I personally feel physical education class is targeted toward the more athletically gifted students, aka "gym class heroes." An alternative choice would allow those who are not gifted a chance at getting the exercise they need. I personally would much rather work out my muscles than stand around watching a few students run back and forth on a field. Sometimes I feel very intimidated when 6 foot tall jocks push past me to retrieve the ball; dancing is something I do outside of school so therefore I am much more comfortable dancing than running after a ball I don't know what to do with.

To save the lives of people. Cut your spending in other ways. I know that there is a lot of wasted spending in our goverment. Help the people in Oregon, those of us who pay taxes.

To educate individuals about the seriousness of leaving children unattended in cars for multiple hours at a time and the dangers you are putting them in. How their advocacy will prevent injuries and fatalities.

I live on Crouse Mill Road and would be affected in many ways if this land designation change occurs, therefore I am starting this petition to help prove to the commissioners this is not something our town & community is in agreement with. We need to voice our concerns now as the public hearing is Nov 5th 6pm at Carroll Comm College.

Domestic violence is an issue that needs to be addressed and handled appropriately no matter your status or profession. The dismissal of Honolulu Sgt. Cachola's domestic violence case is yet another example of how police are not being held to the same standard as the general public. It's time to shed a light on this dark crime and strip Sgt. Cachola of his badge before his crimes affect another civilian.

The East Rockville Neighborhood Plan was approved by the Mayor and City Council 10 years ago. For 10 years the recommendation to create a transition zone in the Southlawn/Redgate industrial area has been ignored. Had the city followed the plan immediately, the issue of the ezStorage facility would likely be nonexistent and our neighborhood identity as a "quiet, secure, residential neighborhood" would be preserved. Instead we have been engaged in a long fight with the City and the developer to protect our neighborhood. It's time to follow the plan now.

The City of Newburgh is passing out tickets for parking over the white lines or if your tire is touching a white line in the parking lot which the Bd of Ed & Newburgh Free Library use. Recently measured, it was found out that not one parking space is within the City of Newburgh's Code for measurements. Therefore, the City is in violation of it's own Code. How can they legally give you a ticket if the parking space is illegal. Stop writing tickets & return the moneyto those who have already paid for a ticket, which by the way, is $15.

On September 30, 2014, eight professors at GTS were fired for exercising their basic (and legal!) rights as faculty members and as workers: the right to form a union. They demanded to meet to address issues that create a “hostile work environment." Their firing doesn’t just impact the professors, but the students and future leaders of the Church. As custodians and overseers of an institution charged with nurturing the next generation of Episcopalian leaders, it is the Board of Trustees’ responsibility to lead by example and practice worker relations that align with the values of the Church and honor workers’ legal and moral rights. At the 2102 General Convention, the Episcopal Church resolved to build networks in the labor movement and work with those in the labor movement to strengthen for a more just society, pledged to oppose legislative attempts that eliminate or reduce collective bargaining rights and consider union rights when making purchasing and contracting decisions. Given the Episcopal Church’s explicate opposition to retaliation and support of workers’ right to organize, the Board of Trustees must quickly reinstate these faculty members and meet with them as a collective bargaining unit.

We strongly feel that neither the Niagara Bottling Company nor any other water bottling company should have rights to take water from Cooper Lake, which is the water source for the City of Kingston and Woodstock. Cooper Lake is man made, and supplied by only one source. At a time when our climate is changing, more droughts, like the one of 2012, are likely to occur and our residents simply cannot afford to let our water be drawn out and sold to people in other regions. Water is for people, not corporate interests.

Many people can not own the dog of their choice because of insurance. This should not stop citizens from having the right to own the dog of their choice. I personally work with shelters that are full of these large breed dogs that are not being adopted because of a combination of the public's misconception of these animals and popular insurance policies not allowing ownership of these dogs.

Because the lack of a decision has created a great divide in this country. Same sex marriages are recognized by some states and in some instances and not in others. This is creating a real burden on gay families and government agencies that must deal with the problems created. The time has come for a uniform, national rule.

Dan Coyne gave a kidney to a person he casually knew and the story became a national news story. Chicago Public Schools found out he lived outside of the city, and they started procedures to fire him. Public pressure made them rescind the firing and gave him a life time waiver to not move into Chicago in 2010. Now, Barbara Bird Bennett said 'rules are rules' and reneged the waiver. He is a wonderful social worker and is needed to help families in Chicago.
