• Call out Assembly Democrats for killing the California DISCLOSE Act
Last month, California Assembly Democrats killed the DISCLOSE Act, which would require telling the truth about who is behind ads about Ballot Propositions. You can send a message to those Democrats about how you feel about their caving in to pressure from special interests, by signing this petition. Oh, and, by the way, as you sign the petition, you can give them a piece of your mind about what they did! We’re tired of ads that are really paid for by the Koch Brothers or PG&E or Monsanto saying they’re paid for by fake front groups with high-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity (a front group for the Koch brothers) or California Drivers Alliance (a new front group for the Oil Companies), or Americans for Mom and Apple Pie. We demand to know who is really paying for the ads, and the DISCLOSE Act will require that. Make a bold statement for truth in advertising–sign the petition. The whole progressive agenda will be helped by the DISCLOSE Act. Imagine how different things would be if special interests opposed to LGBT rights, civil rights, healthcare reform, and corrective actions to reduce global warming and protect the environment, had to clearly disclose themselves to voters on their ads about ballot propositions. Ask your legislators to stand up to the Special Interests and vote for the people–sign the petition. You’ll be glad you did!

  • Before we start another war, we need to have some answers
I believe that any time the US goes to war we need to know when it's over. Answering these questions will help determine if a war is the answer and, if so, how will we end our involvement.

  • Iraq and Syria: Humanitarian Considerations
I agree with the President's decision to take out ISIS. I am concerned about the plans for the civilians and their well being. Also, I think that it is very important, here and abroad, to further emphasize that Islam is a peaceful religion.

  • Stop the Madness in the Middle East
I am appalled that President Obama is engaging in more military action in Syria and Iraq. "Destroy ISIS" is not a goal; it's a slogan meant to stir up anti-Islamic sentiment in the U.S. We CANNOT destroy terrorism. If we kill every member of ISIS, a new band of thugs and executioners will replace them in a week. The Middle East conflict is an ideological "Holy War" in which the U.S. has no standing. America needs to use its limited resources here at home and stop the madness in the Middle East.

  • Remove Judge Mark Fuller From the Bench
The influence and authority which a judge wields over a person's life is far more significant than that of an entertainer or athlete. To that end, our elected representatives must ensure that members of the judiciary, whom they appoint, exemplify and are held to high standards. When they do not, the legislative branch, as the employer, must take corrective measures to terminate that person.

  • Save our school! Vote Yes on September 30th
Montague is a top rated school and the town and children will benefit forever by this addition. We send our tax dollars to New York state and have no representation there. We can do a better job for LESS money than we pay in tuition.

  • What is the Real Danger to American Soil?
I understand the economic reasons we are involved int the Middle East, oil and the hugely profitable arms industry, but protecting the homeland from terrorist attacks or invasion seems a stretch. Our domestic security agencies are among the best in the world, and have always done an excellent job of preventing attack here. But invasion? We are separated by two oceans, and they don't even have rowboats.

  • To War or Not to War--Who pays?
America is bankrupting itself. Americans are being maimed and killed fighting wars for other countries. Should we get involved in another war on our own? No! Wealthy countries in the Middle East need to take responsibility for the financial costs of defeating our common enemy, ISIS. Other countries' military should be on the ground fighting; America has sacrificed too many lives already. Ask your legislators if they think the USA should be going deeper and deeper into to debt over the Middle East.

  • Why #EndlessWar, Instead of #FixOurBridges?
I started this petition because I see no gain to the US taxpayer of policing the planet, at the expense of so many needs right here that could make our lives better and easier. Indeed, doing so may be picking winners and losers among the global corporations.

  • Senator: Stop Military Interventions in Iraq and Syria
I am sick and tired of lies and deception brought to us by the military industrial complex. We can't bomb our way to peace. The way to fight ISIS is to get weapons out of the region, not into it.
