The media has disregarded all allegations brought to the forefront by individuals regarding Trump's unethical business practices. It's now time to investigate this individual who has been impersonating as a business man with sound business practices when in fact he is anything but that.

On September 14th Cook County commissioners unanimously passed an ordinance to establish a direct access program for cook county. The program will expand health care access to 40,000 Cook County residents. This is a huge health care victory!

Monsanto and Bayer have announced plans to merge, creating what would be the world's largest seed and pesticide maker. Monsanto produces RoundUp, in addition to genetically-engineered seeds designed to withstand the herbicide. Bayer manufactures neonicotinoid pesticides, which have been implicated in bee die-offs. So what do we get in return for their profits? Fewer options and higher costs. The Monsanto-Bayer merger would create a near-monopoly over our food and agriculture. Tell American and European antitrust agencies to deny the merger.

The recent cuts to higher education have been devastating — valued faculty are leaving, and Illinois students are going to schools in other states. Meanwhile, young people and their families are being crushed by the high cost of college, even at our public institutions. A bold investment in free tuition would lift the burden of debt off the next generation and provide stable funding and a wave of enthusiasm for our public universities and community colleges.

Throughout the Democratic primaries, Senator Bernie Sanders was enormously popular, and all polls showed that he was in a better position to beat Donald Trump than was any other candidate. The signers of this petition absolutely do not want to risk a Trump presidency, and therefore we feel it is crucial that Sen. Sanders be the replacement candidate, should Hillary Clinton need to step down as the Democratic candidate, due to health or any other reason.

When I partnered with MoveOn, Bernie Sanders, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and other progressive allies on a new Senate resolution calling for a public health insurance option, national headlines in Forbes, The Huffington Post, and elsewhere made it clear: the public option is back on the table. And when the resolution ballooned to 33 Senate cosponsors in less than 48 hours, the insurance lobby told their allies to attack us—and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell took to the Senate floor right away to do it. UPDATE: WE DID IT! On September 27, Wells Fargo announced that its CEO would forfeit about $41 million in pay, and the executive who directly oversaw the abuse would give up $19 million in compensation. While we're glad some of the money is coming back, it's still only about one-third of the fines Wells Fargo's been charged for their abuse. That means shareholders and pensioners will still have to bear much of the cost of the $185 million in fines Wells Fargo incurred due to their abuses. It shouldn't take a PR disaster like this for companies to claw back bonuses. As a next step, will you join us in urging the regulators to strengthen their executive compensation rule, so that the regulators have the power to demand claw backs -- instead of leaving up to the company that committed the abuse? http://bit.ly/nobonusforfraud ORIGINAL PETITION: In early September, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) found that Wells Fargo employees, facing pressure to meet unrealistic sales quotas, opened more than two million deposit and credit card accounts for customers who never asked for them. The CFPB and other agencies fined Wells Fargo a total of $180 million for these illegal acts. But the executive in charge of this division at the bank isn’t being fired -- they’re “retiring,” and walking away with nearly $125 million in stock, options, and other compensation! We call on Wells Fargo to claw back the compensation of the executive responsible for millions of phony accounts. We also call on Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf, who is ultimately responsible for the entire bank, to give back the bonuses he earned from May 2011 - July 2015, when this misconduct occurred. We all know Hillary's health is questionable. Is she fit to campaign? The possibility exists that Clinton could drop out, being unable to continue. If this were to occur, join us in telling the DNC the only right choice would be to make Bernie Sanders the nominee.

Our outrage goes beyond how Hillary is being treated by the media. It’s also about how the women of America are treated — and like it or not, the way the media reports on women leaders has an impact on how we treat each other, including wage and hiring discrimination. This is a big deal. The truth of the matter is that women (and men) across the United States get sick and power through their responsibilities all the time without anyone calling into question their fitness to do their jobs — they have to, since the United States is the only industrialized country in the world where not everyone has access to paid sick days and paid family and medical leave. While both men and women get sick, the data shows that women are disproportionately put in the penalty box for getting ill. To be blunt, women and mothers are often “damned if we do and damned if we don’t” when it comes to how we’re perceived in the workplace. If we need time off, we’re considered weak. If we show up as Clinton did even though she’s sick, then we’re also considered weak. It’s a no-win situation. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has yet to even release his health records! He sleeps four hours a night, never exercises and maintains a high-cholesterol, high-calorie diet. But where’s the outcry questioning his fitness to serve based on his health? This election is too important to let the news media continue to take every opportunity to paint Hillary Clinton, our first major woman presidential candidate, as weak. It’s time to call out the news media on its biased, sexist reporting.

This is a very critical moment for us all, as well as a grand opportunity. Many of those who have nominated Clinton now must realize their fatal error and anxiously seek a way to overcome it. The only viable option is to replace Hillary with Bernie, and do it asap. The struggle continues, and victory is certain, if we act quickly and massively.
