• 20 Million Voices
I am one of approximately 20 million people who live within a 50 mile radius of the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant. Having a 42 inch natural gas pipeline run within 105 feet of Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant is a recipe for disaster. The possibility of a gas pipeline rupture within 105 feet of the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant is not a risk that our elected officials should ask us to take.

  • Appeal for UN election observers to oversee the United States elections of 2016
At every election tensions increase and accusations of fraud abound. The possibility that at some point in the near future this mistrust will erupt into violence appears more likely than ever during this cycle. To alleviate this, and to ensure that our nation's government remains one that is of the people, by the people, and especially for the people, we need reassurance that every citizen has the opportunity to vote and that every vote is counted.

  • Health Care Systems Cost and Benefit analysis
I am supporting Senator Marty's bill in the Senate and Carolyn Laine in the House. We need a cost analysis that is done by objective and unbiased parties to convince the legislature that a Single-Payer type system is far less costly than the system we are using now. Please sign by May 31.

  • Abolish The Emergency Management Law in Michigan
Emergency Management is an unjust law in Michigan. In 2012 Michigan voters rejected Public Act 4 (Michigan Proposal 1) by a percentage of 53% No votes and 47% Yes votes. A few months later the Michigan Republican House and Senate passed a new law, Public Act 436 in its place. My city , Pontiac, MI has been stripped of its assets: Fire, Water, Police, Department of Public Works and Lighting. Currently the city retirees pensions are being targeted. This law should be abolished. This is the same law that brought the water crisis to Flint, Michigan.

  • Reform the Tattoo Laws of South Carolina
Customers often request to get tattoos on either their neck or face. They are turned away due to the current law, which restricts tattooing these body parts. Professional tattoo artists will normally turn people away for other reasons (like aesthetics or provocative imagery) that will have repercussions on the customer later in life. These decisions should be left to the individuals, not as a matter of legal prohibition. The sale of merchandise, any merchandise whatsoever, is also prohibited under the law. Many tattoo artists are also fine artists who produce works of art. The prohibition of sales of merchandise prevents an artist of great opportunities to sell their art. Additionally, the sale of miscellaneous merchandise will help strengthen the local economy and generate additional tax revenue for the state. The prohibition of these small details have a big, and negative, impact on the tattoo community and the culture of the public with whom we create art.

  • Respect UN, Drop US Espionage Case Against Julian Assange
The UN working group on arbitrary detention has found that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arbitrarily detained in London for more than five years and should be released immediately. [1] Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU, said: “In light of this decision, it’s clear that any criminal charges against Mr. Assange in connection with WikiLeaks’ publishing operations would be unprecedented and unconstitutional. Indeed, even the prolonged criminal investigation of WikiLeaks itself has had a profound chilling effect. The Justice Department should end that investigation and make clear that no publisher will ever be prosecuted for the act of journalism.” [2] Urge the U.S. government to end all criminal investigations and threats of prosecution against Julian Assange and WikiLeaks by signing our petition. • Stop the Tampa Bay Express Lanes
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning to spend $3.3 billion taxpayer dollars to add express toll lanes to I-275, I-75 and I-4 in an effort to reduce congestion. But FDOT has acknowledged that the express lanes alone won’t solve congestion and will significantly increase traffic. The surrounding community is also fiercely opposed to the project as it would result in demolishing historic homes, businesses, community centers and parks. At a time when we are strapped for transportation cash, our existing roads and bridges are crumbling and transportation trends are changing, we must reorient transportation funding away from wasteful highway expansions and toward the repair of existing roads and bridges. At the same time, we must make critical investments in other transportation options, such as transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects, to meet Florida's current and future transportation needs. Tell Governor Scott to halt this wasteful highway boondoggle. Add your name.

  • Got Nothin To Hide Hillary? #ReleaseTheTranscripts
The American people have already bailed out Wall Street once, the last thing we need is a President who is unwilling or unable to stand up to the powerful financial industry. THEREFORE, in the interests of transparency and accountability, we call on Hillary Clinton to immediately release the full transcripts of her paid speeches to Wall Street banks from 2013 to 2015. Until she does so, the American people simply cannot trust her word alone that she will get tough with very Banks that have paid her so much money. --------- LETTER TO Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton You have pledged to take on the Wall Street Banks who wrecked our economy, and yet you've taken huge speaking fees from the very same institutions. Please prove to the American people that you tell the bankers the same thing you say on a debate stage: immediately release the transcripts of your paid speeches to Wall Street.

  • Tell Austin Lawmakers Not to Give into Uber’s Bullying
Why are companies like Uber and Lyft so scared of commonsense safety regulations in Austin? Uber and Lyft, whose drivers are operating in our city, haven’t followed the same regulations as the rest of our taxi industry, and that increases the risk for us all. They are putting profit above safety because they think they’re unstoppable. And now they’re trying to bully our elected leaders in Austin, who approved an ordinance that phases in fingerprinting for drivers and stronger rules for identifying ride-share vehicles, to back down. Now Uber is trying to force the city to hold an expensive election to overturn this ordinance and are threatening to leave town. This bullying has got to stop. Similar regulations have been put in place in Houston and other cities, and Uber continues to operate in those cities without any problems. Tell Austin City Council members and our mayor Steve Adler to not give into Uber’s bullying and to continue to support commonsense regulations to keep riders safe and ensure drivers are treated fairly.
