sign on to the arctic declaration: global sanctuarywhen you think of the arctic you think of ice, snow, and maybe polar bears. but theres so much more to cold weather and a few polar bears here and there. the arctic has many species of whale, penguins, fish, seals, bears, etc. there are glaciers and some mountain ranges. so far it has been untouched by oil drillings and a majority of the community want to keep it that way!! please sign on to the arctic declaration and keep a global sanctuary. lets work together to stop Shell from drilling in the arctic. its time we, as a human race, think of other things besides ourselves. ((if you were a polar bear seeing giant machines digging and destroying what you call home you would be pretty terrified too))7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by mckenna

Rep. Schweikert: Explain your vote for Paul Ryan's job-killing budgetRep. David Schweikert voted for a federal budget that would, according to the Economic Policy Institute, slow the economy and cost 1.1 million jobs next year -- and 3 million jobs in 2016. Paul Ryan's congressional budget would cut $137 billion from SNAP (food stamps), $125 billion from Pell Grants, and $16 billion to block grants for Meals on Wheels, homeless shelters, and child care for working-poor families. It would cut some $300 billion from education funding. We need to send Congressman Schweikert a strong message so that he knows we don't support these budget priorities. We have a chance to make an impact over the next few weeks as Rep. Schweikert is on recess and making public appearances. We want him to work for a budget that creates jobs and gives everyone a fair shot in life. If enough of us sign, Rep. Schweikert will know exactly where his district stands. Rep. Hultgren: Why did you vote to cut $300 billion from schools?Rep. Randy Hultgren voted for a federal budget that cuts $18 billion from early education programs -- taking 170,000 out of preschool classrooms -- $89 billion in K-12 programs and $205 billion in higher education initiatives over the next decade. That's $312 billion in total. Every child deserves a fair shot in life and that starts with a quality education. Programs like Head Start and support for special education and disadvantaged students will see massive cuts. As a result, as many as 50 million children would see their education programs cut or eliminated. Meanwhile, as state and local budget cuts have already stretched schools thin, federal funding is often the only source of funding for early or special education. We need to send Congressman Hultgren a strong message so that he knows this budget doesn't represent out values. We have a chance to make an impact over the next few weeks as Rep. Hultgren is on recess and making public appearances. We want him to champion a budget that invests in children. If enough of us sign, Rep. Hultgren will know exactly where his district stands.147 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Sean Garren

Protect Our ArcticI am starting this petition because the Arctic is an amazing place, one of the few pristine places left on our planet. It is the home to many great animals and a place with a diverse eco system. What happens if we continue to destroy and deplete places like the Arctic? Future generations will never know its beauty or benefit from it's health and well being.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amber Valletta
