• Protect the integrity of elections
I am dismayed by the ability of special interests and their lobbyists to undermine the influence of average Americans, and control information broadcasted to the public. When we allow special interests to spend money individuals can’t match, we implicitly give them permission to drown out the voice of the public, creating an imbalance in the electoral debate. Citizens United vs. FEC Supreme Court decision overturned over a century of precedent and opened the floodgates for unlimited amounts of corporate money to flow into our political system. With the Citizens United decision, large corporations have the power to spend unlimited amounts of money from their general treasuries to buy elections. What's more, Citizen United opened loopholes that allow corporations to hide their campaign expenditures by laundering the money through non-profit advocacy organizations. We need a government of, for and by the people. We need a constitutional amendment to undo the worst aspects of the Citizens United decision.

  • Recruitment, Preparation & Support of the Next Generation of LAUSD Teachers SCHOOL BOARD RESOLUTI...
In my experience, the personal connection between teacher and student is a powerful means of motivation and learning. LAUSD has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to meet the needs of low-income students of color by recruiting and training culturally and linguistically skilled teachers who will make their careers in our classrooms. Let’s attack disparity and the achievement gap right now!

  • WE DEMAND "TPP TRANSPARENCY NOW" Protect your job
The Trans Pacific Partnership is the largest power grab by Corporations, Wall Street, and the Opulent in the history of the United States of America, and it is the most destructive, and damaging. Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) has seen some of the proposals contained within the TPP, and he said it is "a punch in the face to the middle class of America ... but I'm not allowed to tell you why". "THIS IS NOT TRANSPARENCY" We American people deserve better than this, we deserve to know the truth concerning all aspects of our government! This is a back-door deal, and a blatant betrayal to the American People. We demand "HONESTY" and "TRANSPARENCY NOW" President Obama "DO NOT DO THIS" without direct involvement, and approval by the American People. You were voted into the office of the Presidency in good faith, you promised transparency, and inclusion during your service to the American People! Once again; "PRESIDENT OBAMA DO NOT DO THIS, STOP THE TRANS PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP NOW" "WE DEMAND YOUR FULL ALLEGIANCE TO THE USA" Sincerely yours; AMERICAN CITIZENS c/o AGG, trickledowncampaigning.com

  • Support IAM 751 Machinists! A REVOTE IS A FAIR VOTE!
To announce a contract vote on the Saturday after the majority of your work force has already left for Winter vacation and many are not expected to be back until Jan 6 in unethical and shows a lack of integrity and respect for the collective bargaining process. This vote was held in bad faith with the intent of receiving a specific and the desired result by the company and the international union leadership. Not Allowing the vote to occur the week following the holiday as requested by the district local shows that both the company and the union did not want to allow members the ability to communicate with each other and their local prior to voting thus interfering with our ability to organize. For our international to put us in such a position is a misrepresentation of our membership and an act of bad faith!

  • UNBAN DEBBIE
Florence lauderdale animal shelter is banning Debbie Darby Rappuhn from the shelter she controls the rescues and so they have met and wants Debbie to come back IF she helps with the duties of the workers. She does not want to do their job anymore. She wants to still have access, but wants to spend her time helping the animals get to rescue rather than helping the workers have an easier time of their jobs.

  • Remove Kayak Stair Chair Television Commercial
I am a professional who advocates for individual's daily safety including in the home. The content in this video emphasizes putting vacation plans ahead of an elderly person's safety. People's homes are their safe haven and stair lift equipment is an expensive home adaptation to install for personal use and to prevent falls and hospital stays. Please assist me in having this company remove this uncivil commercial from television broadcasting.

  • Nassau County Parents against Governor Cuomo's "Incentive Pay" to "Highly Motivated" teachers
Our children should not be used as pawns in this game of teacher evaluations based on test scores. The " incentive pay" seems more like a bribe to get teachers to accept and embrace the Common Core and high stakes testing. Too many government officials are not taking into account the effect, this pressure box of teaching to the test, is having on the children.

  • Seattle City Council and Mayor Murray: $15 minimum wage - make it happen!
We at MoveOn Seattle would like to share this letter that we received from a local Seattle fast food worker. “I am a Seattle fast food worker, but I can’t support myself on my current wage of $9.32 an hour. I have to pay rent, electricity, phone and all the rest on minimum wage pay, $9.32 an hour - less than $20,000 a year even if I was scheduled for 40 hours a week. I had to move out of the city after I got my job because the pay was too low. I commute two hours a day on the bus to get to my fast food job and I still can’t even afford to live in the city. It’s time that changed! Lots of elected officials have said that they are supportive of a $15 an hour minimum wage. In fact, Mayor Murray formed an income inequality committee here in the city to address raising the minimum wage, and even signed an executive order raising the wage to $15 an hour for all city employees. We need to hold them to their promises. We can keep the pressure on and make sure they know that we aren’t going away. We will keep fighting for $15! These fast food and other big corporations are making billions in profits - they can afford to pay us better. We can’t just sit around and hope that they do the right thing out of the goodness of their hearts, though. We have to make them. If I get a pay raise to $15 an hour it would literally change my life. I would be able to rent my own place. I’d be able to start planning for my future and maybe, just maybe I’d buy some stuff I’ve needed for a long time but couldn’t afford. It wouldn’t just be good for workers like me, but it would be good for everybody. We all would put that money right back into the local stores and business around us. We’re not going to store it away in some out of state corporate headquarters. We are going to spend right here in the city. They are doing it in SeaTac and we can do it in Seattle. Who knows where it will go next. Together, let’s help the Mayor and the Seattle City Council do the right thing for all employees and pass a $15 minimum wage in Seattle.” Thanks! –MoveOn Seattle

  • Do NOT parole pedophile Arthur Sobey
Inmate Arthur Sobey was sentenced to 25-30 years for the systematic, manipulative prolonged sexual assault of a child under the age of 10. A 404 hearing during trial heard many but not all of the voices of children he had systematically abused prior. His next parole date is scheduled for February 2014. Even if he is not paroled the criminal justice system is mandated to release him in May of 2015 after only 15 years. Children are not safe as long as he is allowed to roam. If released he will have enormous resources since the military chose not to take away his pension even though law allowed it. Keep your children safe from this predator. Speak out against parole for Arthur Sobey.
