Do not legalize recreational marijuana in California per Prop 64We, the "Moms Strong" of California have seen our sons and daughters harmed by "just pot". Our young California minds need protection from the harms of marijuana given currently to anyone for any condition. My own gifted college student Mel, enrolled in 2011 in a top California public university, fell from the Dean's List due to psychosis. He obtained a medical marijuana card for insomnia in 2013 by dialing a provider via phone and was never even seen by a doctor. Not warned about the possible side effects of using today's potent marijuana, he was in a car accident caused by an unexpected THC influence, Mel begged me for help to quit using this drug. After a 28 day rehab stay, Mel is recovering slowly with appropriate medical attention and support. Many more similar stories from real parents can be read on this website: http://momsstrong.org/ Our young minds in California need to be protected from the harmful effects of marijuana. Prop 64 allows 21 year olds to use recreational marijuana. How will our college and universities regulate this on campus? And our high schools? Who will police the K-12 children already struggling student performance. Our young people's health, education and well being should be our top priority. Annie's Homegrown: We Need More Cheese, Please! Our family loves Annie's Mac and Cheese! But we need more cheese for our mac and cheese because sometimes there are a few on the side that don't get enough cheese. But if you go into a different box to get the cheese from *that* box, then that box won't have enough cheese, and on and on until you end up with an empty box. If Annie's makes individual cheese packets, then we can have as much cheese as we need in our mac and cheese and not end up with an empty box. --Kennedy, age 9103 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kennedy Smith

Bernie Sanders for Senate Democratic Leader! Now that Bernie has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president we need to do more to keep fighting for his ideas. Senate Democratic Leader is the most effective position for him to continue influencing the debate and getting action on issues that are of critical importance to most Americans. Our petition needs to reach all democratic senators before the next majority/minority leader election.295 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Scott Feuless

Remove American Indian Mascot from Local Business Logo"[Institutions] who "continue the use of Indian imagery and references…have simply failed to listen to the Native groups, religious leaders, and civil rights organizations that oppose these symbols…[T]he use of the imagery and traditions, no matter how popular, should end when they are offensive." --United States Civil Rights Commission of 2001 "[The National Congress of American Indians] denounces the use of any American Indian name or Artifice associated with Indian mascots; and calls upon all reasonable individuals in decision making positions to voluntarily change racist and dehumanizing mascots."(Resolution MID-GB-93-58, June 1993) I am attaching links to their website and to an old commercial. While I can't find the one they are currently running on TV, I can say that the newest one shows a white child dressed up in American Indian dress and singing a jingle with a traditional American Indian melody. http://www.reddpestsolutions.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2f53d5Brco&list=PLSTPl3n_QcNXEmZ4-uMtIyeRJ3t3WD2L9 Be part of the change to end the racism this business continues to perpetuate.172 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Meg Boyles

Racism Does Not Belong On Television: Tell CNN To Fire Corey Lewandowski and Scottie Nell HughesIn a shameless move to increase their ratings, CNN is providing Donald Trump supporters Corey Lewandowski and Scottie Nell Hughes with paid positions and a national platform to promote Donald Trump’s hatred and racism. Even worse, CNN is hiring Lewandowski and Nell Hughes in order to cater specifically to Donald Trump supporters - since their regular Republican contributors oppose Donald Trump’s candidacy. By hiring Corey Lewandowski as a regular commentator, CNN is effectively validating the opinions of someone who repeatedly denied press access to journalists covering Donald Trump’s campaign, was charged with a misdemeanor after forcibly grabbing reporter who was attempting to ask Donald Trump a question, and who helped normalize Donald Trump’s dangerous and toxic rhetoric. By hiring Scottie Nell Hughes, CNN is demonstrating that it is willing to promote the opinions of an individual who has defended Donald Trump’s use of anti-Semitic imagery on Twitter and has promoted riots at the Republican National Convention. If we want to stop Donald Trump’s racist rhetoric from spreading, then we keep biased political commentators like Corey Lewandowski and Scottie Nell Hughes from appearing on networks like CNN. We demand that CNN terminates Corey Lewandowski and Scottie Nell Hughes’ contracts and removes them from the network immediately!1,024 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Juan Escalante

Stop the Islandia Casino Now (exit 58, where the Marriott is located)*Updates noted at bottom. WE REJECT that, after OTB admitted major losses ($30 million), Albany’s answer was the Casino, placed in the midst of an established residential, school and business area. WE REJECT the huge FINANCIAL AND SOCIAL BURDENS that will befall our suburban and semi-rural communities: dramatically increased traffic, property taxes, theft crimes, fire/ rescue calls, and property depreciation. WE REJECT the proposed Las Vegas-style neon signs and billboards advertising the casino along our suburban highways. WE REJECT the political deception because a vote against the casino referendum was still a vote for the video lottery terminals (VLTs). WE REJECT the Board of Trustees in Islandia voting for this project. The majority of community came out to the town meeting voicing opposition to this project in our neighborhood. Residents of Islandia and surrounding Islip, Hauppauge and Smithtown are saying NO. Petitions by hundreds of residents were submitted. No Casino! THEREFORE, we call upon you to immediately rescind the authorization for 1,000 video lottery terminals in each county to be operated by Nassau and Suffolk County Off Track Betting (OTB) corporations. We ask the Senators and Assemblymen to co- sponsor and pass Assemblyman Fitzpatrick's Bill A.5187 to repeal Video Lottery Gaming on Long Island. Update: Islandia officials cancelled a meeting Tuesday July 12th at where they were to vote on this controversial Suffolk OTB plan to open a mini casino in the village. The Board has not stated on their site new date. Unite, spread the word, starting with Islandia and the neighborhoods in the 10 mile radius of this project. Because this is a TIME SENSITIVE ISSUE - Sign the petition - REACH OUT to a friend, relative or neighbor in Islandia - Then share with Suffolk County connections and everyone you know! - Visit Facebook page: A CALL TO ACTION, ISLANDIA. NO CASINO. like page, set to be notified Also email: Allan M. Dorman, Mayor // [email protected] Diane F.
