Prohibiting the practice of giving away live animals, fish, hermit crabs lizards etc as prizes would save many of them from cruelty. Winning a animal or fish is done on impulse and rarely do the recipients have the resources for them when they arrive home to care for them. I have seen fish in bags discarded in trash receptacles at the fair and many others die from the heat and being brought on rides. Many towns and cities in other states have banned the practice. Maryland is a progressive state and should do the same. There are better, more suitable prizes available that don't have the inherent cruelty of giving a live animal as a prize.

Conservatives are not the only ones concerned about 2nd amendment rights. Some of us do not agree with all the recent talk about gun control. More gun laws will not solve the problem of violence in our society. Keep the progressives right to own the most popular semi-automatic sporting arms and high capacity magazines available.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid once again demonstrated his unwillingness to challenge Republican obstructionism by refusing to support strong filibuster reform introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon. Heck NO.. let them walk a day in our shoes and see how fast they would pay us more!! Just like Congress put them on $8 an hr and see how fast wages like these would change....!!!!

In December of 2012 the Rockford Area Realtors began use of an archaic MLS called Paragon 5. This was not the best product available in the market place. We are being forced to move backward while the advent of public facing websites and apps trump our own abilities with our MLS. Essentially the use of the Paragon MLS has handicapped Rockford Realtor members from the general public’s own access to information. If we do not have better, easier and faster access to home information than the public we are in serious trouble.
