"Citizen Koch" was pulled from a national public television broadcast because of fear of upsetting David Koch, who has been a major donor to public television. But public television stations should answer to viewers like me, not to billionaires like the Koch brothers -- and I want to see this important documentary. Will you join the call for a national broadcast of "Citizen Koch" on Independent Lens?

The Brachs factory is facing demolition the 32 acres the land sits on should be used for a new Austin community school and performing arts center. The city is offering $10.6 million in TIF money to demolish it but that very money can help fund the Root2Fruit development campus which includes a new area school and a performing arts center both are critically needed in the community.

The foreclosure crisis threatens our economy, society and families from achieving the American Dream. Finally, someone found a no-cost way to turn your name and address into a powerful weapon against the greedy banks. Just want to make sure this feature works properly

Our county-owned nursing home, Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, provides end-of-life and restorative care for our citizens who need care and who have exhausted all of their resources. We must fight this because: *Our home receives the highest marks for the excellent care given to its residents & their families by professional, caring staff. *There has been no suggestion or evidence of mismanagement of the home. *Most of the residents were not accepted at privately owned facilities. *It accepts all Franklin County citizens regardless of their ability to pay. *It does not pose an unreasonable burden on our county budget. *County Commissioners have given no reason for the sale.

There is nothing more important to democracy than free and fair elections. The Republican Party has been doing everything it can, from gerrymandered districts to opening up new hidden ways for special interests to funnel money into elections without exposure, to the new restrictive voting laws. Elections in North Carolina are no longer open, fair, nor conducted in the interest of the people, but rather the rich, the corporations and the morality authorocrats, in short, the Republican Party

Our Junction City Baseball/Softball Field is subject to being used as a parking lot and camping area for events that are too large to be at the Park area only. We want a stop to this as to it effects the grounds in which our children and adults play on.

My ex-son-in-law was killed in a motorcycle accident Jan 2013. He named his on-again-off-again girlfriend as beneficiary during company re-enrollment in the fall of 2012. He has two minor children. The girlfriend received $401,000 in life insurance and AD&D benefits. She will not share the money with his children. I would like to see something changed in the law so that when a person has minor children they MUST be named beneficiaries in order that a trust can be set up for them and they receive the proceeds of the insurance coverage.

I have been struggling with Child Protective Services for over 3 years, attempting to regain custody of my son, I've completed most of every task that has been handed to me. My case was opened then closed before I could fully complete what they said was required of me. All I want is some justice to be done and for my son to be with his biological mother that care so much for him. My son was removed from me because of rumors, and not facts, I was told he was taken away because of medical neglect, no investigations were completed and no facts were gathered at the time he was taken. Why have me struggle for over 3 years if they never planned on placing my son back into my custody? It feels like the services that were set in place to help parents reunite with their children fail society, as if its better to keep family separated from each other. More help should be provided for parents that care enough to jump through hoops and actually want their children back. This is hard emotionally and has been going on for too long, it feels like I'm getting the run around and that I'll be fighting for my motherly rights for a while. I am a disabled mother of two and I am still capable of doing what normal people are able to do regardless of what I have been told. I also think I shouldn't be forced to pay child support if I'm willing and capable of taking care of my son and want him home with me.I feel like this issue is important for the fact that it happens to a lot of people and help from child services seem to be limited or none at all. I should have been getting more help from services instead of being left to find answers for myself.
