrin

Act Now: Pass Historic Agreement of Community & PoliceHelp protect motorists, pedestrians and juveniles from being stopped and searched for no reason other than their color, ethnicity or age. Help ensure that policing is fair, unbiased and professional. Both community and police worked hard to create this agreement and both support it. In 2014 it passed the RI Senate unanimously. In 2015 we need your help to make this law!331 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Toby Ayers

William Levea up for Parole - WE NEED JUSTICE FOR CHRISTOPHER SPACKWilliam Levea has currently served five and one half years of his minimum six year sentence for the brutal felony conviction of vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated, killing Christopher Spack on November 20, 2009. He is now unconscionably eligible for parole this year, November 20, 2015, a mere six years to the day after which he recklessly and purposefully destroyed a man's life, body, and family. Levea's blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit but was not the sole cause of the horrific crash that killed Chris and injured countless others, both physically that night and emotionally for the past six years. Levea was sentenced to 6-18 years in prison and is now eligible for parole (11/2015). Many people stood by us last year and signed our petition when he requested an early medical parole. It was claimed that he was ill and would die within 3-6 months. He is still alive. To this day William Levea has never shown remorse to Chris' family or the others that he injured despite having many opportunities. The night he killed Chris, he laughed after seeing that he had killed a man and then attempted to leave the scene. Regardless of age and/or health this is not a man that should be allowed back into society. On behalf of Chris and all of the victims, we are asking that you sign this petition if you believe William Levea should remain in prison and not be granted parole. Please help us keep William Levea in prison for his full term.2,091 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Julie

Stor the torture and deaths of innocent Blacks in California prisonsI'm a RN who worked at a California State Prison (CMC) where large numbers of Black and Hispanic mental health patients are severely abused and tortured. Routinely locked naked in tiny unheated cement boxes for 24-hrs a day, poisoned with hallucinogenic drugs and subjected to sexual humiliation and agonizing torments--signs and symptoms of severe psychosis are often seen in just six days. Nurses reporting the abuse are harassed and fired. I saw at least a dozen who were fired, including both of our union reps. Using nurses to pretend torture chambers are really hospitals violates the Nurse Practice Act. The California BON needs to forbid it's members from participation. This was done in concentration camps where medical personnel assisted in similar abuses. I worked in Germany after the war, where the nursing profession is disdained for this. In going over hundreds of inmate files, I discovered that many appeared to have been convicted for the same crime, just a few names and dates changed. I suspect the reason they are locked up in secret "mental health treatment facilities" is to prevent them or their loved ones from ever obtaining legal representation. After six days of torture and drugging, most are unable to form meaningful sentences. No mail, phone calls or visitors are allowed. The staggering number of deaths by "suicide" are certified by MD's working for CDCR. No mention of torture is made but deaths resulting from torture can not be called suicide, to say nothing of the suspicious way razors, drugs, rope and other deadly implements end up in locked isolation boxes. I noted that a black teacher was given 7 years for helping students cheat on tests. At CDCR, white officers and medical personnel involved in torturing people to death get promotions. If you feel shooting unarmed black men in the back with 45 caliber hallow points needs to stop, how about the hundreds of victims CDCR is holding incommunicado in medieval dungeons pretending to be "medical treatment centers"? No cameras are allowed but some sickening video has escaped. This atrocity has been going of for decades, resulting in many slow, painful deaths, harming thousands of individuals, families and communities. It is also very, very expensive. One officer in particular, a records expert with 30 years experience is involved in creating phony arrest records, testified to confessions that never happened, verification of crimes that never occurred, and may alone be responsible for falsely imprisoning thousands of innocent people. The documentation is extensive. If RN's are removed, they will be harder to hide the torture as medical care. Please sign this petition if you are interested is saving innocent Americans from hideous torture and death. Paul Spector RN, EMT-P, CPT. U.S. ARMY Ret.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Spector
