• Stricter Child Support Enforcement
I see too often men and women escape accountability for their actions. They never suffer, the parent that is doing the right thing does all the suffering, its almost like the drunk driver that crashes into an innocent person. The innocent person ends up dying and the drunk driver gets to go to jail...alive!

  • Remove Jack Hansen as Council President
Too many people have worked to hard to make Lansdale a destination. We need to keep that going and Jack Hansen is not the person to do that because he has shown that politics are more important than community! We need to get him out of politics here in Lansdale!

  • $15/hour for Los Angeles Hotel Workers!
More than 750 small businesses agree, LA's economy needs a boost! We can start in the hospitality industry, where the recession is over and business is booming. But workers like me still need two jobs or welfare just to get by. My coworkers and I want to keep more money here in our city. RAISE LA would give workers in big hotels a $15/hour minimum wage. When we earn more money, we spend it locally -- going out for dinner or buying my daughter a new bike. The local economy wins. And our campaign is gaining ground! We landed front-page coverage in the LA Times and stories in the Huffington Post, The New Republic, and more. Watch our video at: http://bit.ly/RAISE-LA Please add your name to this petition to show the LA City Council Members we want them to take action to build a stronger local economy.

  • Christ Church, Teddington - Save our Ministry
Our congregation will be bankrupted if the Council's insistence on trying to keep the old building is not altered. We will be gone, our various ministries will be gone, our facilities will be gone. There won't simply be no 'old church building', there will be no church at all. 150 years of work and witness will be finished if they do not look forwards. The site will stand derelict for years, and eventually the worst fears of locals will be realised - because eventually the whole site will be given over to housing - not just a part of it. The community will lose out.

  • Gov Christie: Denounce Rep. Chris Smith's rape audit bill
New Jersey's own Rep. Chris Smith is at it again. A committee in Congress is going to debate his anti-choice bill that could force sexual-assault survivors who choose abortion to prove to the IRS that the assault occurred. We don’t want New Jersey’s fingerprints on this kind of anti-woman policy! If it passes, women and families across the country will have elected officials from the Garden State to blame. Rep. Smith only represents New Jersey’s 4th congressional district, but Chris Christie, as governor, represents the whole state. That’s why we're calling on Gov. Christie to denounce Rep. Smith’s rape audit bill and say it doesn’t represent the values of New Jersey.

  • Tax Credit For New Jobs Instead of a Tax Cut for all Businesses.
Ronald Reagan plugged many loopholes in the Personal Income Tax Code as part of a deal to reduce the tax rate. 30 years later the tax rate is still low but the loopholes have crept back in one at a time under the radar. Instead of giving a reward first and hoping some businesses will actually earn it we should give the reward after the jobs are actually created.

  • No Crates for the Garden State
In June, S 1921 passed the Assembly by a margin of 60-5 votes, and by the Senate 29-4, but Governor Chris Christie vetoed the legislation. Polls show that nearly 90% of New Jersey residents would like to see sow gestation crates abolished. The overwhelming support for the elimination of sow gestation crates must be acknowledged and signed into law now.

  • Gov. Schweitzer, please meet with Chelsea Manning
Chelsea Manning, fka Bradley Manning, is an individual who took a personal risk to expose the duplicity and, in cases, criminality of US foreign policy, especially in Iraq. Manning meets the definition of a "prisoner of conscience". Manning was held in conditions that were determined to be *illegal* pre-trial punishment. Manning was denied her right to a speedy trial.

  • 8 hours between work shifts
While working in retail, I have seen fellow employees being given shifts ending at 11pm at night just to come back at 5:30am tired and not 100% functional. Not only is this immoral but bad for business. There should be a mandatory 8 hours in between shifts so people come to work alert and awake.

  • Legalize Recreational Marijuana in North Carolina
I started this petition because recreational marijuana would not hurt anyone! It would generate desperately needed revenue, create jobs, and be one less reason for our natives to flee to places such as Colorado.
