• Congress: Reinstate Medicaid Pay Parity
In 2006, I started Kid's Count Pediatrics in Elkin, North Carolina. Because the patients we care for are the children of struggling families and chronically ill children, 85% of our practice is Medicaid compared to the National average of 22% for primary care providers. Because we do not turn away kids with Medicaid as their primary insurance, our practice makes 40-50% less than a traditional practice. The poor reimbursement rates plus the recent 20% pay cut (causing us to lose $3,000 a week in revenue since January 1st) leave us struggling to keep our doors open. If we close, where will these kids go? Kids don't choose their insurance, and all children deserve the same access to life saving treatments. Practices like Kid's Count Pediatrics offer a service to the community, but, by accepting government funded health insurance, we struggle to keep our doors open. Since the expiration of Medicaid Pay Parity on January 1st of 2015, our practice has so far lost $32,000. Please join us and the American Academy of Pediatrics in asking our government to reinstate Medicaid pay parity with back payment to January 1st so we can keep taking care of our kids.

  • Governor Baker: Save the Casey Overpass and Forest Hills!
We believe it is wrong to spend $84 M+ to create a 6- or 7-lane highway amidst Emerald Necklace parklands, add up to 5 new traffic lights, impair vehicle, bus, bike and foot travel, and disenfranchise Boston’s least affluent neighborhoods to relieve MassDOT of bridge maintenance at Forest Hills. The Casey Overpass was built to alleviate gridlock due to mixing of local and regional traffic in this already busy transportation hub. MassDOT’s at-grade plan reverses that. It’s not only a bad idea, but also tragic, maybe criminal, lethal, and at minimum a gross disservice to tens of thousands of citizens impacted by this decision.

  • President Obama, stop supporting the deadly Saudi bombing of Yemen
YEMEN-ANOTHER DISASTER FOR CIVILIANS The conflict in Yemen is a civil war that can only be resolved by political negotiations. Since the start of Saudi bombing, supported by the US, hundreds of thousands of civilians have been displaced and hundreds have been killed. The United Nations, The European Union, Iran and Pakistan are calling for a diplomatic solution. Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen, killing and displacing innocent people and cutting off food supplies, water, and access to medicine. The United States is providing arms and bombs to Saudi Arabia. This must be stopped. Call President Obama at (202)456-1111. Tell him to: 1-Join with the UN, European Union and Pakistan to negotiate a political solution; 2-Call for an end to military intervention, and an arms embargo; 3-Assist with humanitarian help to the people of Yemen

  • Legalize Medical Marijuana
I saw the result of my 14-year-old son's suicide 13 years ago. My first reaction was to run to him and pick him up. A twenty six minute hell ensued and the result was crushed vertebrae in my neck that hurt from morning to night. Now, I am American Strong so I built a swimming business because being in the pool helps but I am only one little story and there are a million of them more than mine. If it is a Medical Doctor, why would you not allow them to prescribe a natural plant that works equal to many pain and PTSD drugs, just to name a few?

Many of us are very concerned about the future development of our Neighborhood. Many of us bought homes in this neighborhood under the premise that it would only have 200 homes in it. Many of us bought premium lots and were told that no homes would be built behind our premium lots. Many of us are concerned about the safety of our children with the increase traffic that this new development will bring down our roads. If you have any of these concerns we need YOU to sign this petition to help protect our neighborhood. We need them to see that our neighborhood is collectively in agreement and we are not backing down! Below is our alternative proposal: 1.Create new traffic patterns to decrease traffic flow away from Ranchester Rd and Hauser Lake. 2.Move the CBU's (mailboxes) out of the pool parking lot and into Phases 2B & 3. 3.No apartments! 4.Tree buffer for those who paid for premium lots.

  • Rename Chris Matthews Show “Softball”
Chris Matthews asked only rhetorical questions meant to give President Obama a platform to deliberately tear down Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has come out strongly against Fast Track and the TPP, especially the Investor State Dispute Settlement process or ISDS. Matthews never asked the president why hundreds of civic organizations, faith groups and every single Union, have come out strongly against the TPP. Chris Matthews just said they’re all wrong and the president is right, despite the statistics that show NAFTA-style free trade agreements have devastated the economy and wages, as workers must compete with low foreign wages. Chris Matthews could have thrown hardballs at Obama, but he didn’t, instead giving the president a platform to just say, “Trust me.” Chris Matthews never asked hard questions like, “Why is the text of the TPP classified,” or won’t extending patents raise medicine prices under Medicare and Medicaid and to the public? Why won’t you release the text now for the public to see? There are lots of hardballs Chris Matthews could have thrown, but instead, he chose to lob softballs at a time when the Public needs to know what is being negotiated in their name. Perhaps the Chris Matthews Show should be renamed “Softball.” Links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzfxv2XQoPg http://www.c-span.org/video/?323650-1/news-conference-opposition-fast-track-authority http://www.msnbc.com/hardball/watch/president-obama-defends-tpp-deal-431711811768

  • Expose the F.B.I. 'DO-NOT-WORK' list Veterans are placed on. Stop it.
Veterans in our Nation kill themselves / commit suicide almost one per hour each day, every day. They are Veterans both young and old, male & female. Is there a hidden common denominator at work?? I believe there is, and it's called the **'No-Work-List'**; a list I believe I myself have been placed on, along with countless numbers of former members of our Nations Armed Forces. The goal of the list / plan is to get the Veteran to submit / comply, by way of financial distress, with a system contaminated with deep seated institutional corruption. Being placed on the list causes financial distress for the Veteran and his family, which in many cases drives the Veteran toward economic death followed by mental distress / spiritual death and actual physical death (SUICIDE). I am at the cusp of my research (SCIENCE) project. I am determined to establish the existence of the **'No-Work-List'** and present my findings to American Society , the public, along with data on the correlation between Veteran Suicide and the existence and outcomes of the **'No-Work-List'** .
