  • Dumb Sequester Deal
It looks like Obama's really dropped the ball this time. The sequester agreement that would've gone into effect on Jan.1st protected SS, Medicaid and Medicare from cuts. In the 11th hour, he signed a temporary fix with another sequester agreement going into effect on Mar.1st that does not(!?!) It's time to raise holy hell with him, Congress and the Senate. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/13/sequester-entitlement-cuts_n_2677439.html

  • Stop the War on Single Mothers
No one questions the benefits of a happy, healthy marriage. However, the government should not be in the business of promoting something that should remain a personal choice of the individuals involved. Not only that, the government should not be in the position of choosing which man a mother will marry, which is exactly what these bills, initiatives, and resolutions propose to do. These women are encouraged to marry the fathers of their children over and above any other men who may be more appropriate and suitable for them. That fatherhood programs have dealt insufficiently with parenting, poverty, employment, and economic issues. Proper attention is not given to the fathers' personal histories, including addictions, history of incarceration for serious crimes, character defects, domestic violence and child abuse. These programs discriminate against mothers, especially poor mothers. They denigrate family forms outside that of the traditional, two-parent married household. In particular, single and divorced mother homes are debased by the dissemination of specious "fatherlessness" statistics

  • Alimony Reform
Although California is considered ahead of many of the other states regarding Alimony, we are still living in the dark ages when it comes to opportunity for divorced couples where there are no children, no major assets and where one of the spouses did not work during the marriage. We need to end the court's unlimited jurisdiction over alimony disguised as "spousal support". Regardless of the length of marriage, limits should be set on spousal support. I propose a 5 year maximum spousal support for long term marriages over 20 years to allow the non-working spouse to become self-supporting or to remarry. The standard should be 3 years, and under extreme circumstances 5.

  • Run the MARC train on weekends
The MARC train is the only public transportation available to people to go to baltimore and the counties in between washington and baltimore on the weekends. It is very fast and convenient, should be made available to people on weekends as well as during the weekend. What during the week is a 20 minute trip for me to odenton takes about 2 hours on the weekend and someone has to pick me up at a very far bus stop in pointer ridge which is the only bus on weekends in anne arundel. Besides the PENN line the other Marc lines are just as important and should also be run on weekends.

  • $8 Billion Surplus for the Citizens of Texas
To propose to the State of Texas legislature on what "critical" issues of state that this surplus should be spent on. Exclusively, designated, nothing else but these needs. From seeing how our education system is basically suffering and last in the nation, I do not want my grandchildren to have to suffer from a State that only proposes cuts to education. To use monies for infrastructure repair across the state which will benefit all and will employ thousands of Texans. To use monies for our healthcare system, to help treat all Texans, including children, women and men. Lastly to use the rest of the remaining balance to refund each taxpayer "equally" of Texas which will be used to support businesses, bring more taxes into the coffers to use on further needs of the State and help families, taxpayers struggling, so they can pay off some bills so that they will have more money to spend in the State of Texas. I and all Texans will benefit from all of these proposals.
