  • Beer and wine sales for Mythos Restaurant
Our restaurant's location, 2030 W. Montrose, Chicago located 1 block west of Damen Ave., has been listed in a "no alcohol" moratorium since BEFORE the prohibition, making this ruling antiquated. It would behoove the State of Illinois and the city of Chicago to lift this ban and allow for a beer and wine license. Our hours of operation are after 5:00pm. We are currently a BYOB restaurant, which offers no return revenue for the state of Illinois, the city of Chicago or our small establishment. We have been in business since 2007

  • Mayor De Blasio: Rewrite Rent Control Laws in NYC
New York City has been home to a business sector that is unique due to its lack of corporate chains, and a diverse population that can always somehow find a way to make it in NYC. All of that has changed over the last decade, as commercial property owners have been allowed to raise rents beyond a level that small businesses can afford, and renters are pushed out of their homes and communities to make way for wealthy tenants. Rent control laws must be rewritten to account for inflation and higher costs of living, so that New York can keep its diversity and integrity intact.

  • Petition in Support of New Signage Plan at Lincoln Village
Lincoln Village is one of the major development parcels in our community, and it is set to return to being one of our most important activity and amenity centers. We have seen the center decline over the years, in part because of the changed landscape of highway infrastructure surrounding it. It has become buried in the adjacent highway. For this reason, many tenants have either failed at the center or have chosen to or had to relocate to other properties. Updated, visible signage will help tenants like the ones we have lost be seen on the site so that patrons can find them and utilize their businesses. Although we know the Board has been very cautious in the past about allowing increased sign heights on any property, we believe that in this location taller, larger, and more unique signs will not create any blemish whatsoever on the surrounding landscape while greatly benefiting the ability of Lincoln Village’s tenants to thrive. In fact, we think that attractive signage at this site will actually serve to enhance the landscape and improve it.

Oppies Law is a common law just like the Amish common laws. This will allow cannabis and hemp to be used and have the same guidelines of a common law.

  • Bring the Jolly Rooster Home to Live Oak
The Jolly Rooster was a Live Oak icon for many years. He stood proudly on a building located at the intersection of our towns only stoplight. You could give directions to out of towners based solely on their proximity to this colossal Cockalorum. Then he disappeared..... We want him back!

  • California Teachers For Prop 46—Patient Safety
PLEASE—ONLY SIGN IF YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA TEACHER! The LEADERS of the California Teachers Association recently came out as opposed to Prop 46 for patient safety, a decision they made without asking all of its members. This petition is meant to gather up the support of ALL California Teachers, not just the leaders of the CTA, and come up with a stalwart group of educators, who wish to keep patients safe in California. It is also meant to show the leaders of the CTA and all California voters, that the leaders of organizations don't always speak for the members, unless all the members have had a chance to voice their own opinions as well. The opposition is already advertising that "TEACHERS are against Prop 46," and that's simply not true. California teacher, Tammy Smick, lost her son to medical negligence. She has already gathered a large group of teacher support. We hope if you're a teacher, you'll join her! You can find more about her story here: https://www.yeson46.org/stories/alex-smick/
