I have spent years of volunteer work at food banks to help needy families and neighbors. Food banks help working families who are trying to make ends meet fight hunger. Fighting hunger will increase productivity at work and school. I want to fight with the senate to restore this funding

I am a pre-existing condition, the very person who they have said is not worthy of care. All human beings are worthy of care, and if our government is going to make a law, they cannot "except themselves from it" in fact, it would be easiest to just give every single American the same fabulous health insurance you enjoy, on our dime. Simply put, if our taxes pay your salary, and we are in charge of what we do with our taxes, we want it to go to Universalized Health Care, for every damned one of us. WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, IN THIS BUSINESS WE CALL GOVERNMENT.

My petition is about having the politicians understand what it is like to be a United States of America citizen. It's easy to agree on something so detrimental as Trumpcare, if it doesn't affect you or your family. It is obvious that certain Individuals of Congress have no idea what it feels like to worry about not having adequate healthcare! One Republican Congressman said "No one dies from not having healthcare!" Another Republican Congressman implied that only people who don't take care of themselves get sick, so why should the people who take care of themselves have to pay more money! Seriously, pre-existing conditions happen to most people who are active! They even happen to lawmakers! I'm a therapist, concerned for my clients, who are terrified that they or their love one might not get the medical care that they need or deserve. My friends and family, as well as myself, also have pre-existing conditions. It's time to demand that these lawmakers get out of their ivory tower and join the real world!

Millions of Americans depend on the ACA for their healthcare. This new bill will leave them uninsured. Access to healthcare should not be a partisan issue, it should be a right of every American.

By speaking out on Yemen, Ivanka could single-handedly save millions of Yemenis from famine, because the main cause pushing Yemen towards famine is the Saudi war and blockade that the U.S. is backing. Aid groups, the UN, former US officials and 55 House Members have warned that if the U.S. helps Saudi Arabia attack the Yemeni port of Hodeida, that will almost certainly push Yemen into famine. [2] An 8 minute CNN interview with Jan Egeland of the Norwegian Refugee Council has the information Ivanka needs to convince Dad to spare Hodeida. Egeland told CNN: "There is one port here called Hodeida where we get all of the relief through and where most of the commercial import has come through. That port is now threatened by attack. Nick Melvoin is running for school board and one of Trump’s biggest backers in California along with a host of billionaires are pumping money into his campaign. Their money is funding deceptive mailers, misleading people about incumbent school board member and teacher Steve Zimmer's record. As a teacher in this district, I’m disgusted that these billionaire special interest groups are influencing this election. These are people who’ve never sent their kids to our schools, but because they have so much money, they get to come in and try to confuse the voters about who supports public education. In addition to one of Trump’s top donors in CA, Melvoin's donors include a board member for the right-wing Cato Institute who used to fund Betsy DeVos’ anti-public education PAC. These are people who want to bring the DeVos and Trump agenda to California. The Trump/DeVos/Melvoin agenda would undermine public education here in LA. These types of extremists don’t belong in LA politics. All of these donations were so outrageous that Hedge Clippers, a group dedicated to tracking and exposing hedge fund money in politics, issues a report about our school board race. Nick Melvoin needs to reject this money. Any direct contributions he should publicly return and he should publicly condemn any independent spending by any special interest billionaires. Congress has narrowly passed the decision to repeal Obamacare, and now the Senate will pass or deny that decision. As a member of the Senate, I am urging Lisa Murkowski to stop this repeal. I am a user of the healthcare system, and do not wish to lose coverage, as such a loss would be detrimental to my long-term health and livelihood if I were to be injured. If Congress wants to show that this healthcare plan is better, than they can lead by example by using it themselves.
