SUPPORT THE EMERGENCY DECLARATION FOR HAWAII ISLANDOn January 29, 2016 Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard urged Hawaii State Governor David Ige to declare a state of emergency to combat the current outbreak of dengue fever on Hawaii Island. This declaration, if acted up on by our governor, will release the full force of federal funding necessary to combat the growing threat of dengue and other mosquito-borne viruses. This is about the big picture, especially as zika makes the headlines internationally and is now a looming threat to the state of Hawaii. As long as the presence of the aedes mosquito populations are allowed to be prevalent, this threat will always be hanging over our heads. We have the opportunity to be a model for the world’s communities, to show how to develop and fight the spread of these highly infectious diseases now and in the future for both our Hawaii residents and visitors. A state of emergency will give residents and visitors a sense of relief that something significant is being done in the long term to ensure that our Island is a safe place to live and visit. Please sign this petition so that the voices of Hawaii Island are heard loud and clear. Hawaii Dengue Fever Awareness962 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Krista Johnson

STUDENT DEBT SHOULD BE NULL AND VOIDI am calling for a national month of no payments to Navient/Sallie Mae in the month of March 2016. I am calling for a march on Washington DC and in every major city of the United States to stop Navient/Sallie Mae from collecting another dime from students who have been paying this debt for years and cannot get out from under it until they retire or die, whichever comes first. I am calling on the Justice Department to further investigate Navient/Sallie Mae for abusive interest rates, and ruining the lives of previous students who cannot fulfill their aspirations in this Country. I am calling on the Justice Department to hold Navient/Sallie Mae liable for criminal intent to overcharge our young people who are students and previous students who will never get out of the debt. I am calling on the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau to alleviate the debt of students so that they can move on with their lives after sometimes paying 2, 3, and 4 times the amount of the original debt. I am calling on the Justice Department to investigate Navient/Sallie Mae with the Rico Act in addition to any other criminal intent. I can no longer stand seeing my daughter, after over 20 yers of payments for a small amount being charged 3 times that amount or more. Please sign this petition and let us get a class action suit going because Navient/Sallie Mae and the Federal Government will not adjudicate this issue. Please send your name, amount of original student debt and the amoutn of deb ensued and for how many years. The future of our Country depends on young people being able to help the nation's economy grow. It is not right now. Let us legally demonstrate and use the courts to bring Navient/Sallie Mae to their knees with the information you can provide.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Linda Contract Willus

MMSD has FailedAs a former student and Parent and Community Outreach Liaison for the Madison Metropolitan School District, I have been involved in this school district for over 15 years in some capacity. There exists an atmosphere in the Madison Metropolitan School District that is about maintaining the administration at the expense of student growth through education. The lack of progression combined with the overcommitment to maintaining the administration, which has not upheld educational standards, is atrocious. The graduation rate for black and brown students is at 50%, and yet the administration has been allowed to continue on contract for over 10 years. I saw students physically assaulted by a security guard and other student incidents that were disregarded. It is clear that MMSD only cares about maintaining the current administration and status quo versus upholding their agreement to be responsible for student learning and growth.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Erik House

Redraw the districts, repeal the gerrymandering in Indiana. The Republicans have redrawn, gerrymandered, our districts so they overwhelmingly support Republicans. They gerrymandered my district so much the our solid Democratic congresswoman lost. The districts shouldn't favor one party or the other.66 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kimberly Schofield Swinney

Join the movement to stop Donald Trump! We believe Trump is a grave threat to democracy, freedom, human rights, equality, and the welfare of our country. We have witnessed Trump inciting hatred against Muslims, immigrants, women, and the disabled. That's why we are speaking out against Donald Trump for his hatred, misogyny, Islamaphobia, and racism and to give platform for the voices of the silent majority of Americans who do not and will not stand for it. Together we can inspire a collective awakening of people across all spectrums of the US to speak out and create actions to end hatred and inject values of respect, inclusion, love, and equality back into our national politics. Stand with leaders of worker movements, activists, actors, film directors, religious leaders, teachers, professors, civil rights leaders, lawyers, farmers, writers, workers, students, heads of companies, intellectuals, and poets and say #StopHateDumpTrump!39,432 of 40,000 SignaturesCreated by #StopHateDumpTrump

KET: Let Grant Short (US Senate) DebateI am a US Senate candidate from Kentucky running against Rand Paul. Today, I received the minimum requirements to participate in KET's (a public service) debate. They feel $100,000 is what legitimizes one as a candidate. I disagree. I say ideas do. Join me if you feel the same, in telling them to remove this from their requirements.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Grant Short

Stop Denying Undocumented Residents Access to Clean Water!Undocumented residents of Flint, Michigan are being denied access to free clean water, water filters, and water testing kits and being kept in the dark about the toxic water crisis. Michigan Governor Rick Snyder states "making sure the people of Flint immediately have access to safe, clean water, and that includes reaching every home to supply water, filters, replacement filter cartridges and water testing kits.” But if that was the case, why are undocumented immigrants being denied access to these very things?(1) The state’s disregard for the latino community continues as they failed to distribute information about the water crisis in spanish. Flint’s latino community is mostly Mexican and there are about 1,000 undocumented residents in the area. And many, as a result of not being properly informed, are just now learning about the contaminated water as a result of community and grassroots efforts. On top of the negligent actions of city and state officials, Flint has seen a series of predatory Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids targeting undocumented residents -- creating an environment of fear and intimidation for many Latino families. And thus making it increasingly more difficult for undocumented residents to get access to the information about the water crisis (2). Access to clean drinking water is a human right! It is a human rights violation to deny individuals to access clean, uncontaminated, and safe drinking water. Individuals, regardless of legal status or whether or not they have IDs, should not be refused access to a resource that all humans need to survive.
