• Raise the minimum wage so my granddaughter can pay off her student loan in my lifetime.
I had to work at a minimum wage job after returning from Viet Nam, while I was still in the Army in Texas in order to pay for off post housing for my wife and I. It sucks when the country you fought for treated you like dirt. Most of the Republicans now in congress have never known hardship of military life. So raise the Minimum Wage already

  • Missouri's Right to Know
While more research needs to be done on the full impact of GMOs, they are not without risk and consumers have a right to know what is in the food we buy. HB 1396 in the Missouri House of Representatives would require that "all food and food products... sold in this state that are or contain genetically modified products shall be labeled indicating that they are or contain genetically modified products." Sign this petition to your state representative asking them to support our right to know by co-sponsoring HB 1396.

  • Stop the time change
Time changes that happen twice a year are disruptive to people's lives and rest. Having to re acclimate twice a year is very hard on the average person but extremely hard on those of us that suffer from adjustment problems. This causes increase in problems such as depression and sleep disturbances. Since we are no longer a society that has the same needs as when daylight savings time was placed in effect, this practice should be stopped.

  • LET STUDENTS VOTE!
The state has disallowed normal voting hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Florida college campuses. This is an outrage. The Governor of Florida, a Republican, fears that students would vote Democratic and has chosen this method to silence us.

I want answers for my family and his children. I am his sister. We Live with this nightmare daily and the way we were treated. I have been trying to get someone to listen but its like we don't exist. We want answers. He deserves better than saying he hung himself and they can't even tell us what he did it with. They said bed sheet or mattress cover, but don't know what it was. Please, anyone, come forthand let us know. How would you like to sleep at night if that was your child, brother, or sister?

  • Raise the minimim wage
No person who works full-time should be in poverty. If a company cannot afford to pay a living wage to its workers, there is something wrong with its business plan.

  • Rep. Joe Pitts: Stop Blocking Minimum Wage Increase for Workers
Members of my family are working hard every week while struggling to get by on poverty wages. Increasing the Minimum Wage would help thousands of PA workers pay their bills and feed their families - and it has been shown time and again that it would spur our economy - for everyone! Rep. Pitts should do the right thing for PA workers instead of siding with big corporations.

  • Smuckers Non-Appreciation Day
I'm mad as hell over the hundreds of millions of dollars corporations are spending to skew our elections. Help us set an example of public outrage over corporate influence in citizen elections. Tell Smuckers to stop interfering in our elections. Plus please start boycotting Smuckers as well.

  • Rep. Upton will you support Business and the Minimum Wage of $10.10?
As a clergyman I support an increase in the minimum wage to at least $10.10 an hour. Members of my own family are among thousands of workers who are working hard every week while struggling to get by on poverty wages. But this is also a benefit for business. The argument that a higher minimum wage would hurt business is old and tired. There is clear and compelling evidence that the economy and companies enjoy real benefits when workers are paid more.

  • President Obama: This time support a UN 5th World Conference on Women (5WCW)!
4WCW was in Beijing, 1995. 5WCW would be a 21st Century conference with the internet, smart phones, satellite technology, simultaneous conferences; fostering feminist networks, ongoing women's circles including virtual ones. This would energize a global women's movement, which creates political will, without which women and women's issues are sidelined. Since 2009, I have been working toward this at the UN. Active support from the White House looks to be all that is needed for passage of a consensus resolution in the General Assembly, preparation takes 2 -3 years, with 2017 the likely date.

  • Rep. Grimm: America Needs a Raise!
Raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour would boost the paychecks of over 30 million workers in the U.S. The majority are adults with full-time jobs, and nearly half have some college education. If the minimum wage had kept pace with inflation since 1968, it would be $10.60 today. Tell Rep. Michael Grimm you support this fix.

  • Rep. Davis: Stop blocking raising the minimum wage
In the last 10 years our communities in Madison County have lost the good paying manufacturing jobs, forcing productive skilled labor into low paying service jobs. By raising the minimum wage more workers can afford to buy a home, a car or shop in our neighborhood stores.
