In a move that would allow it to move its headquarters out of the country, Burger King is considering a plan to buy a Canadian coffee chain, Tim Hortons. (1) If Burger King does indeed move their headquarters, it will mean they will be taxed at a much lower rate than American-based companies in a scheme that is referred to as a corporate "inversion." The crazy thing is, they don't actually have to move their CEO or any of their central offices, they can just claim on paper to be headquartered in Canada. (2) The news comes after dozens of companies have pursued similar schemes which will cost us billions in lost taxes. We can't let big corporations continue to dodge taxes -- everyone should play by the same rules. How can we invest in education or job growth if large, profitable companies are scheming to avoid paying their fair share? I'm confident that if enough of us stand up we can stop these inversions. Since 11 August 2014 the People of Ferguson Township, MO. have been trying to get Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. Their financial status enables them to support all Apple products. It is strange that the Apple keyboard amongst many languages offers Czech, Croatian, Estonian, Hawaiian, Latvian, Macedonian, Slovak, Tamil, and Tibetan, but intentionally refuses Farsi or Persian. This is either a political statement or an act of prejudice against over 100 million Farsi speaking people in the world and two million Persian-Americans. As Persian-Americans we would like to receive acknowledgment of our language, Farsi/Persian, and our heritage country, Iran, on the Apple keyboard list of languages and countries. California can turn the tide on unlimited secret money in elections by passing the California DISCLOSE Act, a measure that will reveal the shadowy interests that who try to buy elections with deceptive ads. Teeth are not extraneous appendages, like hair. They are part of the alimentary process; therefore, Medicare ought to be involved in dental care for adults (children may be covered in other ways).
