I care about this country and I do not want to see the office of President degraded and used for personal gain. The President must be held to the highest ethical standard in order to preserve the integrity of our system of government. Please sign this petition!

Mayors across the country must stand with their undocumented immigrant residents in this moment of crisis. Undocumented Immigrants like me are under attack—from Trump's assault on DACA, ICE's ruthless deportation machinery, and now Jeff Sessions' lawsuit against California's sanctuary laws. In a sanctuary city, officials implement policies to restrict local police from turning immigrants over to federal immigration agents and declare in no uncertain terms that immigrants are welcome. Without them, undocumented immigrants like me and my family are left vulnerable to racial profiling, detention and deportation. We salute the mayors of cities like Seattle, San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland who have been strong in standing with their undocumented residents. Oakland's Mayor Libby Schaaf even took the courageous step of warning her residents of ICE round-ups, which may have saved hundreds of immigrants from being torn from their families. But we know that Trump, Sessions, and ICE are turning up their aggressive tactics—ICE agents have sought to enter houses of worship, targeted immigrant rights leaders, and detained immigrants whose status should have been protected, in addition to ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and El Salvadorans. In the face of Trump's aggression, city and state leaders can—and must—be strong. This is just the beginning —we can make our cities and states safe for all!

President-elect Trump and the new Congress will try to wipe out health coverage and countless other protections and services. Much of the damage they would inflict can be stopped, but only if we commit to act, to ensure that enough Senators block dangerous legislation. For those who care about a just society and an economy that works for all, this is the fight of our lives.

I am a California citizen who voted for Kamala Harris in the 2016 elections. One of the main reasons I supported her was her fierce stance on protecting the environment. On her website it states "For too long, Congress has refused to pass any legislation to fight climate change and global warming." However we have not heard her stance on the Dakota Access Pipeline, which is now gathering national and worldwide attention. As a supporter, I would like to know her stance on this issue.

The proposed tax changes by President - Elect Trump removes the head of household designation for single parent families. Single parent households will have to file as single, and this will cost these middle-class families significant tax increases. The election promise was to lower taxes on the middle-class not increase it on the backs of single parents struggling everyday to make a life for their families. In effect single parent families are being penalized.

1. The Superintendent’s plan will displace children. 2. The Superintendent’s plan continues a pattern of school closings that disproportionally happen in communities of color. 3. The Mattahunt has had 4 principals in the last 6 years and, at one point, 90% of its teachers were new, with about 40.5% being new, currently. 50 – 60% of the school population is Haitian, yet there are not enough resources to meet the language and cultural needs of English Language Learners. Additionally, 76% of the students are categorized as high needs. The community demands that more commitment and investment rooted in community involvement and input be given to the Mattahunt Elementary School community.

Social Security and Medicare did not break the budget; careless handling by the government is what depleted the Social Security Trust Fund. Now the government is attempting to further impoverish beneficiaries to correct the deficit instead. They should just plain put the money back into the trust fund that the government borrowed. We are aware that President George Bush did borrow against the Social Security Trust Fund surplus to pay for the tax cut to the rich and fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the bonds are due to be paid back in year 2020. None of these acts were productive and cost taxpayers billions of dollars. We demand that United States replenish the Social Security Trust Fund with monies that Congressional officials have squandered. We are keeping records of any Congress person who votes to support Paul Ryan’s plan to tamper with Social Security and Medicare. We will make sure to support that Congressman's opponent when he/she comes up for reelection. If Congress vote against Social Security/Medicare, we will vote against you.

Rocky Mountain Power is trying to dramatically increase the cost of electricity for Utahns who want to power their homes with solar energy. It has proposed new charges on consumers who choose to install solar that: - Would be bad for business and will kill thousands of solar jobs in Utah. - Unfairly punishes consumers who are trying to save money by using less power - Would allow Rocky Mountain Power to take advantage of its monopoly by eliminating consumer choice, energy independence and a consumer’s ability to do what they wish on their roof tops. The proposal by Rocky Mountain Power is the most aggressive, anti-consumer, anti-competitive and anti-solar proposal ever made by a utility in the United States.

The president elect is rapidly putting together a team of people whose views and positions stand in stark contrast to the majority of the country. We need Mr. Trump to understand that he was not elected with a mandate to ignore the views of the people. His mandate was to break the gridlock that has prevented the government from effectively solving our problems.

Donald Trump is appointing as his chief strategist an unrepentant white nationalist: Steve Bannon. Steve Bannon proudly turned the Breitbart News site into a bastion of “alt-right” racism, sexism, hatred, and bigotry. It has a news section called “Black Crime.” After the massacre of African American churchgoers in Charleston, it promoted flying the Confederate flag as a symbol of “glorious heritage.” The outburst of hate speech and attacks on women, immigrants, African Americans, Muslims, and so many others, is a direct consequence of a Trump campaign that embraced Steve Bannon's extreme and hateful worldview. We call on Donald Trump to rescind the appointment of Steve Bannon, repudiate his horrific, racist, sexist, bigoted views, and call for an end to violence, hate speech, and intimidation.

If the Democratic Party wants to reclaim the Oval Office, Senate, and House of Representatives again, it needs to APPEAL TO PROGRESSIVES. Naming Sen. Booker DNC Chair is a start
