The law against same sex marriage is being challenged in Florida and I would like my marriage from New York State to be recognized in my home state of Florida. I don't believe it's fair to deny this right to a certain part of the residents of this state.

The people of Florida deserve to vote in districts not tainted by a flawed and unlawful process. Convenience MUST NOT be a reason to allow voting to proceed with those UNLAWFUL congressional maps.

By investing $500 million in tax abatements for clean energy projects, Nevada has attracted $5.5 billion of capital. These investments provide a 10 to 1 return, providing Nevada with jobs and a long-term competitive advantage among Western states. Fortune 500 companies have also demonstrated strong returns from clean energy investments and are collectively saving $1.1 billion dollars a year and reducing CO2 emissions by 58.3 million metric tons, which is similar to retiring about 15 coal power plants. By developing and implementing our own plan to reduce carbon emissions, Nevada will harness more of our own natural energy resources, including improved efficiency and increased geothermal, solar and wind development. This will allow us to keep more of our money in Nevada by decreasing our dependency on out of state fossil fuels, which are subject to volatile price fluctuations while increasing our ability to export clean, renewable energy.

Net metering is an important policy that encourages distributed generation systems, such as roof-top solar, by allowing individuals and businesses to plug into Nevada’s grid system and receive credits toward their bills for the energy their systems generate. By supporting distributed generation, Nevada will continue private investments into the clean energy economy, harness our own natural resources and keep more of our money in state by decreasing our purchase of out of state fossil fuels, which are subject to volatile price fluctuations.
