Right now in the United States only 13% of U.S. workers have access to paid family leave—and the U.S. is the only industrialized nation in the world without this critical policy. It's past time for this to change. I ask that you sign on to co-sponsor the FAMILY Act, a social insurance program that would provide workers—including those who are self-employed and/or work part-time—with much-needed income while they, or a family member, deal with the arrival of a new baby or a serious health issue. The new, self-sustaining fund would be created through very small, shared costs to employees and employers. Support for paid family (maternity/paternity) and medical leave is huge: 81% of Americans agree that paid leave is good for our nation! We've got the public support, and now we need Congress to act on it.

The truth is that we ALL get sick, but not everyone in the United States has access to the time off they need to get better. In fact, right now 43 million Americans—more than four in ten private-sector workers and 80% of low-wage workers—can't earn a single paid sick day for when they or a family member are sick. This means too often people have to make an impossible choice between going to work sick (and risk infecting coworkers and customers) or staying home and losing an invaluable day’s pay, or sometimes even losing their job. It's not rocket science: That's bad for families, and it’s bad for our nation's economy! Paid sick days boost our families, economy, and businesses—a win-win-win!

My husband has been incarcerated for 5 years . Within this time my husband has grown into a more responsible , loving , caring and greater man . He has used his time to grow and to make sure that his life as well as mine Is better once he's released . My husband deserves the opportunity to come home , be a husband and show the community the wonderful man he has become .

The Department of Defense recently asked for $585 billion for its operations around the world, roughly half of our "discretionary budget" (the annual budget paid for with our federal income tax dollars, as opposed to appropriations mandated by previous law like Social Security, which we pay for through payroll taxes.) But the Department of Defense has never – not once – passed an audit of its activities. That’s a real problem, and we’re going to do something about it. Legislation is currently pending to require an audit of the Pentagon’s activities, so you know exactly what you’re getting for your tax dollars. Join us in calling on Congress to pass the bill!

We need to end the lack of Defense Department accountability.

We have all wanted to keep our streets safe and not allow illegal aliens to drive. Unfortunately, this statement is by far inaccurate, since then the number of people driving without insurance has skyrocketed. How is this safe for the public?

I have written daily to Facebook and they refuse to acknowledge that this type of social media is attracting many disturbed individuals that have nothing more to say than to create a base of hatred. I would like to create a petition that asks powerful social media outlets like Facebook to send a strong message regarding how important it is not to all this kind of hate, anger and racism flourish and to block it permanently.

Uber had just partnered with MADD (Mothers against drunk driving) to help reduce the deaths that occur due to drunk driving in this state!!! Just because the state of Kansas passed regulations similiar to 35 other states requiring criminal background checks and more comprehensive insurance rules for their drivers, Uber decided to leave Kansas completely, Killing jobs and making us depend on taxi drivers again(which are terrible by the way) Don't kill progress Uber!!

My kids where taken from me because my ex hurt them so I moved, and he kept stalking me. Someone went and lied on me and said he was living there and hurting them again. It wasn't true, and they never took the time to see it wasn't true. They just took my kids. I lost my kids to CYS and am trying to bring them back . My daughter, since they took them has cried because she wants to be with me, and just recently passed out at school with all the stress from this. My baby girl has had emergency surgery,allergic reaction. My son fell off of slide and busted his lip and has a black eye and is throwing a lot of tantrums. If you could sign this and help me get them home I would really appreciate it! I am trying to fight to get my kids back.

FACEBOOK IS NOW FORBIDDING THE POSTING OF VIDEOS AND ANY OTHER PICTURES OR INFO SHOWING POLICE BRUTALITY TOWARDS BLACKS AND MINORITIES. STATING THAT WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO POST CONTAINS VIOLENCE! WELL YES, WHEN A POLICE OFFICER IS BEATING OR SHOOTING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, IT USUALLY IS VIOLENT. AND IF YOU POST IT ANYWAY, THEY WILL SHUT YOU DOWN. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL ADMINISTRATORS AND MEMBERS IN GROUPS I HAVE STARTED BANNED FOR THIS VERY THING. WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THEY ARE USING THE WATCH FOR TERRORIST ACTIVITY AS AN EXCUSE TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST BLACK AWARENESS OF POLICE BRUTALITY. THEY ARE WALKING THAT THIN LINE OF BEING IN VIOLATION OF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS. AS LONG AS WE DO NOT PROMOTE VIOLENCE, AS LONG AS IT IS RAISING AWARENESS OF THE TRENDING OF POLICE BRUTALITY TOWARDS BLACKS, I CAN'T SEE HOW OR WHY WE COULD POSSIBLY BE IN VIOLATION OF FACEBOOK POLICY. NOW, WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE IF IT'S ALL RIGHT FOR ANTI-ISLAMIC PEOPLE TO TRASH A RELIGIOUS LEADER TO THE POINT PEOPLE ARE KILLED BECAUSE IT IS THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT, THE SAME APPLIES TO AFRICAN AMERICANS WHO WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO RAISE AWARENESS AND KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE MINORITIES BEING GUNNED DOWN IN THE STREETS LIKE ANIMALS. THIS ''IS NOT'' AN ACT OF PROMOTING OR IGNITING VIOLENCE, THIS IS TRYING TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM IT, WHICH APPARENTLY THEY DON'T WANT US TO BE ALLOWED TO DO!!!!!

The PERS ruling means more teacher layoffs, larger class sizes and shorter school years. We need to block this year's kicker and work towards reforming the law so that we may someday have a stable enough funding source to plan ahead and make long-term investments in our future.
