Vapor is scientifically proven to be a far less toxic alternative to tobacco smoke and is part of the solution to smoking. The positions taken by the state and anti-tobacco advocacy organizations that have testified on this bill ignore the wide and growing body of science that shows vapor to be minimally toxic to users, effectively nontoxic to bystanders, and potentially a huge public health benefit. Honolulu is one of many municipalities that is under the negative influence of anti-tobacco organizations and advocacy groups on the topic of ecigarettes/vapor products. These groups are dependent on tobacco sales and use to survive. They are funded by the tobacco Master Settlement Agreement as well as large corporate donations from pharmaceutical companies that sell nicotine therapy products and smoking cessation drugs. Many politicians involved also receive funding from similar sources. Ecigarettes/vapor products are a disruptive technology that is succeeding in replacing smoking from the grassroots on up, which is rapidly solving the problem of smoking tobacco. This is rendering anti-tobacco advocacy groups unnecessary and cutting into corporate profits. The current anti-vapor stance of these groups is not about public health, but about their continued survival as the rate of tobacco smoking in the US declines, in part thanks to ecigarettes/vapor products.

BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME is a disorder that has gotten little publicity so little research has been done. This is a debilitating disorder and we need big research companies and pharmaceutical companies to do research and come up with a cure for us. So far we know it's from the firing of nerves in the tongue. This causes debilitating pain in bms members. It feels like a hot coal is placed on your tongue. People have lost or had to quit their jobs. I've had this disorder for 15 yrs and was bedridden until I was given an addictive drug. More problems but that's what it comes down to. We need better meds!! We need more publicity and for bms to come out into the open. Bms is so debilitating that many have said they can't go on. They see no future...PLEASE HELP US!!

I really hate spiders!

The bench in question was always used day in and day out by people and customers of a tax paying business in Ilwaco. The city clearly has bigger things they should focus on than "maintaining" a bench made out of milk gallons, but we don't need to get into that.

Recently the state of Georgia enabled liquor stores to open on Sundays without having to sell food. In order for a restaurant or bar that sells food to be open on Sunday their food sales (for the year) have to account for more than 50% of their total sales. Restaurants and bars that sell food often have to drastically reduce the prices of the drinks that contain alcohol in order to meet that requirement. This in turn lowers sales, profits and possible tax revenue.

Goodell has lied about the circumstances surrounding his mismanagement and "double-jeopardy" actions regarding the Ray Rice matter. He has been reactionary and overly influenced by the public relations opportunities of prior matters (proposing a "potty-mouth" rule for players; proposing an extension of extra-points that would create a manifest change in the way the game is played; punishing players to a harsher degree than coaches, owners and other non-playing personnel).

Let us learn from the past and never forget. In 1941, without a trial or charges of wrong-doing, over 2,300 Japanese Americans living in Hawai‘i were arrested and detained in county jails, prisons and internment camps like Honouliuli. For the past ten years, the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i has worked to preserve the historical site, document the experiences of the former internees and teach the lessons of the Japanese American internment. Honouliuli is a reminder of our civil rights and our shared responsibility to uphold the Constitution for all people, at all times.

I would like to petition for 9/11th to be a national day of remembrance. Too many people lost their lives that day and they mourn as we do for the lives lost on that horrifying day. We have a memorial of 9/11. So I don't understand why it hasn't been a national day of remembrance. We already have a memorial day and that I understand but this was during our lifetime 13 years ago. We had people who lived here and all over the world that lost their lives that day and the families still mourn over them and people that didn't even know the ones who died still mourn over that day and this is why I would like to petition this to be a national day of remembrance day. It needs to be a day for people to have off of work and off of schools so they can have it as a historical day.

Richard Bruce Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes II, Jay Bybee and John Yoo have been convicted by the War Crimes Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as war criminals for torture and inhumane treatment of war crime victims at US military facilities. These war criminals are unable to travel outside of the United States for fear that they will be arrested. The fact that the United States has not held these individuals accountable for their glaring crimes against humanity is a travesty of justice! The LEAST you can do is not provide Richard Bruce Cheney or any of these other criminals with a platform from which they can spew their hateful lies and attempt to revise history in their favor! Every time one of them emerges from hiding and is treated as if he is able to offer an expert opinion about ANYTHING is an affront to every American citizen! Enough! Stop inflicting these WAR CRIMINALS upon the American public!

Announcing your position against the Mayor's ban of horse drawn carriages leaves one less vote towards a progressive, safer, more humane NYC. Stand with the majority of your fellow New Yorkers and reverse your stance on not supporting the ban, especially when there are better solutions to keep jobs surrounding NYC's tourism industry. You have a chance to stand with the right side of the city that denounces the abuse of animals and advocates for real public safety.

I'm personally affected by this as my daughter has been struggling and I do not know where to start to get some awareness out there and educate our teachers and staff of our schools on Auditory Processing Disorder.
