Big Sugar, as it is known in Florida, has contributed big money throughout Florida government, and resident leverage is lacking to force the state legislators to do their job in accordance with the Constitutional amendment recently passed, against the influence of these monetary contributions. Big Politics and Big Sugar have gotten into bed with each other, and boycotting Big Sugar seems to be the only measure left capable of supporting our state constitution in this matter, since the Legislators appear to be immune to our constitutional guidance.

Despite the fracking industry's assurances that their processes are completely safe, fracking fluid is now showing up in drinking water in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Fracking companies can only be trusted to protect their bottom line. The health of our citizens should ALWAYS take precedence over corporate profits. It's time our legislators acted accordingly.

If Wisconsin's current Family Medical Leave Act was changed to federal law: • Individuals would NOT be able to care for parent-in-law or domestic partner • Part time employees working between 20-26 hours per week would NOT be covered • Employees of business under 50 spread out over the state would NOT be covered • Employees would NOT be able to choose whether they want to use their accrued time while on leave. As a Family Practice Physician in Louisiana who accepts Obamacare, I am seeing a lot of new patients with serious medical problems who have had no affordable access to ANY healthcare for years. They people truly need a doctor! And those I am seeing have ACA insurance via private, for-profit, insurance companies. There are still a lot of people who could have better access to needed care, with no increased cost to the state, had our Gov. not refused increased federal help! It's okay to want to make a point, no matter how heartless, but do not even think of doing such a callous thing at the expense of the lives and health of the people who live in LA! Texas has one of the lowest rates of pay in the Nation for Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) who provide vital daily care services to people with disabling conditions. In addition, these caregivers do not receive healthcare benefits or paid time off. The average salary of a PCA in Texas is $7.80/hour, leaving those who need assistance at a loss to hire dependable, qualified workers. It also leads to a high rate of worker turnover. Without the help of PCAs, thousands of people with disabilities, like me, cannot get out of bed everyday and actively contribute to the communities in which we live. We work. We pay taxes. The people of Baltimore have had enough. Over just the last 4 years, police have killed 109 people in the city. And in 2014, 100% of the people killed by Baltimore police were Black. Baltimore — like most cities in America — has a long and ongoing history of violent, discriminatory and illegal policing. Following the tragic police killing of 25-year-old Freddie Gray the people of Baltimore rose up and moved State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby to charge all 6 officers who killed Freddie Gray. But while the police who killed Gray are out of jail, hundreds of protesters languish in overcrowded, inhumane jail conditions facing unjust criminal charges and outrageous bail. Urge State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby to drop the charges against all protesters.

Established in 2005, the Washington Renewable Energy Cost Recovery Program (CRP) provides an annual payment for electricity from qualifying wind and solar electric systems – as currently enacted – until June 2020. However, this 5 year window is not sufficient so it is critical that legislation be enacted this session to extend and improve the incentive program to continue building Washington's local renewable energy infrastructure. Distributed wind, solar and other local renewable energy technologies are important emerging sources of distributed generation, jobs, and wealth for Washingtonians.
