• "Living A Quality Life with Dignity and Respect"
Our petition addresses a giant gap in the need for hands on advocates in dealing with corporations, wealth persons and those in power over small business concerns, groups, and or people. Grass rooted folks, watch dogs advocates have more flex abilities to make changes quickly. We the people have the court of Public opinion and out cry. As a senior women of color I have had my share of fights until a group in 2012 helped me win my case against the Wells Fargo Bank who stole my home. Yes! The group was Move-On and I WON thanks to your support. Now I want to put back to help others. This is personal and needs to be told so others can learn they can stand up and win. I truly thank the people of Move On and will state more in my up coming book.

  • Encourage universities to excuse students from classes on caucus day!
This a petition for colleges in caucus states to excuse students who want to vote on caucus day, and to encourage students to exercise their right to vote and promote a healthy democracy. We find it disturbing that many students have reported a fear of missing class as a reason not to vote, and that schools are failing in their responsibility to facilitate young voters' participation in the democratic process. For example, there are approximately 105,000 students enrolled in the three largest Iowa campuses, and the websites for these schools encourage students to "think about what missing classes will mean" instead of bolstering the democratic process by enabling them to attend often day-long caucus events. Please sign this petition and consider speaking to your professor and not attending class to caucus and vote, no matter who your preferred candidate might be.

  • Employment - Ban Workplace Abuse
I have been severely harassed and retaliated against after working many years at a huge corporation. Thousands of employees suffer from PTSD due to the psychological assaults. 29 states and 2 U.S. territories have introduced a version of The Healthy Workplace Bill (HWB), which is aimed at precisely defining an “abusive work environment”. This should be a FEDERAL LAW - but, should be in every STATE at the least! - 72 percent of the adult America public is familiar with instances of workplace bullying - 65.6 million people are affected by bulling, including targets and witnesses - 69 percent of workplace bullies are men, while 60 percent of bullying targets are women - Targets lose their jobs at a significantly higher rate than perpetrators (82 percent vs. 18 percent) - 61 percent of all targets of bullying end up losing their job

  • Gov. Rauner and the Illinois General Assembly: It's Time for Gun Dealer Licensing!
I'm concerned about the increasing number of deaths and injuries due to gun violence in Illinois each year. In 2014 alone, there were 1,179 gun deaths in the state. It is far too easy for criminals to obtain guns. According to a report of the University of Chicago Crime Lab, 20% of all guns recovered from crime scenes between 2009 and 2013 came from four dealers in Illinois. Requiring gun dealers to be licensed would hold these bad apple dealers accountable, and reduce the number of illegal guns coming into our communities.

  • Ban Big Pharma Ads from Television
The United States is just one of a few countries that allows drug companies to advertise directly to patients. The public is barraged on a daily basis with costly advertisements that offer misleading information, promote a pill as the panacea for everything, and drive up the cost of prescription meds. If we want to get health care costs, and addiction issues, under control and make genuine health and wellness a priority in the U.S., now is the time to act by demanding that Congress enact legislation to ban all Big Pharma advertising on television, radio and in print.

  • Families Against DCF
Many low income families are targeted by the Department of children and Familie's case workers, being bullied with threats of removing children from their homes I agree there's certain circumstances where children are in a dangerous situation However some removals can be avoided. Recently a nurse at a local hospital became engaged in a confrontation with a patient's Family member, being vindictive the patient said the nurse contacted the department of children and Families and filed a complaint, the family has since continued to be harassed by the DCF's Case Workers.

  • Help our kids feel safe again please!
There is constant occurrences of Kim Cooper threatening our children. On January 29, 2016 my son was at Kim's neighbor's house to play with his friends just as he has since before Kim moved in. Kim tried to swing a belt at him and proceeded to approach him tell him to "get his bad a** out of the yard" or she was going to "whoop his a** and don't come the f**k back over to play", although he was not in her portion of her front yard. I approached her residence to calmly talk to her to figure out the issue and try to compromise or meet a solution. However, she started to raise her voice, insult me, threatened to have her daughters jump me and her grand daughters jump my daughter and she promised if my son came to play with his friend she would find an opportunity to take to physically hit him with her belt. My son is scared. That day he came in crying and shaking because he thought she was going to catch him and beat him with the belt. I asked my housing office for help and no solution, police told me to go to the magistrate and his answer was maybe I should just not let him play with his friend anymore. It is unfair that my child has to be scared when he is outside because she seems to have a low tolerance for children, even her grand daughters. She yells at them constantly and doesn't want them in the house until it is dark. These grand daughters, who I estimate to be about 7 and 11, have jumped on a 3 year old residence. They follow my daughter everyday telling her they are going to beat her up and the 11 year old has ran my 6 year old daughter over with her bike about two weeks ago. The grandma also attacked a 17 year old hitting him with blunt object to his head causing him to bleed out and go to the E.R. My kids are scared all our kids in Harold Goodman circle are terrified and bullied by Kim Cooper, her daughters and her grand daughters. We are asking for help, the answer for us should not be to confine our children inside our home because we have a resident who lacks basic respect of human beings in general. The police have been called out on numerous occasions because of this residence. We just want the peace for our kids restored. We are signing this petition in hopes of Kim Cooper being evicted so we can have a kid friendly neighborhood again. Thank your for the time and support.

  • Pass bill HB 7274- Label genetically engineered food in Rhode Island!
Genetically engineered (GE) foods have been brought to market without any long term safety studies. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not require or conduct safety studies on GE foods, instead relying on voluntary safety consultations and minimal research done by the companies who create GE foods. Labeling GE foods is necessary to allow consumers to make informed decisions about the food they buy and consume, as well as for tracking any potential adverse effects or allergies.
