• Pardon the Dreamers
This petition affects the 742,000 illegal immigrants brought to this country as CHILDREN who willingly gave all of their personal info to the Obama administration in good faith with the expectations and understanding that they would be able to become US citizens. Now that same info may be used against them under President Trump's new policy of mass deportation. Please do not allow this to happen!

  • Trump Towers: A Second White House??
President elect Trump wants to do what no other president in my 60 year memory has done – split his time between sleeping in the White House, the People’s House, and in his "beloved" penthouse in Trump Towers. This would truly make him an elitist president rather than a president for ALL the people.

  • WA DNR: Honor the Lummi Nation's Treaty Rights
Cherry Point, or Xwe’chi’eXen, is considered sacred to the Lummi Nation and protected by the Treaty of Point Elliott of 1855. In May, the Army Corps of Engineers recognized this treaty and denied permits for a coal shipping terminal at Cherry Point. Now, we are requesting that the state Department of Natural Resources follow the Corps' lead and protect Cherry Point for all future Lummi Nation people by adding the sacred 45 acres of land to the Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve. The deadline for commentary is November 18.

  • Making Senators Responsible to Those They Represent
As we attempt to accept the outcome of the outcome of the recent election, we must continue to be part of this democracy. The President-Elect has told us "not to be scared" but, at the same time he has put a racist, anti-Semitic into a high, advisory position. Now he is coming up with a short list for cabinet positions that include hawks, climate-deniers, racists, hate-mongering candidates. Basically, while trying to sound more "presidential", his nominations seem to be very much in line with the divisive rhetoric that he spoke throughout the campaign. We need to make the Senators, who can confirm or deny these cabinet assignments, understand that we are watching. They need to represent us to earn our votes for the next round. We will not forget how they vote in this transition period.

  • Tell Mark Zuckerberg to ban hate organizations like Brietbart News on Facebook
Facebook allowed fake news sites and racists news sites to influence the US Election. Chief among them was Brietbart news, who ran a trending fake news story alleging that Hillary Clinton was about to be indicted by the FBI. Brietbart News also spreads anti-semitic, alt-right, and white supremacist 'news' stories throughout Facebook. Facebook should support an inclusive, open community, not serve as a channel for hate and divisiveness. We are all affected by Mark Zuckerberg's decision to allow hateful and fake news to take over Facebook. Keep Facebook safe for all people, regardless of creed, color, religion, or sex orientation and sign the petition today!

  • Tell U.S. Mayors: Protect Undocumented Immigrants - Declare Your City a Sanctuary of Safety! #He...
Mayors across the country must stand with their undocumented immigrant residents in this moment of crisis. Undocumented Immigrants like me are under attack—from Trump's assault on DACA, ICE's ruthless deportation machinery, and now Jeff Sessions' lawsuit against California's sanctuary laws. In a sanctuary city, officials implement policies to restrict local police from turning immigrants over to federal immigration agents and declare in no uncertain terms that immigrants are welcome. Without them, undocumented immigrants like me and my family are left vulnerable to racial profiling, detention and deportation. We salute the mayors of cities like Seattle, San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland who have been strong in standing with their undocumented residents. Oakland's Mayor Libby Schaaf even took the courageous step of warning her residents of ICE round-ups, which may have saved hundreds of immigrants from being torn from their families. But we know that Trump, Sessions, and ICE are turning up their aggressive tactics—ICE agents have sought to enter houses of worship, targeted immigrant rights leaders, and detained immigrants whose status should have been protected, in addition to ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and El Salvadorans. In the face of Trump's aggression, city and state leaders can—and must—be strong. This is just the beginning —we can make our cities and states safe for all!

  • I Pledge to Fight Back
President-elect Trump and the new Congress will try to wipe out health coverage and countless other protections and services. Much of the damage they would inflict can be stopped, but only if we commit to act, to ensure that enough Senators block dangerous legislation. For those who care about a just society and an economy that works for all, this is the fight of our lives.

  • Senator Kamala Harris: Come Out Against Dakota Access Pipeline
I am a California citizen who voted for Kamala Harris in the 2016 elections. One of the main reasons I supported her was her fierce stance on protecting the environment. On her website it states "For too long, Congress has refused to pass any legislation to fight climate change and global warming." However we have not heard her stance on the Dakota Access Pipeline, which is now gathering national and worldwide attention. As a supporter, I would like to know her stance on this issue.

  • TRUMP'S NEWLY PROPOSED TAX PLAN- WILL DEVASTATE SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES
The proposed tax changes by President - Elect Trump removes the head of household designation for single parent families. Single parent households will have to file as single, and this will cost these middle-class families significant tax increases. The election promise was to lower taxes on the middle-class not increase it on the backs of single parents struggling everyday to make a life for their families. In effect single parent families are being penalized.

  • Keep the Mattahunt Elementary School Open
    1. The Superintendent’s plan will displace children. 2. The Superintendent’s plan continues a pattern of school closings that disproportionally happen in communities of color. 3. The Mattahunt has had 4 principals in the last 6 years and, at one point, 90% of its teachers were new, with about 40.5% being new, currently. 50 – 60% of the school population is Haitian, yet there are not enough resources to meet the language and cultural needs of English Language Learners. Additionally, 76% of the students are categorized as high needs. The community demands that more commitment and investment rooted in community involvement and input be given to the Mattahunt Elementary School community.
