I am starting this petition to ensure the citizens of the United States of America have a way to access information they can rely on to be objectively accurate and impartial, without taking on the arduous task of sifting through dozens of "fake news" sites to try and piece together what may or may not be true, and which may inadvertently play into ones confirmation bias. It is an unfair burden, and puts up roadblocks to democracy. Propaganda is not news. We need to be able to easily differentiate between the two.

He does not represent the views and values of the community he has been charged with serving, nor does he represent the values of an effective elected official. His attitude and opinions are universally unacceptable in today's world.

Americans deserve, and largely have, elections systems that are safe & accurate. There’s always room for improvement -- and we’re working to ensure that all states implement reforms ensuring the fairness and accessibility of the franchise -- but it doesn’t help to spread lies that undermine confidence in our democracy and pave the way for voter suppression. That’s why it’s so alarming that, according to the New York Times, President Trump “asserted that between three million and five million unauthorized immigrants voted for Mrs. Clinton” at a meeting with Congressional leaders. The Times continues, “Voting officials across the country have said there is virtually no evidence of people voting illegally, and certainly not millions of them.” It’s more than just “alternative facts” -- there are no facts at all that support what President Trump is saying. As President, Trump should be working to improve our elections systems -- not telling lies that undermine confidence in them. And this lie should worry you more than most: because lawmakers have invoked the myths Trump is pushing to justify a wave of voter suppression laws in states across the nation. Between this and his nomination of lifelong voting rights foe Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, we must stand vigilant against any attempts by the Trump Administration to limit our right to vote. We expect and demand better from our leaders at the top. That’s why it’s so important to call out Donald Trump’s election lies for what they are. Please add your name and tell President Trump to stop lying about our elections, and give up his witch hunt after voters.

This is a non-partisan issue of political ethics. Who could possibly be against this legislation? Every American wants their President working entirely for the benefit of the American People - without any potential conflict of interest. We do not know if this is currently the case. Let's close this loophole for this and all future presidents.

Donald Trump is trying to ram through approval of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The $3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline will contaminate the Standing Rock Sioux's water and will constitute yet another attack on their sovereignty and way of life. This is just the first of many actions Trump and the GOP plan to take to use infrastructure projects to destroy the lives of people of color. Today he’ll ram this pipeline through the Sioux community, tomorrow he will push through a lung-choking oil refinery in a Black neighborhood. But this fight is far from over. The bureaucrats of the Army Corp of Engineers - the agency overseeing the pipeline construction - still have a lot of power to delay and block this project. We need to call on staff within Army Corp of Engineers to oppose Trump by throwing sand in the gears of this destructive project. With their help we can stall this out.

President Donald Trump has refused to release his tax returns ever since he entered the presidential race, breaking decades of bipartisan precedent. Now, Trump's top advisors say he'll never release them, claiming that “we litigated this all through the election." So instead, public interest watchdogs are doing some litigating of their own. They're suing President Trump for violating the Constitution's ban on elected officials taking money from foreign governments, and demanding to see his tax returns as part of the discovery process. We deserve a clear picture of President Trump’s background, experience, and business interests -- and we have a right to know about any potential conflicts of interest. Without a full accounting of Trump's assets, there's no way to know the extent of his personal foreign entanglements, or if he is using the presidency to enrich his own wealth. Trump says he can’t release his returns because the IRS is currently auditing them -- but he didn’t have a problem doing that when his private business interests were at stake. And the commissioner of the IRS gave him the go-ahead too, saying “if you’re being audited, and you want to... share that information with your returns, you can do that.” We can't let Trump's "alternative facts" deny us our right to transparency. He wants to conduct the people's business from the White House, so we deserve to know how he's conducted his private business too. Donald Trump must release his tax returns to the American people.

Donald Trump when running for president said he would release his tax returns. Now he says "Only the press/media wanted to see them, not the American people". He is wrong. We have a right to review his financials, to see if he is correct that he was "legal" in paying no taxes. He lied when he said he would release them after his inauguration.

Our president is not above the law. He must conform to the constitutional requirements out resign

The world will not last under the America First Energy Plan. Rather than double down on fossil fuels, as the new adminstration is attempting to do, we need to move rapidly and radically to renewable energy and strategies to drawdown greenhouse gas concentrations. The US has a huge responsibility and should have the ability to lead toward a climate resilient future, but we need to transform schools and communities into living laboratories of sustainable practices.

President Donald Trump should be evaluated by Psychiatrists to determine if he is fit to serve as President of the United States. Several highly esteemed Psychiatrists and Psychologists (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-greene/is-donald-trump-mentally_b_13693174.html) have assessed his behavior and consider him mentally unstable and a serious danger to our Country and the World. Using the Diagnostics and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM they determined he suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder or NPD. We are witnessing aberrant behavior of our new President which call into question his mental stability and ability to exercise impulse control. For the sake of our Nation and the World we are calling on the Surgeon General to ask President Trump to submit to a psychiatric evaluation by the best qualified and trained specialists. We are asking members of Congress, the Court and Chiefs of Staff to support this request and insist that he submit in order to gain confidence and faith in his mental soundness. Our very lives depend upon leadership which demonstrates a rational and objective mind and we need to know whether President Trump possesses those qualities.
