• Stop legislation in Arizona that would ban fetal tissue research
There is a lot of very important research conducted on fetal tissue that people donate for any number of reasons and in many different circumstances. I think it's dangerous for medical science for people to be cutting off such a big avenue for research and discovery.

  • Air Canada Pilots Association - Nationally Elected MEC Chair
In April 2014 Governance Expert Greg Gubitz tabled his recommendations on a way forward for ACPA when it came to Governance Reform. In November of 2014 at Policy Convention after considerable time and member resources the MEC abandoned the Gubitz Recommendations, basically in their entirety. Including the salient recommendation of the Membership electing the MEC Chair - Nationally. On February 23, 2016 the current MEC is holding a Special Meeting to elect their chosen MEC Chair among themselves. Has the MEC no regard for the costs associated with conducting a two day meeting in a Downtown Toronto Hotel to choose between two MEC incumbents, one being favoured before they even meet? Could this event be conducted over a MEC Conference Call or an Internal Webinar? Hold your MEC Member's Transparent & Accountable and consider forwarding this ePetition to the VCC Chair. Time is of the essence! We would like to collect a 1000 ePetitions in the next ten days. Not an easy task. We need your help! This original ePetition is only going out to 100 Active Members. If you are in favour of promoting the merits of this ePetition, please forward it on to fellow Member's in your email contact list. Without your help and involvement, this ePetition will fail. 30% or approximately 960 ePetitions are required for the MEC to entertain the request and more importantly to consider Conducting a Vote of the National Membership. On the reply section of the ePetition it asks for your Name and Address, this is a generic petition form. This is what is required to validate your e Petition with ACPA: 1. Rank & Name. In the comments section please include: 2. Base. 3. Membership Number which is your 6 digit employee number. 4. Date of Submission. Thank you!

  • Support the will of the voters
We would like to see Representative John Lewis, as a long-standing progressive champion of democracy in Congress, use his unpledged delegate or "superdelegate" vote to reflect the rights he fought for and sacrificed to gain, has defended and protected—along with continuing to represent the values of the Democratic party—by not supporting a candidate before all of his constituents have had their say at the voting booth. We urge him to lead other Georgia superdelegates in committing to honor the vote of the people.

  • First Nations Day
The forefathers of the USA have President's Day and some of them even have their own personal holidays too, besides having a President's Day. It is now time and long overdue for OUR Forefathers of Turtle Island to also be HONORED. We want a recognized day of remembrance of our Chiefs for their leadership, bravery and all that they gave for their people's future.

  • Tell candidates running for California Senate Seat to take the pledge to #FixDemocracy
Our current state of democracy is under siege as a result of big money in politics, belittling our voices to an immense degree. As a resident of California and concerned citizen of the United States for that matter, I see an opportunity to voice our opinion in opposition to these corporate powers. Let us begin by telling the fossil fuel industry that, we as a people, want our voices to be heard. Here is the pledge: "I pledge allegiance to a democracy of, by, and for the people. If elected, I pledge to fight for a people-powered democracy where every voice is heard by defending the right to vote for all, and support common-sense measures like public funding for campaigns and overturning Citizens United to ensure a government by and for the people, not the biggest donors. And I will prove that I work for the people by refusing money from fossil fuel interests and by championing these solutions for a people-powered democracy on the campaign trail."

  • Support Kentucky's Future by Restoring Kentucky College Funding
Please join us in urging the legislature to resist making further cuts to the Kentucky Colleges budgets. Community and technical colleges are more important than ever in economically-challenging times, and we should be making a stronger commitment to them--not cutting back!

  • Oregon Senate Candidates: take the #fixdemocracy pledge!
As a native Oregonian, I am affected by the State of our democracy. Massive corporations have hijacked our electorate and have built an insidious machine of influence and corruption. Oregon Senate candidates have the ability to voice support for campaign finance reforms, to reject corporate influence, and to take back control of our democracy.

  • Not Another Methadone Clinic
We do not want this facility in our neighborhood or any other additional facilities of this kind. We want you to know that we will stand in opposition, with the area businesses, faith-based and community organizations. Our neighborhood is already ridden with crime, and plagued with despair and hopelessness. A facility of this type will only add to the negativity we are trying to combat and will put the safety of our children, families, neighbors, businesses, and worshipers at risk. • End the AIM pipeline in NY
I live in the Hudson Valley area of New York, which is currently being threatened by the AIM pipeline. Due to the construction of this pipeline, trees have been cut down, and dangerous levels of methane are being released into the environment. This is my home, and I will do everything in my power to end this environmental damage. Areas such as Beijing China suffer every day from toxic air quality conditions; but it's not too late for the Hudson Valley, and the NY region. I will not stand by passively, and watch a company damage the quality of life in the place I stand by to protect. This can be easily prevented, by stopping the construction of Spectra Energy's AIM pipeline.

  • Tell the candidates for the Florida Senate Seat Race to take the #FixDemocracy pledge!
As a resident of Florida, I am personally affected by the state of our democracy. The issue of money in politics and the corporate strangle on our democracy is an incredible crisis, but also an incredible opportunity. When impacted communities unite for change, real progress is possible.

  • Fix Democracy in Maryland
I believe our government should be independent of corporate interest. In order to have our Representatives truly represent the Maryland people, they cannot be taking money from fossil fuel companies.
