• A Constitutional Crisis Continues in Colorado
    (1) Because the unconstitutional COGCC is a "captured agency" of the Colorado Oil & Gas Fracking Industry. (2) Because WE THE PEOPLE OF COLORADO are injured and continue to receive injury to our persons, posterity and property, because the Oil & Gas Fracking Industry in Colorado operates under the impunity of "moral hazard". Therefore, WE THE PEOPLE OF COLORADO hereby exercise our First Amendment rights and demand of you nine Members of Congress an expeditious "Congressional Inquiry" into the constitutionality and legality of the COLORADO OIL & GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION ACT.

  • DMV United
The DMV United Campaign was created by three media entities in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The Eddie Kayne Show Movie Hood TV Organically Grown Radio (OGRadioDMV) These three parties recognize that the key to solidifying our region as a powerhouse in the music industry lies not just in the talent but the consumers who when given the chance will support the talent and those that provide platforms for the talent to be seen and heard. The current corporate structure in terrestrial radio in our area has given the local artist a very minimal level of support. No longer will we be satisfied with the crumbs that fall off the table when we as consumers and listeners are fed music from all over the world but rarely hear the voices of the potentially next big artist that could be from our hometown. Eddie Kayne has an internet radio show as well as a television show that caters to our hometown artist and takes their music across the nation and into foreign countries. Organically Grown Radio is a prominent voice on internet radio and through their catchphrase “Get Organic” they seek to take music back to when artists expressed themselves for more than a payday. Movie Hood TV is the premier website in the Washington Metropolitan Area for artists to showcase the videos to give fans that visual that so often can catapult them from being a local name to a household name. We will be combining our talents together to take this movement from the concert venues, to the nightclubs, to the sporting events and even to the offices of the terrestrial radio stations to let it be known that we will no longer show support if none is given to those that embody the true spirit of the Nation’s Capitol and its surrounding areas. We will be handing out flyers as well as music to let the consumers who were denied the chance to witness artists such as Wale, Fat Trel and Shy Glizzy before they were signed to major labels grow and develop as artists. It’s time to turn off terrestrial radio and open your windows the next big artist could be right outside your door!! We demand that terrestrial radio, show more support for our local artists in the Washington Metropolitan Area by allowing selected artist to be allotted a time slot during prime time hours. Therefore creating a higher platform for the artist and building a stronger connection to the communities in which you serve. #DMVUnited

  • Thank Senators Durbin (D-IL), Warren (D-MA) & Reed (D-RI) for Pushing Congress to Overhaul Stude...
With the national student debt average now over $29 thousand -- up 10.5% in a year -- students are in desperate need of a break. Senators like Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Jack Reed (D-RI) have been unhappy and dissatisfied with the interest rate hikes from July. They've been working tirelessly to make sure that students and families are high on the agenda for 2014. Senators Warren (D-MA), Reed (D-RI), and Durbin (D-IL) are proposing some major changes to student loans – among them include “forcing colleges to pay the Education Department if they have high default rates and allowing student debt to be wiped out in bankruptcy” and “calling to revive a dormant grant program for poor students that could give the federal government more influence over state higher education policy.” Please tell these politicians that they have our support!

  • Bring sanity to our state liquor board
I have decided to start this petition for a number of reasons. The single most important of these is that the law is stifling and a classic example of nanny state lawmaking. The government has no right to tell anyone what completely legal items they can purchase or when, nor should they be allowed to make any attempt at enforcing their own views of morality on the population of the state. Laws should be backed up by facts, not by an attempt at enforcing a philosophy.

The Army has yet to rule her death murder-rape, so her memory and honor are tainted as a suicide. This was not a suicide and the military is covering it up, because they do not want to own up to their error! Help put pressure on our elected officials to force the army to do the right thing. Please sign this petition and learn more here http://youtu.be/hp4eZ-BrghE ~ This petition needs 100,000 signatures and will be submitted to Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), the chair of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, which has direct authority and oversight over all military matters on behalf of the people of the United States.

  • Give Jahi McMath Another Chance
As a mom of a child with many medical issues, I have had much experience with how hospitals do not want to provide costly care to the severely impaired population. Jahi Mc Math was a healthy 13 yr old girl who was medically neglected during her post operative aftercare in the PICU at Children's Hospital Oakland. As a result she suffered an anoxic brain injury. CHO owes her and her family every possible rehabilitation technique, every possible treatment, medication, regardless of the cost to bring this girl back. At the very least she deserves time and nutrition to see if there is a chance that she could recover. CHO is currently denying Jahi nutrition by refusing to allow a simple feeding tube surgery. This surgery takes only minutes to perform. GiveJahi Mc Math another chance at life. CHO took her life away once, don't let them take it away again!

  • Stop "Leave Sexy at Home"!
Why it's problematic: It objectifies and sexualizes young women. It promotes the idea that a woman's body is inherently sexual, and that it is her job to cover it up to avoid provocation or suffer the consequences. It instills a harmful mindset that "boys will be boys", and are not responsible for their own actions. This mentality feeds into rape culture, giving way to victim blaming. The code is heteronormative, and disproportionately will harm LGBTQ+ students for not conforming to its standards. From the students: 1) As a student who has been told by a teacher that I was "trying too hard to get a boyfriend" because of my outfit, I am appalled by not only the idea that every action by my gender is catered to the desires of a man, but also by the culture of self hatred and blame that this terminology creates. (Hillary) 2) At an assembly, an assistant principal posed this question to us, “How are boys supposed to learn when their classmates are sexier than their teachers?” To this I ask firstly, why is every action taken by someone who is not male catered to what will please a male? And secondly, if this logic is true, why are LGBTQ women's quality of education not hampered by the way other girls dress? Why are LGBTQ men not overly distracted to the point of academic failure by boys wearing tanktops, shorts, or football leotards? (Maddy) 3) This culture of persecution of LGBTQ/gay students at Churchill HAS to stop. The internalization of my own desire to be feminine (and perhaps wear a dress) which was enflamed by administrative policy eventually led me to have panic attacks and a hospitalization later in life. (Mario) Please sign this petition so our school will hear our voices, and work with us to make our learning environment safer.

  • Mr. Marchionne: Tear Down That (ethanol blend) Wall!
Both air pollution and GHG are increasing, and gasoline use is the chief reason in the US. We have a low cost, cleaner alternative, ethanol, that is being hindered by auto companies reluctance to manufacture new vehicles that can use E-15 (hence increasing our use of ethanol by 50%). This important step forward needs public support and public outcry, especially as we are now beginning to make ethanol from wastes.
