• Letter to Invoke the 25th Amendment
President Donald Trump's erratic behavior and displays of mental instability increase significantly day to day, as the world watches. This is a serious crisis that can destroy humanity permanently. This is not about ideology, political party, or the 2016 election; this is about compassion for a very troubled man who is in the position of president with access to the nuclear codes 24/7. Nothing we debate, protect, or defend will matter if Mr. Trump's limited grasp on reality results in the loss of humanity.

  • Immediately shut down all oil and gas wells in all cities in Colorado
GOVERNOR JOHN HICKENLOOPER WE DEMAND: 1.  SHUTTING DOWN ALL OIL AND GAS WELLS IN ALL RESIDENTIAL AREAS AND OUTLINING AREAS IN THE STATE OF COLORADO. AN IMMEDIATE INJUNCTION SHOULD BE PLACED ON ALL OIL AND GAS ACTIVITY. 2.  MECHANICAL INTEGRITY TESTS BE CONDUCTED IMMEDIATELY ON ALL ACTIVE AND ABANDONED OIL AND GAS WELLS IN COLORADO. 3.  CLOSURE OF THE 'SETBACK LOOPHOLE.' In 2012 I discovered a Setback Loophole and introduced a bill to close it – but unfortunately, the bill died. COGCC Rule 602(d) states: “Existing wells are exempt from the provisions of these regulations as they relate to the location of the well.” This Setback Loophole allows any ‘completed’ well to be re-entered and re-drilled regardless of proximity to a structure. And home developers are exempt from any state setbacks from oil and gas operations. This appears to be reckless endangerment and must cease and desist immediately. 4.  IMPLEMENTING A ‘REVERSE SETBACK’ for commercial developers that is based on good science health studies and current failure data to ascertain a distance from oil and gas wells that provides public health, safety and welfare and environment. 5.   CLOSURE OF THE 'WAIVER LOOPHOLE'  The ‘Waiver Loophole’ allows any operator to not abide by any rule or regulation regarding oil and gas development and operations that causes them ‘undue financial burden.’With a single sentence from the oil and gas industry that states “abiding by this rule will cause XYZ operator and its operations undue financial burden” the industry then does not have to abide by the rule or pay its expense to do so, and is then waived by a simple signature of COGCC Director Matt Lepore. 6.  THE COGCC PLACE AN IMMEDIATE HALT ON THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS not yet approved or applied for as of the March 23 Martinez verdict, and to begin a balanced process that provides public healthy, safety and environment. 7.  WE DEMAND OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO SAFETY 8.  LOCATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF ABANDONED WELLS AND FLOW-LINES UNDER OR NEAR COLORADO CITIZEN'S HOMES 9. ALL 60,000+ MILES OF FLOW-LINES IN COLORADO BE INSPECTED IMMEDIATELY. =========================================================== o 17.5% of all fracking industry spills had already caused ground water contamination in a 2012 statewide study. o 40% of spills contaminated groundwater in Weld County, where Firestone is located. My studies, were confirmed accurate two years later in 2014 by Matt Lepore, Director of the COGCC. If any company had contaminated groundwater at a 40% rate they would no doubt, be shut down. On June 12, 2012 I attended a fracking study session in Loveland, Co where I told the Mayor, planning and zoning commission they could create their own setbacks from fracking industry oil and gas wells. I told the Mayor and council they should locate every active and abandoned well in their city and outlying county and develop new homes away from existing wells in order to protect public health, safety and welfare. I recently contacted the city of Loveland to acquire the recording of said presentation, they said that they 'purged it from their system.' It no longer exists. In 2011 the COGCC requested emergency funding in Florence, CO for explosive levels of methane seeping into more than a dozen homes from an abandoned well more than 1,000’ away. The homes had to be immediately evacuated. For perspective, the home in Firestone was 170’ away from an abandoned well. There are COGCC documents that illustrate numerous homes in Colorado are built on top of abandoned oil and gas wells and in a few cases, the home exploded due to methane seepage into the basements. One person was taken to the burn center. These are some of the imposed dangers you have placed upon us Governor John Hickenlooper, and it is time you cease and desist what appears to be reckless endangerment of Colorado citizens. In addition, commercial developers can develop closer to oil and gas wells than the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commissions’ (COGCC) setbacks allow. I warned Hickenlooper and the COGCC  that an incident like Firestone would happen. He ignored me. He ignored the COGCC's own failures and in doing so, he failed to prevent the Firestone catastrophe from happening. There is no doubt a catastrophic tragedy like Firestone or worse, will happen again if the State of Colorado does not act immediately to pass statewide laws that protect the “civil rights to safety” of Colorado citizens and that of the environment and not favor the oil and gas industry. • Stop Trump profiteering and spending
I hate to see our Presidency being prostituted by Trump. He is profiting from the Presidency and building his businesses around the world. This is a misuse and abuse of our tax dollars and it is cheapening our country. He is for sale to the highest bidder and so is our White House. Also my tax dollars are paying for his constant golf trips to his resort in Florida and for his wife in New York and for his daughter in the West Wing and his son in law. And he still refuses to show us his taxes. How much more of this are we supposed to take?

