  • Suspend from Toyota USA from from the NFL
We are asking that John Elway (Franchisee) and Toyota be banned from the NFL for their company’s exploitation of women who bring their cars to Toyota dealerships for service repairs. John Elway’s Crown Toyota service representative told my 20 year old daughter that our 2005 Toyota Corolla would blow up on her as she drove home if she did not agree to purchase the “suggested costly services” now. Toyota's top priority should be on building safe cars and not exploiting women customers.

  • Pass The Violence Against Women Act
Since its original passage in 1994, VAWA has dramatically enhanced our nation’s response to violence against women. More victims report domestic violence to the police and the rate of non-fatal intimate partner violence against women has decreased by 53%. The sexual assault services program in VAWA helps rape crisis centers keep their doors open to provide the frontline response to victims of rape. VAWA provides for a coordinated community approach, improving collaboration between law enforcement and victim services providers to better meet the needs of victims. These comprehensive and cost-effective programs not only save lives, they also save money. In fact, VAWA saved nearly $12.6 billion in net averted social costs in just its first six years.

  • Judge Johnson Is A Disgrace To The Bench
As a friend and family member of rape victims I know firsthand the lifelong trauma rape engenders. Judge Derek G. Johnson is a disgrace to both the judiciary and humanity for his rulings literally in sympathy with rapists over their victims. He needs to step down or be removed.

  • Military Women's Right to an Abortion
General Colin Powell and Senator Jeanne Shaheen want to protect the women in the military with their rights. Women need the right to care and make choices about their own bodies. Abortion is always an option for an unwanted pregnancy. Certainly it is a woman's decision, to choose where and when we want to have children.

  • American Apparel: Stop the Sexualization of Girlhood
I am the co-author of The Sexualization of Girls and Girlhood: Causes, Consequences and Resistance, Oxford University Press. American Apparel ads are among the most egregious examples of posing models in "barely legal" and "homemade style" shoots, and this must stop.

  • Dana Perino - please apologise
Dana Perino of FOX news insinuating that female victims of violence made poor decisions that led to the acts of violence are insensitive and totally wrong. Perhaps in some instances, the female victim could have been more careful - in hindsight. To make a general statement that female victims of violence should have made better decisions is totally wrong, ignorant and insensitive.
