Caution sign and flashing lights signalIn Wasatch County, Utah on US Highway 40 at mile marker 40 there is a 3-directional intersection. There have been several accidents here but none more devastating to myself then the horrific car accident that took place on Saturday, July 13th, 2019, which claimed the life of my son. Just before this point, there is a slight Bend in the road as well as a slight incline. For the sake and safety of others, I am petitioning that a caution sign stating intersection ahead please slow down along with some flashing lights be implemented in an attempt to help acknowledge as well as make the countless Travelers aware of the upcoming intersection. Maybe have these already been in place my son would still be here with me today. So in honor of my son, I am respectfully petitioning that these simple warning indicators be secured and utilized.228 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Monica Chidester

Preserve Honeydew Creek's Community ParkThis petition addresses the desirability of preserving the functionality to the fullest degree of the Honeydew Creek BLM Campground. The quality of life of all residents of the lower Mattole Valley and the desirability of the King Range as a destination eco-tourism attraction to hundreds of others are jeopardized by plans to downsize the facility.190 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Peter Marshall

Change The No Bruise No Blood law.My little sister took her distraught friend, who was only 12 years old, to our apartment because she was scared of her mother. Her mother verbally abuses her and tonight pulled her hair and slapped her across the face. So she took her kitten and wanted to spend the night because she was scared she would be hurt when her mother returned from drinking. Soon her mother came to our home screaming and tried to drag her daughter out with force. Her daughter cried and begged that she didn't want to go and that she was scared. We separated her from her mom and the child begged to call the police. We did because her mother had gotten violent and shoved me and grabbed my younger cousin in an attempt to get to her kid. The cops came, questioned everyone, and decided to let the mother take her terrified child back to their house. The cops said that the girl should only call if she had a bruise or bleeding because any kind of physical punishment was okay unless they caused one or the other, and unless the child was scared for her life they wouldn't help her.43 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Layne

Declare a Housing and Homelessness State of EmergencyIn Lane County, the Point-in-Time report showed we had a 44% increase in the total number of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. On the night of the count, more than 2,000 people lacked housing and adequate standards of living. Homelessness leads to other human rights violations among the most vulnerable. Women face violence and sexual abuse. Persons who are rendered homeless are challenged to survive. There are thousands of people living in their vehicles and outdoors in our community. We need policies that do not ignore this reality but instead take actions that address this crisis immediately. Some of the immediate areas a housing and homeless state of emergency declaration can address, which would help make the TAC report implementation possible are: expanding safe and legal parking places for individuals and families living in RVs or other vehicles; developing year-round campgrounds; permitting alternative shelter options that allow people to stay with their pets, partners and possessions; initiating a temporary moratorium on the conversion of affordable housing into other uses; expediting permitting and siting for building more affordable housing units; facilitating more mobile-home park and Single Room Occupancy buildings (SROs); and putting vacant buildings, such as the Armory, into service for winter and extreme weather events. An emergency declaration could help streamline government procedures in order to act more quickly and utilize our community resources more effectively. Please move this forward to help eliminate the systemic barriers to equitable treatment and address this escalating human rights crisis that is homelessness in Lane County.122 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Heather Sielicki

Revitalize hovey Playground to be safe for kidsHovey Playground has aging equipment that has chipped paint, ripped swings, broken and all metal equipment, which has been unsafe for the neighborhood kids. There is little equipment for children under 5 and most of the parks in Lowell have been upgraded except for this one, which has been left to slowly decay. I would like to see the town address this problem and see more children being able to enjoy it.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tara celeste

Save Hubbard County Social Services!Hubbard County Social Services provides support to the most vulnerable members of the community: abused and neglected children and adults. The current leadership has caused a toxic work environment, leading to over 50% staff turnover in two years. Last year, the county board decided that in lieu of investigating the problem, they would hire a consultant to find out why the department has become so dysfunctional. Since then, the board has refused to abide by the consultant’s recommendations. Between hiring and ignoring an expensive consultant and paying for interviewing, hiring, and training new staff, the county board is wasting tens of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money, all while continuing to put the community members who rely on county services at serious risk.765 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Claire Thiele

Bring fiberoptic internet to our areaI live in a rural area of Lucasville OH and we have had extremely unreliable phone and internet service for years. The areas we experience trouble is Rush, Union and Morgan townships, specifically. We rely on land lines because of a lack of cell towers and reliable cell signal. There are elderly and disabled individuals who desperately need working communication services. We have been told by Frontier customer service that we are getting fiberoptic internet in our area, only to be informed later by service technicians that we will not be getting it on our road or those past us. We pay for services not being rendered. The bill comes regardless of whether or not we have service and we pay because we have no other alternatives. We are formally requesting that fiberoptic internet and reliable phone service be provided in our areas as soon as possible.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by K. Wilson