  • RI Governor Raimondo, Please Endorse and Enforce Our Forgotten Lyme Laws.
Dear Governor Raimondo, In 2002 and 2004 Rhode Island passed two new laws guaranteeing doctors the freedom to treat Lyme disease as they clinically see fit as long as it is well documented. RI GL § 5-37.5-4. In addition, insurance payments for these treatments shall not be denied “because such treatment may be characterized as unproven, experimental, or investigational in nature.” RI GL 27-18/29/20 “Mandatory coverage for certain Lyme disease treatments.” However, these lawfully enacted rights and freedoms have been purposefully obscured, denied, and totally disregarded since their enactment. This failure to regard the law has caused truly unmeasurable amounts of physical, financial, emotional and spiritual pain and suffering for many citizens in the state of Rhode Island. Total individual financial burdens in our state reach well into the millions of dollars, expenses paid out of pocket for treatments and medicines denied and “forbidden”. Doctors continue to live in fear, with many refusing any Lyme patient, and others working “under the radar”. We ask that you insure enforcement of our Lyme laws, and thereby fully establish our rights and freedoms for competent, compassionate and fear free care for the tick borne diseases in Rhode Island. Thank You/Signed Your Name --------------------- National and international signatures welcome! And please do comment, particularly if you, your family members, animals and pets, friends or acquaintances live, work and/or “play” in Rhode Island and have been challenged by the inability of our medical delivery system to deliver, accurate, humane and compassionate care for our tick borne diseases. And please, do share, good numbers do count, and every one of your signatures are important. To Good Health, And Thank You... LymeTimeInRI @ gmail, FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn

  • New York Times: Bret Stephens Must Go
Bret Stephens is a bigot and climate-science denier. He has a Constitutional right to share his attacks on Muslims, women, climate scientists. However, he doesn't deserve the payment and prestige of the New York Times. Stephens' first column, "Climate of Complete Certainty," was riddled with misleading statements and factual missteps. Stephens' work is in service of a campaign of deceit devised by ExxonMobil and other members of the fossil-fuel industry—which has been well reported by the Times. For years, the Times ran misleading and false ads by ExxonMobil attacking climate science on its opinion pages. Thankfully, that past error has since been corrected. Since the election of Donald Trump, the Times has been running an ad campaign claiming the paper's leadership believes "The Truth Is More Important Than Ever." It is time for the Times to remain consistent with its professed respect for the truth, reverse its hiring error and let Bret Stephens go.

  • Governor Abbott: Veto SB 4—Don't turn Texas police into Trump's deportation force
Texas Governor Greg Abbott plans to sign SB 4—the most dangerous anti-immigration bill in the country—into law in the coming days. It could become law, unless we speak out and fight this bill every step of the way. SB 4 obligates local law enforcement to detain people (even unlawfully) for the federal government, and it prohibits localities from imposing restrictions on collaboration with ICE. The bill even criminalizes local elected officials, like me, who stand up for our communities. But most of all, this legislation would terrorize communities of color and turn our local police into Trump's deportation force. That's why I joined a group of clergy, elected officials, and communities in a staged sit-in at Gov. Abbott's office to oppose this legislation. I know how painful immigration raids are to our communities. During one of the ruthless immigration raids that hit Austin earlier this year, I sat in a constituent's living room. Earlier that day, immigration officers had knocked on this family's door. The children were confused, terrorized, and thought they were going to lose their parent. That is a trauma that will stay with them. Now Republican politicians have decided they want our children to experience this terror and trauma every time they see a police officer. But today's action at the governor's office—and your signature on this petition—is proof that many of us across Texas and the country are declaring that we refuse to betray our community. We will fight this legislation in the courts, in our halls of government, and by organizing in our communities. It will take all of us standing up and speaking to stop this legislation and protect our communities. I hope you’ll work with us to stop Senate Bill 4, because we need you.
