Women are not incubators!Louisiana HB1274 (which was HB348) forces women to be kept on life support as human incubators. Instead of honoring her wishes (even in a living will), family wishes, and medical advice, this bill says the government can decide for you. There is no exception for suffering, no accounting for a severely impaired fetus, and no explanation of who will pay for this unwanted care.107 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Michael Rothrock

Make Ron Hextall the GM of the Philadelphia FlyersAs a lifelong Flyers' fan I have seen......seasons ending far too soon, free agency players let go by the wayside, excellent players traded away to other teams only to go on and contribute & win Stanley Cups! Let's not forget the players past their prime acquired & those many contracts with far too much time & money written into them! We are the loyalest fan base in the NHL & deserve more than "next year"! Paul Holmgren has had 8 seasons as a GM and gotten us nowhere. Hexy is back, give him & your fans a chance!34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wendy Gumpper

Pornography opt-in/opt-outThrough studying the trends of young relationships I have found the issue of objectification of women is altering the way relationships are developing today. I believe that pornography teaches young adults to objectify women. When it is accessed at a very early age, and becomes a teenager's first exposure to sex, their view of sex and relationships can become horribly skewed. I don't want to see young adults begin treating women as an object because of pornography, when Internet providers have the ability to restrict this.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Wagner

We demand the truth in the FSU rape case!As colleges and universities across the country face rising outrage over how they deal with sexual assault, this latest case is a textbook example of how successful athletes are protected at the cost of their victims.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Call on the NYC Council to Adopt CEDAWSo many women today face discrimination on a daily basis--whether in the workplace, at home, in their personal lives, or in any other domain--that goes largely unnoticed by society but that we must work to stop. CEDAW outlines provisions key to ending discrimination against women and to protecting women's equality and fair treatment. It is a United Nations resolution that the United States has not ratified but that cities around the county, such as San Francisco, are acting on and adopting.41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jonathan Eckman

It's time to fight back against on-campus assaults!“The price of a college education should not include a 1 in 5 chance of being sexually assaulted." Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Claire McCaskill are tired of colleges ignoring sexual assault, flouting survivor protection laws, and blaming victims for their rape. They have a plan to enforce the Clery Act, which requires colleges to disclose assaults on and off-campus, bolster Title IX protections that provide staff for survivors, and expand the Violence Against Women Act to better protect students. But they need appropriations subcommittee chairman Sen. Tom Harkin to sign on for the money needed for the Department of Education and Office of Civil Rights to get it done — and if we don't speak up, college assaults will continue to be an everyday horror ignored by millions. Will you call on the chairman to put an end to college sexual assaults?103 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Women's Rights for LatinasIn modern society, many women are still not treated as equals to men. They are quite often subject to severe sexism, violence, and lack of education in Latin American communities.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Audrey Wong

Gender Equality in the WorkplaceWomen are largely absent from the top levels of corporate management, only 7 out of 100 of the highest earning CEOs in America are women! The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Office has recently issued some strong and detailed recommendations for removing barriers for equal pay and improve the status for women in the workplace. The Paycheck Fairness Act was a good beginning to the fight for equality, don't let this issue be set aside so easily. Tell the White House and Congress that this bill needs to be re-introduced and then passed!84 of 100 SignaturesCreated by donna magee

Pass the Paycheck Fairness ActSince the passage of the Equal Pay act of 1963 the pay gap has improved but not nearly enough. Over the past decade the wage gap in Maine has improved by only 3 percent. This disparity impacts all Mainers. It not only restricts opportunity for women but also limits ways mothers can provide for their children. Senior women will find it harder to retired while more Maine children are raised in poverty. We need to broaden career choices for women, expand the minimum wage, enforce equal employment laws and eliminate discrimination in the work place.184 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Emily Cain

Pass the Paycheck Fairness Act -- We Need Equal Pay for Equal Work!Women are paid, on average, 77 to 86 cents for every dollar a man is paid -- for the same amount of work. To address this, the House of Representatives passed the Paycheck Fairness Act in 2009, of which I was a proud original co-sponsor. This bill would finally end discriminatory pay practices based on gender. Five years later, this bill is still not law due to the obstructionism in the U.S. Senate. This week, the Senate will be reconsidering the Paycheck Fairness Act again. Please sign and share this petition urging the Senate to pass this bill -- it’s time we had equal pay for equal work for women.76 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Sestak
