Defend Pregnant Women’s Rights!Peggy bravely stood up to UPS for violating the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and now her case is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it will be heard on Wednesday, December 3rd. When Peggy Young, a UPS driver for 10 years, found out she was pregnant, her doctor recommended that she avoid lifting more than 20 pounds. But UPS refused her request for “light duty” — even though the company provided accommodations to people with disabilities, on-the-job injuries, and even to people who had lost their drivers’ licenses as a result of DUI convictions. Instead, Peggy was pushed onto unpaid leave for the duration of her pregnancy and lost her UPS-provided health benefits when she needed them most. [1] Send this SuperMom a message of support for standing up for her rights and the rights of pregnant workers across the nation. Sign our note AND leave a personalized message of your own! * We’ll make a giant Thank You card for Peggy with your signature on it, and will hand-deliver each message of support (along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a MomsRising t-shirt!) to Peggy and her legal team on Wednesday, December 3rd, the day her case (Peggy Young vs. UPS) will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. MAKE HISTORY! HELP ILLINOIS RATIFY THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENTEvery constitution written since the end of WWII includes a provision that men and women are equal citizens. The U.S. Constitution has no such provision. Attempts over more than 200 years have been unsuccessful. Equality is long overdue - in the workplace and in institutions throughout our society. This is a civil rights issue. Pass the ERA for your own sake, for your mothers, your wives, your daughters, your sisters! Help us make Illinois the 36th state to ratify the ERA. Tell the Illinois House of Representatives to vote "YES" now, during veto session.85 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maureen Headington

Dartmouth Alumni Magazine: Stop being SexistAlumni, students, faculty, and parents have a vision for an inclusive and equitable Dartmouth. But Dartmouth Alumni Magazine (DAM) is turning back the clock by publishing a racist and sexist admonishment to women and people of color to have "good manners" and be grateful for being accepted to such a prestigious institution. A conversation about the future of the college should include diverse perspectives. However, editors of a publication that is sent to all alumni, and is widely available on campus for students and community members, should have better judgment than to publish racist and sexist letters that are intended to offend. Such outdated and offensive views only contribute to the culture that tells minorities to accept the status quo--and that must stop. Dartmouth Alumni Magazine seeks to represent every member of the Dartmouth Community. It must hold itself to a higher standard and move the conversation forward, not backward.421 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Kaili Lambe

Let's Hold Them AccountableWhen Mitch McConnell is sworn in as majority leader in January, he’ll be surrounded by at least six new anti-choice senators. Here’s the thing: Anti-choice candidates didn’t win by running on their beliefs – they won by running on ours. Voters didn’t send these Republican freshmen to Washington to roll back our reproductive freedom. More than 50 percent of voters in Iowa and Colorado who support abortion rights backed Gardner and Ernst. Now that we’ve lost the Senate, our top priority is to force the freshmen Republicans to keep the promises they made to the voters who put them in office to focus on expanding job opportunities and economic security for everyone.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by NARAL Pro-Choice America

Keep Our Campuses Safe (Disallow Promotion of Rape Culture)This man yells at female students calling them whores in the middle of campus. He yells homophobic, sexist slurs and tells everyone they are going to hell. His female counterpart holds a sign "you deserve hell." He promotes insensitivity to rape survivors. He is negatively affecting the learning environment and causing severe anxiety for recent sexual assault victims.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by O

Iron Women NEED to ROWCurrently at the Regional and National United States Lifesaving Association' competitions, the men's American Ironman event consists of a swim, paddle, row, and run, but the women's American Ironwoman event only consists of a swim, paddle, and run. The row event should be added to the women's race, so that the women's event is the same as the men's. Female lifeguards put their life on the line every day and do the same job as the men on the beach. They too should have the opportunity to compete in the full event to show their strength, power and knowledge as well of the surf boat category. This would also benefit United States Lifesaving Association for publicity not only to recognize Ocean Lifeguarding , but also USLA’s name. Meanwhile supporting women's equality and breaking the barrier and reasoning behind not adding singles row for women to American iron women . * In June 2015 the South East Regional level has adopted these changes for regional only. Other regions and National level, women are still being denied the right to row.372 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Tiffany LaCasse-Johnson

Tell Fox News: Fire Kimberly Guilfoyle for telling young women they shouldn't voteKimberly Guilfoyle, co-host of the Fox News show 'The Five', recently suggested that young women shouldn't vote in the upcoming midterm elections. According to Guilfoyle, young women lack the life experience necessary to cast a ballot. Instead, she says "They can go back on Tinder or Match.com." Women have had the right to vote for less than a century in this country, and now Guilfoyle is discouraging women from exercising that right. Your vote is your voice in our democracy. It is the way we all express our opinions on various issues that affect our lives. Does Kimberly Guilfoyle believe that young women are un-affected by issues like workplace benefits such as paid family and medical leave, decent wages, access to affordable, quality health care, and more? Or does she just not think young women deserve to be part of our democracy? Everyone, young women included, has the right to vote on November 4th and no one should ever be told they don't matter in our democratic process. Fox News has frequently missed the mark, but they should be especially ashamed to employ someone who wants to disenfranchise young women. Sign now and call on Fox News to fire Guilfoyle.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lindsay Farrell

A Proper Sentence for Oscar Pistorius!Oscar Pistorius has a history of obsession with guns and domestic violence "incidents" as documented by his former girlfriend Samantha Taylor and police spokeswoman Brigadier Denise Beukes. Today, NPR reported that: "Correctional services officer Joel Maringa says the sentence Oscar Pistorius should receive would be three years of house arrest with strict monitoring — no guns, no drugs, no alcohol — and the attendance of support programs, along with 16 hours of community service a month, likely cleaning a local museum or hospital, to compensate society 'for the wrong he has done.'" This, for the life of an innocent woman?! UNACCEPTABLE! In the United States three women PER DAY are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends. Each MINUTE, 24 people endure domestic violence. In fact, the presence of a firearm in a domestic violence situation increased the risk of homicide by 500 percent! Tell Hon. Thokozile Masipa that she needs to send Pistorius and the rest of the world a message - WE WILL NOT STAND FOR IT ANY LONGER! Honor the legacy of the beautiful Reeva Steenkamp and the other angels whose lives were cut short by domestic violence. Demand equal pay for equal workAt Make It Work, we believe women should be treated as equals in the workplace -- and that it’s about time our representatives recognized that, too. Too often, women get paid less for equal work. That's insane, it's 2014! Equal pay is fair, and long overdue. It's not just the right thing to do -- it's good for the economy. Election Day is right around the corner. There’s no better time to send a message to candidates that if they want our votes, they need to show they’ll fight to make this country a fairer place to live and work for ALL of us. Equal pay policies not only support women in the workplace, they ensure that everyone, no matter their gender, can work to support themselves and their families at home. We won’t wait another two years to be heard. Together, we can change the conversation, but we need as many voices as possible to join in. Add your name to demand the equal pay for equal work.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vivien Labaton

Randy Ross: Issue a public apology for your sexist remarks, and hold a public event in support o...“Well, you know, the reality is, the most of the time Tiffany Moore Russell was in office, she was having babies,” Ross charged. “You want to get to the real point? I mean, she hasn’t really been that engaged.” – Randy Ross, 10/5/14 Help us hold Randy Ross accountable for his words. Let’s demand Randy Ross publicly apologize and admit to the hardships women face when running and serving in office. Research shows that women are 50% less likely than men to seriously consider running for office, and sexist remarks are one of the many reasons why women decide not to run. With the disproportionately low numbers of women in office, we must come together as a community and speak out against blatant sexism. Let’s make sure Randy Ross understands the obstacles women like Tiffany Moore Russell face when running for office. He must be held accountable for his sexist remarks. Join us in demanding a public apology from Randy Ross. We want to be sure he truly understands the hardships women face when running and serving in office. We don’t just want an apology from Randy; that doesn’t solve the problem. What we need from Randy is a true understanding of what Tiffany Moore Russell and other women are going through. We want Randy to hold a public event explaining what women have to go through and why they should get paid leave; why we need Congress to pass the family act now! It’s hard enough to get qualified women to believe they are qualified and run for office without sexist remarks or fear of sexism scaring them off. We need to teach Randy and Central Florida a lesson; that you can’t just say anything and get away with it scot-free. We will hold you accountable for your words. Help us hold Randy accountable and demand that he hold an event on paid family leave.192 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Nicole Varma
